Yellow Buttercups...

Happy Wednesday,

Another foam sample flower today however this is made in the Bee Balm Flower I love how different this looks form Mondays card which uses the same die the foam really does breathe now life into your dies!

I used orange pigment ink ( Not a colour I would usually use) to shade arround the Bee Balm background and the flowers I love ow the colour looks so different when used on the warm yellow foam.

A gentle vellum butterfly helps the delicacy of this card.

Yellow Daisies...

Happy Tuesday,

I thought I would continue the Pretty Theme with a card made with the Gerbera Daisy and the Gerbera Daisy collection.  This time the flowers are in the new Craft Artist foam which I didn't think would work with the Gerbera but it dies really well and adds a new dimension to this flower.

All i had to do for these was cut the die in the soft yellow foam and make up the flower with stamens in the centre ( its works just as well with a brad) and add a little yellow pigment ink on the edges of the flower ones made up.

The leaves are a sneak peak of new Foliage dies I have launching on hochanda next week!

Christmas Friday...

Happy Friday,

I thought it was time I reintroduced Christmas Friday where I post a festive inspiration project every friday.

Todays project is made using the cut and emboss folders this time the baubles and I have made a separate shaker element for each of the three baubles.  I cut the folder firstly in watercolour card then twice more in funky foam ( Available form all good craft shops)  I Spray glued the card front to a piece of acetate and then added the two layers of foam behind.  This makes separate shaker cups that here I filled with microbeads and stars.

I finished the card with some gentle shading in blue and the Swirl ivy in green and a poinsettia cut in vellum and shaded in blue.

Rhapsody in Blue...

Happy Thursday,

Something a little traditional and my style today with a card with flowers not made with the foam ( well you can have foam overload lol)  The flowers are my Bee Balm made in pearl card and shaded with navy pigment ink pads

I started by cutting the Bee Balm rectangle in white pearl  card four times and shading around the edges with the Navy pigment ink.  I backed these with vellum and mounted them as shown to make the larger square pattern.  I added gems in the centre of the flowers which to me gives these a real daisy look.

I cut the Bee Balm flower die in more of the pearl card and gently shaded around each petal and the centre of each flower before inching the ends of the petals and making them up with 3 or 4 layers in each flower.  I added a centre and positioned these on the side with some of the bee balm matching leaves shaded in green pigment ink.

I made up the card as shown with slayers of shaded white and navy blue with the sentiment tag ( a piece form the centre of the rectangle die) again stamped and shaded in the blue.

I love the fresh look of this card,

Autumn Feeling...

Happy Wednesday,

Today I am sharing a card, again made with the poinsettia, but that to me has a real autumn feeling to it with the flowers made in peach foam with brown pigment ink edges.

I made the background card using my Bee Balm ovals matching the large semi circle die against itself to make a circle of flowers for the centre.  I shaded through the die with brown Izink Pigment ink pad and an ink blending tool so that the pattern of the flowers show.  I cut this to a square and matted and layers as shown.

The flowers are made by cutting peach Craft Artist foam ( launching on Hochanda on the 6th November) and i simply twisted the petals to elongate each petal to give a dissipated flower as shown.  I added green stamens in the centre and placed these on a collection of leaves.

I made the card as shown which has, to me at least, a real autumnal feel!

In the Blue...

Happy Tuesday,

Todays card uses more of the new Flower Moulding foam from Craft Artist for Crafts Too this time from the Winter pack.  Here I have tied it with navy blue Izink pigment ink and a cornflower card to make this bright blue card.

I made the background using the rectangle form my Bee Balm collection and backed this in white before making up the card as shown with navy striped ribbon.

Next I made up the flowers using my poinsettia die but I really feel these look more like lilies than poinsettia.  I shaded the ends of the petals with Izink navy pigment ink pad and shaped the petals with m,y fingers ( The foam can be moulded with heat but doesn't need it) and made up the flowers using a little diamond glitter and green Crafts Too Stamens.  I will be demoing the techniques and the foam on Hochanda on the 6th November .

I arranged the flowers across the centre of the card as I felt that no sentiment is needed, this card would brighten anyones day!

Square Poinsettia...

Happy Monday,

Today's creation is made using my Lantern die however I have used just 4 of the 6 panels to make a taller square box with the christmas tree stained glass die ( included in the set) simply cut form the front.  I have also used the Brand New Moulding foam form Craft Artist ( Christmas pack) to make the poinsettias flowing down the box, don't they look different in foam?

I made ups the lantern in 300gsm watercolour cared to add  little texture to the lantern and instead of using all six panels I cut 2 panels away to make the square box.  The great thins about this die is that the top is designed to fit whether you use 3, 4, 5 or 6 panels giving ultimate flexibility.

I cut the Christmas Tree stained glass die for the front panel and used the rectangular window die form the other 2 sides leaving the back solid.  All I would do to display this is add a candle ( battery powered of course)

The flowers are cut using my Poinsettia die cut form the new Craft Artist Flower moulding foam that launches on Hochanda on the 6th November.  The great thing about this foam is that you don't need heat to mould this, although you can use it, I simply moulded and twisted the petals in my hands making the flowers easy to make whilst sat in for of the TV.

Ive added a picture here of what the flower looks like if you use the stamp as well as the die which adds a level of details.

Sail Away...

Happy Tuesday,

Sorry for the delay in todays blog post and the interruption in the blog posts over the last couple of weeks.  The Internet where I live is getting very slow and the picture software I use has crashed meaning I have to change the way I do things  We are hoping to move by Christmas and so whatever temporary fix I put in place it will be temporary!  Hopefully I will continue to blog though for the next few weeks it may not be as frequent as it has been for the last 5 years.  Part of the issue is time being so heavily involved in the John Next Door brand has really limited the time I have to blog ( and lost of other things) so there may be some periods of missing posts whilst I try to get on top of everything and pack ready to move to our new home!

Back to today and I am back on hochanda tomorrow night at 6pm with the launch of the Ione Day Special all about Izink!

I've been wanting to do a set of shows covering all of the fabulous Ink products form this brand and so over tomorrow and thursday I will get the chance to share knowledge tips and techniques.
There is also a Brand New storage system for the ink pads launching as so many people have asked for racks that fit the pads.  Also new storage and tool from the Fabulous Crafts Too so it will be a set of jam packed shows!  I am sharing a couple of samples made for demo on the show today which use a mix of the Pigment and dye ink pads as well as the new Izink Ink pens ( these are fab I cat wait to are them with you!) which I used for all the colour on this card

Happy Tuesday,

Due to technical problems (again!) todays blog post is delayed and should be back at 12 lunchtime sorry x
