Its all in Black and White...

Happy Wednesday,

Weather Permitting its the monthly workshop at Crafty Corner In Breedon today.  This is the closest workshop to me and i calls it as my home workshop as we have loads of fun and its quite informal!

Back to today and I'm sharing card made using one of the background dies from the Gerbera Daisy collection as I was asked yesterday to share a card maned with them.  I used the square gerbera background to make this using it twice too make a larger card form a smaller die.

I stared by cutting the largest outline die in the set twice into a piece of lustre card .  I then added  a layer behind this using the next die in the set which has a double stitched detail to it.  Finally I added the detail die cut behind this on each panel using foam cushion for each layer to add inward depth.

I had already cut the long die form the ribbon threader set down the right hand side of the card reinserting the die to extend the pattern.  I threaded the stitch edge ribbon threaded through this with a messy bow in the centre and an embellishment form my stash.

In the Red...

Happy Tuesday,

Another sample showing the Gerbera collection this time using the Gerbera flowers die and the Gerbera panel.

This is made using the Izink Pigment inks dropped onto acetate and shows how well, once dry, this cuts and what a fabulous background it makes!

I stared by making the background using the Gold, Geranium and the pink izink pigment inks dropped onto a sheet of acetate.  I then added a further sheet over the top to spear the inks.  I separated the sheets slowly so that the pattern stays stable which makes the swirling pattern shown on the background.  For the panel I cut the Gerebera Daisy panel once down the side of a piece of white card.  Next I slotted the die back into place over 2 of the flowers and cut again so that I got a strip of 4 flowers as opposed to three on the die.

I cut the flowers from this piece of acetate using the 6 flowers together to  make 3 full flowers.  I cut a circle of the acetate and mounted this behind a smaller circle of white card ( both cut with the outline dies in the Gerbera Circle die set) on which I stamped the sentiment from the Gerbera Daisy clear stamp set.  I arranged the flowers arround this circle on top of the matching leaves which I letterpresses in grey ink and cut in red.
I made up the card as shown with layers of red and white allowing the colours of the background and flowers to shine!

White Gerbera Lattice...,

Happy Monday,

As I may have stated I have so many samples and inspiration cards for my new collection so there will be quite a few cards using the Gerbera Collection coming up ion the next few weeks!  I thought today I would share one of my favourites which I keep looking at whenever I unpack the cards for a show or demo!

I started by cutting the Gerbera Lattice into a pice of white card.  IU then made a set of frames for this using the 2 outline dies that come in the set for the inner sections of the frame and by cutting the card to size for the outside edges.

I placed this over a piece of my kitchen roll technique background made using the Izink Pigment dropper inks and a little glitter added when I was sealing the kitchen roll onto the card.

I cut the Gerbera Flower die form the remnants of this card / paper and made up three flowers using 2 dies cuts for each flower  using the nearest in size ( What I mean is if I number the largest flower 1 and the smallest 6 therefore the flowers are made by using 1 & 2, 3 & 4 and 5 & 6)

I added Crafts Too Diamonds in red in the centre and added the flowers over a bow of pink twine.

I made up the card as shown using the larger size of red diamond ( you get both sizes in the pack) in the centres of the lattice and finished with layers of the white too let the background sing!

Cork Flowers...

Happy Sunday,

Ive had a fantastic couple of days at the Art of Craft mini show in Farnborough thank you to everyone who came along for the workshops and the demos!

I thought id share a simple card today that look like it is made with the Gerbera lattice die but it using its a trick of the eye.

I used the Gerbera Panel die and cut it across the middle of a piece of white card.  I then rotated the die and cut it form top to bottom.  This can thin the petals of the middle flower but it isn't noticeable if you don't know!

I then cut out the panel from a piece of cork from Crafters Companion.  I mounted the white piece over the remainder of the cork and placed the cork flowers in the corners.

Finally I added a small white gerbera over a bow of twine and added pearls in the centres of all the flowers.

Ribbon Frame...

Happy Saturday,

Dont forget I am demoing with the fabulous jenny and Jane today at the Art of Craft mini show in Farnborough ( More details on facebook!)

I thought i would share a card made using a mix of dies from my new collection but focusing on the ribbon threader die set which you will see popping up on loads of cards as its just soooo flexible!

I used the corner and joiner piece form the ribbon threader die set to cut a square of ribbon thread loops into a piece of white card.  I then cut this out using the press cut stitch dot square dies.  I then threaded the gingham ribbon through the slots finishing with a knot at one corner.

I made a larger frame for this using the press cut plain squares in lilac and placed a gerbera daisy on opposing corners cut in glitter foam and finished with a flower brad.

I cut the gerbera square frame in the lilac and added this behind the frame which fits perfectly ( its almost like they were all sized to fit together doesn't it!)

I foam mounted this over an embossed piece pop wisteria card and added more mats and layers in the 3 colours to frame the card.

White Gerberas...

Happy Friday,

I'm back on my travels today for the workshops today and the Mini Show at the Art of Craft in farnborough tomorrow.  There is the wonderful Jenny Mayes from Hobby Art as well as the fantastic Jane Smith so loads to see at the show!

Back to today and I thought id share this white on white card made using my new Gerbera Daisy collection.

I started by cutting the daisy lattice in ice silver lustre print card.  I extended the pattern by slotting the die back in lower down to turn the square panel into a rectangular one.  I spray glued this down to another piece of the ice silver card so that the pattern is looks like it is embossed rather than die cut.  I then cut this out with the press cut Stitch Dot rectangles which are the perfect size for this.  I next wrapped strips of organza ribbon arround this piece before matting and layering onto more of the white.

I cut the Gerbera Daisy die twice which gave 2 12 individuals flowers which I layered upon to look like Gerberas with a large outside set of pew talks and an inward turning smaller set of petals.  I used glue and white microbeads for the centres of the flowers.  I placed these on the junction of the crossed ribbon over a messy bow.  Finally I added 3 hat pins to accent the flowers and added stick on pearls in the centres of the gerbera panel.

Yellow Daisies...

Happy Thursday,

Today's card is made using the new Gerbera Lattice background die, you will be seeing a lot of samples with this one as I found I couldn't put out down!!

This was such an easy technique to do as i simply cut the lattice out using watercolour card.  I then spritzed the card with water and added the Izink pigment dropper inks in the centre of each flower.  As the piece dried the colour floated out form the centre giving a lovely ombre look to the flowers ( this was my first try at this technique so some are better than others!)

I stamped the Gerbera Daisy stamp with perfect medium and heat set it with the fine clear Izink embossing powder.  I cut this out, with one die which I love, using the Gerbera Daisy die and shaded the edges of the flowers using more of the ink on a finger dauber.

I used the reverse die cut from the with love tag so it showed yellow on white and set not together with a nice messy bow and a few plain hat pins.

Gerbera Daisy Sneak Peak...

Happy Monday,

As promised today's card is  a sneak peak of my new Gerbera Daisy Collection of dies and matching stamps that launches tomorrow at 6pm on Hochanda!

What better to start with than a white on white card using ice silver lustre and gold lustre card!

Im not listing the details or the method on this one but it will get a full showing tomorrow night on Hochanda and get its full day on the blog.

The eagle eyed amongst my Blog Family may notice the similarity with the bonus Gerbera flower die included in the Opera Box die set,.  That was the base for this whole collection there are backgrounds, sentiments, flowers and lots more.

There are also some brand new concepts in the collection designed to make crafting easier, quicker and more flexible I really can't wait to show you all what I have been working on.

Id love to hear what you think to this first sneak peak there is so much more to come!

Running out...

Happy Sunday,

Today is the last leg of the Crafters Companion marathon with me being in the evesham store today again demoing and playing.  I have titles todays post Running Out because I am running out of projects to post.  Tomorrow will  see the first sneak peak for the launch of my new Die Collection on Hochanda tuesday night at 6pm!  This means that I have been manically making samples using the new range and have got to the point where I am running out of projects I can share on the blog!

I hope you don't mind but today I thought I would share a couple of tags I made over the last couple of months using my sandwich box die set and the starflower dies and leaves.

The first one is made using silver gilt and the second using up a piece of scrap card I cleaned my brayer on.  I love using this scrap card for flowers as the colours are so random and make unique flowers.

Join me from 6am tomorrow to see the first reveal from my new Gerbera Daisy collection.

Two Hearts

Happy Saturday,

Day 2 of the Crafters Companion road trip finds me today In the Chesterfield store so pop along and see what Im playing with!

Back to today and this is a card I made as a demo for the Hochanda shows earlier in the month but never got to!  I used the wonderful Izink spray dyes to make the paper for the inset hearts I love the intensity of the course and the effects you get from juts spraying the ink onto the card.

Cut the smaller stitch dot heart twice into a piece of ice silver lustre card.  Then cut 2 heart frames, again using the stitch dot hearts in black card and mounted these over the apertures I had created.  I cut the bird and branch in black and cutting off the birdhouse that comes with the die I added this across the top so that the hearts appear to be hanging from the tree branch.

To emphasise this I drew lines, using a thick black alcohol pen, from the branch to the hearts.

Back to today and another card made using the flower foam and matching dies form Leane Creatief this time in a warm yellow and orange colour.

I made up the flowers as yesterdays instructions however I used yellow and orange izink pigment ink for the shading.  And placed the spray on the inked wreath and Peacock feather media plate background.
