Festive Die Release 2016...

I thought I should share some of the samples I have made using the fabulous new Festive die range designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions.

the first sample today is made using the Ornate Holly Framed Peace die along with the Bold Snowflake Flurry, two of my favourites form the die launch ( although its hard to choose as one of my blog family said all of them are her favourites!)  There is also a little sneak peak in here as the stamp is form my new Christmas Range which I will be sneak peaking form Monday next week!










I stared by making the background using the Midnight Blue, Purple Violet and silver shine pixie powders.  The technique for this is one I am currently work shopping so I don't want to give too much away!  I added Silver Moon gilding flakes and some of the little snowflakes that come in the set.  There is even a little diamond snow in there as well ( talk about throwing everything at something!)  I will be demoing this very soon and am planning my first new Video on this one!

I stared by cutting a piece of watercolour card to which I had added the midnight blue and Purple violet pixie powders to with the largest snowflake in the bold snowflake set.  I covered it in spare glue and added diamond snow highlight the detail.  I cut the next size false in bright white card and the final one in a scrap of the pixie powdered piece.  I stacked these with mounting cushion and added stick on diamante ( form the wedding collection from Craft Consortium)  at the points and in the centre.

I added this to the edge of the frame I made with the pierced background rectangles cut in bright white.  I stamped the sentiment in jet black archival ink ( wait till Monday to find out which set this is from lol) on more of the pixie powder paper and cut it with the medium pierced flags die.

Next I cut the Ornate holly framed piece die in bright white foundation card, sprayed it with glue and added more of the diamond snow.  I cut the largest oval in the set in the pixie powder paper then the smaller oval in bright white.  I stacked these with Mounting Cushion and added some more of the diamante to accent the sentiment.








I made up the card as shown using Bright white and black to allow the background and focus element to be framed.

Pastel Polish...

It seems its the week for new releases form Creative Expressions with the stunning new festive collection from Sue Wilson, if you missed any of the beautiful samples view Sue's blog HERE.  I will be showcasing some of the samples I have made using the from Tomorrow and Monday brings the start of the Sneak Peaks for may new Christmas Ranges!  However back to today and its another new release and as the blog title suggests its all about the new collection of Pastel colours added to the Cosmic Shimmer Metallic Gilding Polish!

I have, of course, made a card to highlight three of these shades and have added a few more pictures of some of the colours.

Shown here are the Blossom, Powder Blue and Enchanted gold and I have to say that the colours in real life are not as bright as shown the flash just kept wanting to go off with the amount of shine in these.

I have used to polish to colour MDF ribbon spools, MDF Ovals, Seam Binding as well as the pearl section of the stick pins!

The full colour range is:
Enchanted Gold
Powder Blue
Blossom
Pistachio
Fern Green
Graphite
Lavender

Back to todays card and it is all made with bright white foundation card and the polish!  I stared by colouring a piece of card using the Powder blue, Lavender and the blossom gilding polishes.  I then simply cut the background pieces ( using the Double pierced background rectangles set)  I the  added panel cut in bright white using the Belgian collection background.  The centre panel is embossed velum coloured with the powder blue polish!

I cut the flowers form the waste using the equisite poppies set and added the centre panel, stamped in watering can with a sentiment from my Larkspur sentiment set, across the middle.  I made up the flowers to look more like Iris's and added bows of blue and lilac to match.

A Fancy Fan...

I thought I had shared this card with you all however after a look through my blog for the last 3 months I cant find it.  Therefore I apologise if you have seen this already!

This was one of the first cards I made with the double pierced oval dies designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions.  As I am sure you know I have a soft spot for Ovals ( still loving the Austrian Collection!)   I love the way that this set will match with previous Oval sets released by Sue but this in perfectly, as used here, with the Geneva die from the Swiss Collection.

I teamed frames form the double pierced cut in varying sizes in periwinkle and coconut white and the dies in the geneva set.  The large band of piercing comes from the Geneva set which has this large oval with the random pierced elements around it.

The main feature of this card is the fan on the base which is the easiest part!

To make the fan I simply cut the larger die from the ornamental accents die ( from the configurations collection) in coconut white. I the cut just the outline form periwinkle and added the two together.  I repeated this until I had 5 of the fan shapes and then 'hooked' them together to make the fan effect. This happens quite easily honest!

Tons of pearls and pearl strips, a set of messy bows in silky crush white and bluebird thin satin ribbon to embellish.  Next I made this into a large ( almost A4 in size I'm afraid) with an embossed layer and a few mats and layers.

A complex looking card that is worth the effort!

Blue Lattice...

One of my favourite cards using the Lattice Background die that I love so much!






















I cut the lattice section twice, once in periwinkle and once again in bright white foundation card.  I then offset these to make the argyle pattern and added a frame, using the stitched rectangles in the set, in the bright white.

Next I cut the gillian die in white and backed it with blue studding it with pearls.  I cut the lace edged leaves and added these before adding the requisite poppies.  For the poppies I cut each size die rice and edged them with Frosted Sky colour cloud blending ink with a mini smoothie.  I shed the petals and made up the flowers using different sized petals for each flowers.  I cut the centres, coloured them with the same colour cloud and shed these before adding them in the centre with a pearl.

I embossed a large panel with the floral brocade embossing folder and highlighted the embossing with Pearl Lustre metallic gilding polish.  A few more layers of whiote and periwinkle, pearl corners and stick on pearls and finished.

More Kitchen Foil...

Another show sample today this one using a variation of the Kitchen Foli technique I came up with a couple of months ago.  This time I embossed the foil covered card ( just Kitchen Foil spray glued to foundation car) and rubbed Jet Black Archival ink over the surface.  Next I added matt clear embossing powder and heat set this to make the tarnished metal look shown here.

Something Different Saturday...

There are probably far too many pictures on todays post but I got a bit camera happy with this box.  I made this box for my let lockers loose show to highlight a different technique with gilding fakes and I have to admit I love how it has come out.

I stared by covering all the parts of the MDF treasure box using fake and glitter glue and cut n dry foam.  I left the glue for about 5 minutes to make the glue key to the surface.  It takes a little bit longer on MDF to go off but the best way to tell is that the glue goes clear form a blueish colour.

Next I added Verdigris gilding flakes form Cosmic Shimmer and smoothed off the excess with Rubit Scrubit.

Next I covered the other side of each of the pieces then glued the box together using Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue ( its great that the same glue I use for papercxrafts works just as well for MDF)  Once together I used the flake and glitter highlighter to add gilding flakes to the edges that join the box.

I then added the metal corners from Creative Expressions again using cosmic shimmer glue.

I used some of the metal leaf embellishments in the centre.  I then added gold silk roses and threaded some of the small metallic linx in gold around the centrepiece.

Well after all the sell out from yesterday and the Let Lockers Loose shows on wednesday Im sure you will all understand that its a short post form today as I am well and truly very tired lol!

I thought I would show all the samples I made for the wintervtress and pine tress to allow everyone who managed to get a set to see some of the cards I came up with with them.

Mixing Shows ...

I hope those of you who watched me being let loose on Hochanda yesterday enjoyed the shows as much as I did.  Dont forget Im back on today with the Justrite One Day Special at 9am, 12pm, 4pm and last chance at 7pm.

I thought today I would show a card that I made yesterday morning for the let lockers loose shows that mixes the amazing Justrite pine tress dies and stamps with the polished silk glitter and some of the techniques I showed.  If you missed the glitter show you can watch on catch up HERE.

Im hoping to show how to make the glitter trees later in one of todays shows.  The background was made using the double sided

adhesive sheets and mask technique I showed.

Winter Trees...

I hope some of you can tune in this afternoon and evening as I have a slew of shows on Hochanda Today and tomorrow.  As I mentioned they are letting me loose for 2 hours at lunchtime from 2pm on channel 39.  Then I am back at 8pm for the launch of the one day special with brand new Justrite stamps and dies.  I thought I would show you a selection of the card I have all ready to demo using the winter trees dies and stamps.

Let Lockers Loose...

As I am sure regular viewers of Hochanda will know that Leonie is on holiday this week, therefore she won't be able to be let loose tomorrow.  I have been asked to stand in and so tomorrow I will be doing a two hour shows, in leonie's shadow, called let Lockers Loose ( Lockers being my nickname).  I will be doing a 2 hour demo and technique heavy show all about Gilding and Glitter something that I love and that we don't use often enough or show all the different techniques possible.











I have added a few pictures of the samples I have made for the show or pulled out ffom my vaults.  The idea of the show is to demo the techniques I used to make the projects so that I can get as much as possible in!




The first card is made using the stunning Cosmic Shimmer Polished Silk Glitter.  An amazing glitter that is like silk and can do more techniques than I would ever have imagined!

The next projects are using various colours of Cosmic Shimmer Gilding flakes again in a variety of techniques!  To see how these were done tune in on Wednseday at 2pm till 4pm!

For Barbara...

I have promised that I would blog this card to a lovely lady called Barbara that I met at Inspirations in Preston, I'm so sorry its taken so long to blog.  I made this card as one of my Design Team cards for Creative Expressions however with changes to the blog It didn't get posted in time!

I stared by cutting  a strip of card the same width as the Dorado Gemini die.  I then cut the filigree and bottom cutting edge form this strip and offset it on a piece of rich plum cut using just the cutting edge.

Next I cut 2 of the Milford Adornment twice in coconut white foundation card mounting them onto pieces cut in rich plum using just the outline die in the set.  I glued these to the top and bottom of a strip of the white I had stamped with the sentiment ( from my Daisy clear stamp set) in watering can archival.

To cover the join I cut a strip of double self adhesive pearl strips in two and placed one strip on each edge.

I also added a bow of thin matching ribbon in the raisin and white collars adding a pearl in the centre.

To finish I scored a piece of the coconut white on my score pal and added this to the bottom making yup the finished card as shown.

Once again I'm sorry its taken a while but i hope this is ok Barbara!

Creative Expressions Sunday

Well its been awhile since I submitted a card for my spot on the Creative Expressions design team as there have been some changes over on the blog and there are even more exciting things to come.  I thought I would show this card today as I made out specifically for the June Gallery on the blog and forgot to post it!
