Christmas Bee Balm...

Happy Saturday,

Although this looks like a Christmas Card its made with non Christmas dies I love using a standard product design for one thing and use it for something else.

The bauble outline is the Pocket Watch die from the Time Flies die set.  The inside is the Smaller semi circle from the Bee Balm ovals die set cut twice.

The flowers is the Bee Balm stamp and die stamped in silver and heat embossed and cut with the matching die.  I then pinched each of the petals in turn to alter the look of the flower.  I arranged this using the Swirl Leaves and threaded the "bauble" onto bakers twine on a snowy embossed background.

Ingredients:

Flower Clock...

Happy Tuesday,

Another card made today mixing pretty and the Clock face I was determined that this die could also be used for the Classic and Elegant look I am always trying to go for!

I started by cutting the Time Flies die set ( using g the parts of the Pocket watch without the outside case die) in Ultramarine Crafts Too Linen card.  I then cut a circle using just the case die in white linen card and then mounted the blue pieces on top to make up a Blue and white clock face as shown.

Next I cut 2 panel of card slightly larger than the Bee Balm Background die and cut the die out of the centre oh each piece backing hot with mire of the blue linen card.

I arranged these onto a card blank made using my Clipped Corner Square card blank die rotating the cuts to make a square design as shown.

Finally I added crystals on the centres of the bee balm flowers on the frame and added die cut and shaped Swirl leaves to soften the edges.

Ingredients:
JND Bee Balm Background
JND Time Flies die set
JND Swirl Leaves
JND Clipped Corner Square
Crafts Too Linen card in Ultramarine and White.

Bee Balm Blue...

Happy Monday,

A complex card today that only uses 2 dies I promise its not as time consuming as it looks!

I started by cutting an extended background using the Bee Balm Background die ( without the outside edge die)  This is extended easily by cutting the background once into a pierce of card then sliding the dice down and clicking the die back over the last row of flowers ( you will feel when its in the right place honest!)

I cut the extended panel in navy twice and white once backing each panel with a different shade of blue. I then cut the 2 navy panels in half lengthways and foam mounted them stepped away from the white centre panel.

I then cut the same background die using the outside edge as well in white and this time backed it in Navy  I foam mounted this over the main piece of the card so that it frames the centre flowers that show form the piece behind.

I added pearls in the centres of all the flowers and strips of pearls along the edge of the white panel as shown.

Finally I added die cut and shaped Swirl leaves on each side, I love the fact these are mirror images so I get both sides, and spent ages deciding what to put in the middle before working out it looks fine as it is!!

Ingredients:
JND Bee Balm Background
JND Swirl Leaves
Crafts Too Linen Card mixed blue pack

Things with Wings...

Happy Friday,

A mix of techniques today with Media Plates, Stamping Heat Embossing die cutting shading you name it!

I started by making a Media Plate background using my Large Media Plate and the Butterfly and Dragonfly stamp sets using Izink Pigment ink pads.  As I had used Pigment in for the background I was able to add white glitter embossing powder over it and heat set this to add texture.

I cut my Birdcage dies and birds in pearl card and shaded them with Izink dye based inks in ultramarine and night.  I love the way the birds look when shaded as all the deboss detail shows through.

I cut just the detail dies form the large butterfly die set and added pearls in the centre before adding these on as if in flight.

I made up the card as shown using press cut Stitch Dot squares to frame the pice and give an anchor for the ribbon holding the birdcages.

Ingredients:
JND Birds and Cages die set
JND Large Butterfly die set
JND large Media Plate
JND Dragonfly and Butterfly stamp sets

Floral Watch...

Happy Thursday,

The card I am sharing today is a mix of styles and hopefully shows how mixed media style can be pretty and elegant.  Here I have mixed my Time Flies die set with the Gerbera daisy stamp and die set to make a classic look.

I stared by naming the background using a stamp made from my cogs die set and funky foam.  I heat set these with ultra which embossing powder and added mica to give the colour.  I demonstrated this technique on my last hochanda shows which you can see on rewind.

I stamped and die cut the Gerbera Daisy and coloured these using yellow and red pigment inks before shaping the flowers and adding micro beads in the centres.  I added these over the Swirl leaves die cut in gold pearl card.

I the  added  pocket watch made in silver and gold pearl card using my time flies die set tucking this behind the leaves and flowers.

Gatefold Bee Balm...

 Happy Wednesday,

I really feel that this card shows exactly the versatility I wanted to get from the Bee Balm collection.  Ive used the Ovals and the Background here to make this gatefold card.

I stared by cutting 2 extended backgrounds, one in Violet linen card and one in white  and backed them with the alternate colour.  I cut these down the centre and mounted them onto the front of a piece of A4 card folded, using the Groovy score board which has channels for this, into a gate fold card.

I then cut the Large semi circle using the detail and outline die backing them with white.  I added these on each side of the gatefold to give 2 handles to open the card.

I added  a piece made with the butterfly media plate in the centre.

Delicate cut in blue...

Happy Tuesday,

I've been asked to share this card and explain how it is made so here goes.  This card is made using just one die form the Gerbera Panel set and the outer circle dies form the Gerbera Pop Out Circle die set.  I love the detailed look on this card which is really easy to make!

I started by cutting a square of white card and then cut the triangular panel out out form one side placing the largest side against the edge of the card ( That way the die look like an envelope flap over the card if that makes sense)  I then repeated this until all four sides were cut which will meet up oj the centre of the card.

Next I adhered this to a piece of ultramarine Crafts Too Linen card and trimmed the piece into a neat square.  I then cut the largest circle from the gerbera pop out circle form this piece.  I cut a mat for this using large Press Cut circle in blue and then again in white.

Next I cut the smallest circle die form the centre of the piece using the smallest circle in the Gerbera Pop out circle set.  Again i matted this onto a circle cut with blue then white.

To make up the card I rotated each circle 90 degrees so that the pattern rotates as shown.

Ingredients:
JND Gerbera Panel die set
JND Gerbera Pop out Circle die set
Press cut Plain Circles

Stolen Flowers...

Happy Monday,

I've titled this post stolen flowers as I nicked the the technique of making the Bee Balm flower into the stunning flowers shown here form Bahnu Patel the amazing owner and crafter at Sunrise crafts.  She showed me a card made with the flowers that looked like this and I didn't even realise they were made with my die set!  And soon as I got home I had to make my version of them.

I simply cut the Bee Balm die twice in white pearl card and shaded the petals of each flower using Encre Izink dye based ink pad.  I then shaped the flowers and pinched the ends of the petals using 2 of each size of flower to kale each single flower.  I repeated this with all 6 sizes of flower ( however I like flowers in odd numbers so I haven't used the smallest flower here) adding a Crafts Too small silver Diamond in the centre of each flower so that the purple shows through.

I cut the swirling leaves in the same card and shaped these shading them with menthe Izink dye based ink pad.  I cut into the leaves and added then tucked around the flowers.

The main card was made in lilac Crafts Too linen card using the Bee Balm background extended to make a large 8" long panel.  I added a strip of ribbon across the top finishing with a bow.

I cut the largest solid butterfly in the pearl card adding a filigree butterfly, from the same set, cut in lilac over the top with gems added as the body.  I placed the butterfly over the bow making sure that it pops over the top of the card.

Ingredients:
JND Beeb Balm Background
JND Large Butterflies die set
JND Bee Balm Flowers Die set
JND Swirling leaves die set
Izink Dye ink pads in Encre and Menthe ( Ink and Mint)

Regal Flourish Waste...

Happy Sunday,

I had a fab day yesterday at Sunrise crafts It was so nice to catch up with crafters I haven't seen in ages!

I'm sharing a simple card today made with just the new Regal Flourish die set and the waste from cutting it!

I cut the 2 dies in the set twice into a piece of white linen crafts Too card I placed the dies next to each other to make a pattern.  I then backed this with Burgundy linen card and added few mats and layers as I always seem to do!

I then added the circles which are the waste form cutting the Gerbera pop Out circle with the sentiment form the small butterflies set.

Finally I added the flourishes and a small butterfly leaving me a set of the flourishes for another project.

A simple card nearly all made form waste just my ideal!

Ingredients:
JND Regal Flourish die set
JND Small butterflies die set
Crafts Too Linen card
