Snowy Trees...

First day of my long haul today with the Crafting Live event in stoineliegh followed by a holiday!  As I said yesterday form today onwards the posts will be shorter!

















A simple card today made with three of my new embossing folders, the Confetti frame, the winter trees and the sentiment from the tree of Hearts.

Missing Pearl...

I will be at Crafting Live at Stoneleigh Tomorrow and Sunday, following that we will be off to the airport for a short holiday ( yes I have l;isyetedn to all my blog family who have told me to take a break!)  That said it means that the Blog posts for the next 2 weeks will be shorter with more pictures and less description.  As many of you may realise I dont schedule my posts weeks in advance and post each one the night before.  That means that Whilst I am away I need to schedule a lot of posts!

Todays card is again quite simple I have titled it as Missing Pearl ads I am sure we have all had the occasion that when we photograph a card or give it to someone awe see one item missing.  Can you spot the missing pearl on this one? lol

I took a piece of white glitter card and cut the Amy Design poinsettia trio into each corner.  This gave 3 2 sets of 3 different sizes of poinsettia and a perfectly spaced aperture of the flowers.  By carefully placing the dies, they come as a set of three fused so this bit is easy, at opposing corners I was able to frame the piece.

Next I placed a lilac card behind this and then shaped and offset the cut poinsettias over the top giving a quick 2 layer flower.

I stamped the sentiment from my winter trees clear stamp set ( luckily I used my press to impress as it took inking the stamp three times to get the lilac ink to show up on the glitter card!) and added a frame made with the oval stitch dot dies from press cut.  I also added pearl strips around this and a little foliage to tie the centrepiece to the corners.

Finally I added a host of Pearlage around the frame and added a few layers of white and lilac to finish.

Deer Earrings...

Today's card is again relatively simple with just one die used for the main card and both tags.

I simply cut the deer with baubles form Amy design three times each in red and in vintage gold.  I then cut three of each square that fits the deer.  I then simply made up the six panels in alternate colours red on gold etc.

I made four of the panels up into an 8" x 8" card using a few layers of white, gold and red before adding to a card blank.

I used the 2 extra panels on tape which I threaded with thin stain ribbon.

Today sees me back at Crafty Corner in Breedon Proriry for my Regular monthly workshop.  There are also some places left at the Anstey Workshop in October, details are on the main page on the right ( if you are viewing on mobile you need to click see web version at the bottom of the page to see the full blog)

Back to Todays card and I thought I would share another embossing folder card this time all in white. This really is simple to make It's all made form the Limetree gold dust iridescent card which is a white card with a sprinkling of gold dust when you catch the light.  I embossed the rustic frame in the card and simply added mats and layers using the press cut stitch dot square dies.  I added a stitch dot circle in the centre with the Merry Christmas die cut once in white and one in silver and offset the white sentiment so that it shows up.







The flowers used are a sneak peak of something coming at the end of next month so you will all have to wait to find out more!!  I added stick on pearls to highlight some ion the snowflakes and the flowers and finished with an 8x8" card blank ( as this is an actual card it may be sent lol

Misty Dragonfly...

A simple card to make today but hopefully effective in its simplicity.

I started with the circle media plate and inked it with the Izink inks in cases, south seas and rose.  I ran this over with my brayer to smooth the ink ( you need to press on really hard too get the best effects from the media plates)  I then inked the leaf stamp form the spring flowers clear stamp set with perfect medium and pressed it onto the plate.  This technique removes the ink form the plate leaving a resist I then stamp the inked stamp into the piece of card.  I repeated this all over the plate then pressed this onto the card using the Press to Impress stamp tool

Next I added some of the leaves inked and stamped directly onto the card.

I cut the dragonfly die ( an old die from my stash) form a piece of background I had stamped then cut it again in vellum inking through the die with cases izink dye ink pad.  I added the velum dragonfly over the stamped one and added crystals in the centre and on the edges of the wings.

I cut the centre panel out with the square stitch dot die matting this on a leftover piece of background made using the large media plate.

A few layers of white and lilac and the jaunty dragonfly and done.

All this needs is the appropriate sentiment.

I wanted to share this card today which is based on a fabulous card I received from the lovely Sheila in Wolverhampton after a demo I did there a few weeks ago.  I received the card in the post and it is just stunning, this is my homage to the original!

I started by making the stamped piece using the square media plate, the waves mask and blue and pink pigment inks.  I added the beautiful circle
stamp over the top stamping it repeatedly ( using my press to impress makes this so easy) using the blue and pink pigment pads.  I then stamped the dragonflies over the top and shaded through the waves make using a mix of both colours.  This really was an experiment I will try to film a quick video on this for those who miss the demo

Don't forget I  back at Inspirations in Preston today demoing products form my new range, Izink and Crafts Too.

Todays card is really simple just a panel of gold mirror card embossed with my star stream  embossing folder.  I love using this folder on mirror card as the edges allow you to emboss larger pieces without marking the card perfect with mirror card.













I simply added a selection of the Christmas Baubels form find it media along with foliage form yesterdays card.  I cut the baubles in red and white offsetting the red to give a shadow.

A few layers of red, white and gold to finish this really is a quick card!

I am at Inspirations in Preston today and tomorrow demonstrating for the 9th Birthday of the shop.  Theres loads of demonstrators at the event and even cake ( as part of the Mcmilon Coffee Morning)  Pop in and say Hi if you are around.  I will be demonstrating lots of itemise from my new ranges Including the Textures pats and some new Izink Pigment ink pads!

One of the cards and techniques I will be demonstrating today is this one which I an Idea I stole ( witghj agreement) from the fabulous Martine.  I made this based on a card she sent me a picture of ( which she has promised as my Christmas Card!)

I made the background using  the round media plate, izink dye based inks and my Winter Trees clear stamp set.  I stamped the tree in the centre using the Silver Pigment ink pad that I will be demonstrating this weekend.  Next  I framed this using my snowflake circle embossing folder by cutting the centre out first then embossing the gold dust card ( from Limetree crafts) I added a thin border of silver mirror card around the stamping and the embossing.

I finished with a bow and a selection of filigree cut in the gold dust and silver mirror card ( all from the christmas foliage set i had on my last Hochanda show)  I added silver pearl dots and layered with more of the gold dust and mirror card.

Another simple card today using the snow Ive been using all week.  This can be bought form the Art of craft which will be at the Harrogate show Today and tomorrow.

I stared this one by embossing a piece of gloss white card with the star stream embossing folder

Next I cut three of the funky trees from press cut into a piece of Christmas red lustre card.  I added a piece of double sided adhesive behind the aperture and added the snow over this to make the tress made of snow.

Finally I added some more of the Christmas ribbon ( again another art of craft purchase at a show)

Star Streamers...

A simple embossed and die cut Christmas card for today using a waste piece and the fantastic Star Stream embossing folder and a little bit of my (vast) ribbon collection.


















I started by embossing a piece of ivory card cut to 7"x7" using the star stream embossing folder, the folder is smaller than the piece but as the folder is the sift style it is easy to emboss a larger piece without getting a line around the edge of the folder.

Next I added the centre panel form another card that I had covered in the gold metal sheets.  I cut one of the funky tresss dies from a piece covered in gilding scraps ( left over form other projects).  I added this at the bottom right and then added glue before adding more of the snow.  I have had a lot of questions about the snow I am using it is a Crafts Too product however Im not sure where its available I will try to have this on my next Hochanda show!  As you can see because the gilt is real metal it has oxidised where the glue is under the snow adding a beautiful verdigris colour.

I added a strip of jingle bells ribbon ( part of a set I bought form the Art of Craft at a show) adding a bow at the bottom.


Simple but effective.

A different card form those so far this week with a more subtle look to it but still lots of snow!

I started by making the background using the same techniques as I did in this card HERE   Click the link to see how to make it using the Izink Pigment inks and my Winter Tress stamp set.

I cut the YCD10114 Yvonne Creations Celebrating Christmas - Scene from white card and framed this using the press cut stitch dot rectangle dies.  I then added acetate behind this so I could make it into a shaker card by adding fake snow in the middle.

I added a panel embossed with my Star Stream embossing folder and then added glue wherever possible and added more fake snow to give a real frosty feel.

I then cut the Crafts Too snowflakes in white card with my double sided adhesive sheets attached so that i could, again add snow!

















I made up the card as shown with layers of white and er more white with a little snow added!

Colour change...

Todays card is made using the same products as yesterday however a change of colour really makes a difference!

I started todays cad by embossing a panel of Christmas Red Lustre Print card form Crafts Too.  I embossed the panel with the same folder as yesterdays card the Snowflake Frame however this time I added gold gilding polish over the raised surface so the snowflakes shine!

As with yesterdays card I cut a wreath shape with 2 of the stitch dot circle dies this time in green.  I then cut the berry foliage in a light green and the holly in Christmas green sparkle print card, again from crafts too.  I added ranger red gloss accents to the foliage as berries which balances the red form the background.





A few layers of red, gold and green finish the card.  All it needs is the appropriate sentiment and ready for sending!

Today's card is made using the Snowflake frame and velum a simple Christmas Card that would hopefully stand out on any mantelpiece!

I started by embossing a piece of velum using the snowflake frame 6 x 6 embossing folder from my new range.  Embossing the velum with the soft folder ensures that the velum doesn't crack even if you use, as I have here, a thin craft velum rather than parchment.  This close up shows the pattern and how it is visible in all the detail.

Next I added this to a piece of red card using spray glue which ensures that glue marks don't show through on the front.  You could also stamp a sentiment in the centre at this stage I would suggest white embossing powder would look good.

Next I cut a wreath from red card using 2 circle dies.  I then added the foliage from the Find It media foliage die PM10103 Precious Marieke The Nature of Christmas Cutting Die - 

I arranged these around the circle to make, as shown, the Christmas wreath.  I used all three styles of foliage built up to make the wreath look full.

Finally I added a striped bow on the bottom to accent the colour.

snow, snow, snow...

Another card made with my new range of embossing folders today and a non christmas one used for a christmas card, just add snow!

I started by embossing a square of white card with the confetti frame embossing folder.  Next, using the Izink dye based ink pad in ultramarine, I shaded the pice to give a warm blue frame.  Next I ran over the embossed area with the Izink silver pigment ink pad which makes the dots stand out.

Next I cut the centre of the frame out using the stitch dot squares die form Press cut.  I added acetate in the aperture before adding some fake snow and a panel at the back embossed with the winter trees embossing folder.

I cut the press cut scripted Merry Christmas die and cut it into 2 words using Merry at the top and Christmas on the bottom.  I then cut the poinsettia and holly form the Find It media dies I had on the last Hochanda show and arranged these with a thin satin bow on the edge.


Finally I added a mat of blue then placed this on a piece I had run double sided adhesive tape around before adding more of the snow.

Todays card mixes the embossing folders along with the media plates and stamps form my second range of clear stamps.  A simple look that shows you don't have to waste any of the stamped pieces that aren't crisp enough for a card on their own ( this piece really didn't work around the edges hence the use with the folder)

I simply added this piece behind a die cut of the Crafts Too Snowflake die which I embossed with the snowflake frame embossing folder..
