At the Opera...

Happy Thursday Afternoon,

This is a bonus post sharing the second large die in my new release ( available on Hochanda and retailers from today) this is the Opera Box named as I feel its very dramatic!

The die cuts the base as well as the lid which has a really interesting fold once made the lid folds into the flower pattern shown in this picture.

The die set is made for making different sized boxes and the parts can be used for lots of projects so once again this will be popping up loads over the next few days and weeks.

Heres the die in the packet.  I will be sharing more samples tomorrow using the rest of the collection!

Enjoy...

They're Here! ...

Happy Thursday,

As I am sure my blog family know I started as a stamper and then moved onto Die cutting I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to design my own stamps now I have also had the opportunity to design my own dies.  This is something I have always wanted to do so whilst I am a little scared as too whether people will like them I am really proud with my first collection.

There are 6 die sets in the collection 2 large dies that make boxes and more ( which is why I called these 2 dynamic dies) and 4 additions which covers Tags, flowers foliage etc.

The first die is based on the sandwich box I made a few years ago using the spellbinders filigree delight die, this has proved to be the most popular video and post I have ever done.  This die set is designed to make the box in an easier manner than all the measuring and scoring I had to do to make the original ( Big thanx go to Jane Smith for the suggestion!!!!)

I would also like to thank June Smith, Mrs Duck and everyone else who had a sneak peak and helped with feedback!

Here is the instructional video for the die set!

This die will also make cards and other projects so you will be seeing a lot of this over the next few days and weeks.

I will reveal the next large die set at 12pm.

Heres the first die the Sandwich box...

more at 12pm....

Another Swirl...

Happy Tuesday,

Another card using the Snowflake Swirl die this time a simple card but I have to admit I love the simplicity of the colours mixed with the complexity of the die.

I started by cutting apiece of the Yale Blue lustre print card to 4.5" wide which is perfect size for the die to fit diagonally across the bottom.  I cut the die and then added a pice of scrap acetate across the bottom of the pice the cut came from and placed the die cut pice bak in.

Next I added a panel of silver glitter card, the same no shed as yesterday, along the bottom with foam top and simply added the press cut Seasons Greetings in the bottom corner.

As per usual with me I added a few mats and layers in matching colours and a sprinkling of stick on crystals.

More Snowflake Swirls...

Happy Monday,

The countdown is on to the release of my new range on Thursday, I will post a sneak peak on Wednesday however to see the full range you will need to tune into Hochanda on Thursday at either 8am, 12pm or 4pm!

Back to today and I used the Amy design snowflake swirl circle die this week I am using the pair to that die the straight snowflake swirl.  When I saw these 2 dies I couldn't choose between them so in typical crafter way I chose both!  In todays card I have used the swirl cut 4 times in Yale Blue lustre print card ( more of this on the shows on Thursday) and placed them around a frame cut in silver glitter card ( no shed from Pink Frog) and white using the stitch dot rectangle dies from press cut.

I used the frame to frame a piece i stamped at the Crafters Companion evesham store demo on Saturday.  I simply added layers of the glitter, yale blue and white card to make the finished card.  A sprinkling of crystals and finished.

Home decor...

Happy Sunday,

I have been meaning to share some of the cushions I have made using the fabulous Izink texture paste.  The texture paste can be used on any surface including fabric.  AS you can see form these cushions I used the paste on the fabric cushions ( yes I made the cushions as well!)  as the paste is permanent and machine washable these can be washed at 40' with no damage to the colours or finish!

In the first picture I used the pearl red and silver pastes along with my 12 x 12 christmas split mask which has 5 separate designs in the set of 5 masks here i used the stags and the small snowflakes.

The next picture shows a mix of different blues and silver with the elegant snowflakes and the zebra mask.

Hopefully you can see in this picture how the colours blend but do not muddy each other with the mix of the blue, teal and silver each colour visible.

Silver Snow...

Happy Friday,

Todays card is the workshop card form last week at Samuel Taylors in Embsay Skipton.  As with workshop cards I don't put full instructions on the blog however Im sure you can work out how this one was done!

The centre panel is stamped using my build a wreath clear stamp set and the izink silver metallic pigment ink pad.  I heat enmnossed this with glitter embossing powder but its not showing on the pictures, in real life it sparkles.

I'm really bust getting ready for next Thursdays launch on Hochanda its a brand new product launch so I can't wait to start showing you samples.

Autumn Feeling...

Happy Thursday,

A change form the Christmas cards today with a birthday card with a real autumnal feel.

I started by adding rude and copper izink pigment ink pads to the flat side of my winter trees embossing folder.  I embossed this to give the letterpress look where the deep red is at the top but fades down the scene.  This leaves the trees showing in white.  Next I added clear sparkle embossing powder over the top ( as i used pigment ink i was able to heat emboss over the top)  I heat set this which adds the clear coating with a sparkle in it.

I simply added the press cut happy birthday over the top shadowed with white and copper.  O matted and layered the piece using white, copper and deep red card.

Blue Scene...

Happy Wednesday,

I have to admit it isn't often I say this but I  really pleased with how this card turned out!  I know its another Christmas Card and I will be moving on to less Christmas next week however I really wanted to share this one!

I stated by letter pressing the snowflake circle embossing folder using izink pigment ink pad in navy blue.  I then stamped the centre panel using the same ink and my Christmas Scene clear stamp set.  I cut this with the stitch dot circles mating it on yale blue, silver mirror card and more of the white mounting them in the centre of the embossed panel.

I dressed this with the Amy Design poinsettia dies cut in white velum.  I used each of the three sizes of flower folded and mounted to make a really 3D poinsettia.  I added these on the top of a spray of foliage cut from dies in my stash with silver holly added between the flowers.

I framed the piece using the stitch for and plain squares form press cut in Yale blue lustre print card, white card and silver mirror card.

I mounted this onto a few layers of the blue white and silver and added it to a large 8x8" card blank.

First in Gold...

Happy Tuesday,

A very simple card today but the first card I made with my embossing folders and Stamps so I thought It was worth sharing!

I stared by stamping the sentiment and scene from the festive scene clear stamp set in Izink Pigment gold ink pad ( I stamped it three times using my press too Impress which made it really shine gold as the layers built up)

I cut this out with the press cut plain circles dies drawing around the inside of the die with a fine gold pen to add the fine line.  I matted this on antique gold card cut with the stitch dot circles again from press cut,

I then added the gold pigment ink pad to the flat side of my snowflake circle embossing folder and letterpressed a piece of white card so that I got a gold backing with white snowflakes over the top.

I simply matted this with more of the gold and white adding a bow of thin gold ribbon along with gold cord to add a highlight.

Pearl and Aqua Swirl...

Happy Monday,

I thought I had exhausted the cards I made with the find it snowflake swirl die however I found this one lurking in my files and its another way to use the die this time as a base for Poinsettias.

I used a mother of pearl card ( on my next Hochanda shows) for this card and cut the apeture in the centre before embossing the piece with my rustic frame embossing folder.  I added a layer to this in aqua cutting a smaller circle in the centre.  I backed this with a piece of white card embossed with the winter trees embossing folder.  Finally for this part I added acute behind the top layer and added the Christmas die cut ( From Press cut) on the acetate so that it appears to float.

I cut the snowflake swirl die in aqua and added this around the base of the circular aperture.  I then cut a load of poinsettias in the pearl card and added these over the swirl with bow of aqua and white seam binding over this.  I then added the fall away snowflakes from the swirl die in the centre of the flowers with a pearl in the centre.

I added all of this to a larger card as shown using the falling snow embossing folder from crafts too.

I Heart Santa...

Happy Sunday,

As usual for a Sunday, a simple stamping project for today using the heart media plate and the christmas textures clear stamp set.

I inked the text stamp form my Christmas textures clear stamp set in various colours and stamped this onto the heart media plate.  I then inked the media plate and used the same texture stamp to remove ink so that I get the shown layers of texture.

I then simply stamped over the top using stamps form the silhouettes and scene sets of my stamps.

I cut this out using the square stitch dot dies and matted this on lilac before adding to a small card blank.  Ideal for your quick cards!

The Heart of Christmas...

Happy Saturday,

A simple classic Christmas card today with the media plates izink inks and my Festive Silhouette clear stamp set ( This set is out of stock however more arrives next week)

I started by inking the heart media plate using the emerald, ultramarine and verbena izink dye based ink pads.  I used the resist technique to remove snowflakes from the plate and add them around the bottom of the card.  Next I started the heart and added snowflakes on the media plate and stamped this over the top.

Next I simply stamped some of the elements, as shown, form the silhouettes set using the trees to frame the scene as well as  black micron pen to ground the elements.

I matted this on black then white and added a large mat made with the scrap card I "cleaned' my brayer on ( this means simply running the brayer after use on the media plates over a piece of paper, it gives a really nice background.

A card blank and finished
