Happy Tuesday,
As I have shows on Create and Craft tomorrow I thought I would give you a sneak peak of some of the samples I have made for the show. This is a decoupage show featuring the Craft Consortium pares, MDF storage units, some stunning MDF frames that are brand new as well as a couple of my stamp sets that are prefect for stamping on the papers and the units making them truly individual. I have, as usual, made far too many samples but I love playing with these papers and find so many different ways to use them!
IN the top 2 I have used a couple of new papers from Craft consortium to cover a big boy unit (as named by Martyn) in postcards and a ribbon units in the matching chevrons design.
The ribbon unit featured here is simply painted using mat chalk paint as well as the brand new matching crackle paint. I have then stamps on this using some of the elements from the Fen frames and sentiments clear stamp set form Creative expressions. These small flowers have a solid centre stamp as well as a detailed outline making colouring and stamping so easy. I added a few of the ferns as well then distressed the unit by adding pewter gilding wax. I hope you agree but to me this has a really nice soft feel to it.
Finally there is this MDF ornate from which I have made look like an old gilt mirror frame. To see how tune in as this will be a demo tomorrow!
The shows are on tomorrow at 10am and 2pm so tune in or record if it takes your fancy!
Enjoy...

Good morning John I am loving these storage solutions. I am on a quest to organise my stash and these units will be perfect. I will be recording your show as I will be at work. Have a great day. Hugs Jackie
ReplyDeleteMorning John, Great storage solutions, your samples are fabulous. I love the ribbon storage, although the majority of my 'huge' stash of ribbons are lengths, and I just have them stuffed into a couple of drawers, and don't really know what I've got !! any ideas ??
ReplyDeleteLots of love from Patricia xx
They are lovely I just need the space to house them! Will have to record the shows and can't wait to see Patricia H - how about "pegging" your ribbon on to a piece of string like a washing line
ReplyDeleteThanks for the sneak peak John, these samples are great, need to record your show tomorrow, thanks for the tips. Linda

Great samples John but I think I would need too many for all my ribbons and then have no where to put them so my big plastic crate will just have to continue to serve. I will be watching anyway as I'm sure there will be lots of tips and techniques to inspire, love from Jackie xx
ReplyDeleteEh up John
ReplyDeleteHaving seen these close up, I can testify these are great. Love the bird paper in particular.
Have a great day.

Thank you for the sneak peek and looking forward to the shows
ReplyDeleteLove the look of all your samples but particularly the MDF ornate frame - that is right up my street for painting, inking and waxing - unfortunately not at home this week so won't be able to watch unless I can catch up somehow - good luck - not that you need it but enjoy xx GailT xx
ReplyDeleteHi John, thank you for the sneer peep, these storage solutions are FAB. Like others have said a lot of my ribbon is in lengths. So my solution has been to put my ribbons in smaller boxes marking each bed - i.e. Christmas, Seambinding, Wide, Narrow, Lace etc. I would be interested to hear if anyone else has any different solutions.
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a good day John. Love Brenda
Woops - That should read marking each BOX !!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove to see how you have decorated the Big Boy. I have one, but so far it's only base coated.
ReplyDeleteHi John,
ReplyDeleteI love what you've done with the units, really looking forward to seeing decoupage in action. It really makes all the difference if one uses the right papers for it. Shall tune in as well as record (just in case I forget something) tomorrow. Enjoy yourself.
HAGD, Rose
Hi John
ReplyDeleteYour nits look gorgeous don't they. I'll be recording the shows as usual. I can cut out all the stupid chatter of the presenters and concentrate on your brilliant demos. We never get enough of any demos because of their stupid chatter.
