Simple Lattice...

Happy Tuesday...

After yesterdays opulent card I thought I would share a simpler card today made using the Bora Bora die and the scalloped lattice die.

To start I cut the lattice die over a sheet of vanilla pearl foundations card slotting the die back in to repeat the pattern.  I then used the hexagonal die from the set into this to cut an aperture.

I cut the outline and detail die from the Bora Bora set in ivory pearl foundations card and backed this with vanilla.  I then cut the centre out using the hexagonal die in the set.

I adhered this over the aperture cut in the background.  Next I used the centre die form the Fiji set and cut this into a piece of blue dusk foundation card and foam mounted the top piece over this.  I the  added a layer of ivory cut with the final die in the Fiji set foam mounted this behind and added stick on pearls in 3m and 5mm,

To kale up a the card I made a set of frames using vanilla and ivory and the noble double pierced dies set A and B and added layers of the colours used to make yup the card as shown!

Below Pixie Nasturtiums...

Happy Monday,

Due to the problems with pictures disappearing form my blog I can't be sure if I have shared this card but I don't think so lol

I stared by making a sheet of pixie powdered watercolour card using the Burnt Orange and straw yellow colours.  I sprayed water all over the card and took a print off using a piece of bright white card. I used a pice of blue white seam binding to mop up the excess liquid which creates the beautiful shaded ribbon used on the front.

I started by cutting a square of bright white foundation card with the linear elegance edger die.  I rotated the die 90' and cut it again repeating the process until I got the square pattern around the edges.  Next I cut the edges of this piece using the edge die from the same set.  I backed this with the watercolour card show that the patterns and colour shows through the die cuts.

I then cut the outline and detail die ( dos 1 and 2) from the Tahiti die set in bright white and backed it with more of the pixie powdered paper.  I cut the die again in reverse with pixie front and white background and rotated it behind the first die cut.  If you look carefully you can see this opposing out its more obvious in real life!

I cut the next dies in the set in white, backed with the paper and layered these up with foam tape.

I tied a messy bow using the seam binding I made and added nasturtiums over this cut in the pixie paper and topped with the open petal dies in white adding stamens in the centre.  I cut the autumn leaf trio swirls in the pixie pare and added these behind the flowers.

Saturday Colouring...

Happy Saturday,

The show starts properly today over in Frankfurt so hopefully I might get a look around If I see anything exciting I will share it on Instagram and hopefully Facebook.

Its Saturday which means another go at colouring and todays card is another stamp to die for as I have had so much fun colouring these in and the fact the die cuts them out really appeals to me!

I chose the matching stamp to the Bora Bora die for today and a stamp to die for called the Spring Flower Wreath ( perfect name really lol)  I coloured it with my Graphmaster alcohol pens using the following colours...
Yellows - 32, 45 & 49
Pinks - 26, 28 & 29
Blue / Purple - 77 & 84

I used warm grey to highlight the flowers and four the background in WG1 and WG3

Once coloured I cut the image using the matching die and stamped the sentiment in the centre in black.

I made the backing by cutting the centre panel from the Butterfly background die four times in white card.  I backed these in primrose foundations card and foam mounted them as shown to make this square of squares background.

I added a few stick on pearls ( white 5mm) and a messy bow of lemon and purple.

H.M.S. Creative Expressions...

All Aboard!

As promised here is an extra post showing the Stand we have at Creativeworld here in Frankfurt to launch the new Ranges from Creative Expressions.  The theme is a really ship / beach theme so I think of it as the H.M.S. Creative Expressions.  Below are some pictures of the stand before and during the set up, I will try to post later in the week some pictures of me demoing and some of the samples I have come up with along the way!

My demo station for the duration of the trip, as you can tell I haven't even stared yet as its tidy!!!

Here's a couple of photo collages of the setting up and almost completed stand, enjoy....

Vintage Friday...

Happy Friday,

Its that time of the week again and this week Ive selected some of the dies from the Californian Collection I seem to be following the relates at the moment as this was the third collection form Sue Wilson's first release of dies for Creative Expressions!  I have loved playing with this collection and can see so many great ideas in it so you may see this collection popping up more!

I stared by cutting the background twice into a piece of vanilla pearl foundations card slotting the die back into the design to continue it as a square.  I cut the centre out with the Beverly hills die and mounted this over midnight blue pearl foundations card.  I do think it was when i bought this background die and cut out for the first time that I really feel for Sue's designs!

Next I cut the first three dies form the Beverly hills die in vanilla and backed it with midnight.  I foam mounted this above background to create depth.  I added a label from one of the other sets ( sorry not sure which one at time of writing) cut in vanilla in the centre and added s amped stitched flag coming form the aperture.

I cut all of the Faux Quilled blooms from midnight pearl card and the leaves ( from the same set) in vanilla and arranged these around the frame.

Finally I added a couple of stick pins made with the Stick Pin elements and added layers of the vanilla and midnight to make this 7.5 x 7.5" smaller than it looks, card!

More Drama...

Happy Thursday,

I'm into my first full day at Paperworld in Germany today setting up the Creative Expressions stand.  Follow me on Instagram or Facebook to see pictures of the stand going together and the show!

Today's card is using similar dies to yesterdays and is, in its own way dramatic, but the switch to a main coconut white card front really settles this!

I stared b cutting the outline die from the Love Hearts diagonal die into a 5" x 7" piece of coconut white foundation card.  I then carefully placed all three cut pieces into the Victorian Tiles 5 x 7 embossing folder and embossed the pieces.  Next I removed the strip from the centre of the diagonal cut and covers the pattern with enchanted gold metallic gilding polish.

I added a piece of red behind this which I had cut with the detail die form the Love Hearts set.  I foam mounted the white pieces above this and , using the edge die with this set, I cut and added 2 borders of black.

For the main element I cut the detail centre die form the Tessa die in red then in the white.  This gives the red detail and the fall away form the white piece fits perfectly in the centre.  I stamped the sentiment ( I love this draft font and have used it on loads of my own clear stamp sets) and backed the piece in black.

I made up the three smallest poppies in the requisite poppies set colouring the edges of the petals with archival ink in black and a mini smoothie.  I added a 3mm black pearl in the centre and arranged these on a spray of the Olive Branch die cut in black.

Dramatic or what...

Happy Wednesday,

As you read this I will be setting off the the paper world, Creative World and Christmas world show in Frankfurt ( if you are reading this at 6am lol) during the show I will be taking pictures and posting on Instagram and Facebook all the things I see and will hopefully blog an extra post on Friday showing the Creative Expressions stand coming together!

Well I did do less drama with yesterdays card so I thought a more dramatic use of teal is due!  This is a simple card and could be made in any colour and look so different!

I stared by cutting a square of Teal foundation card ( I think this is the last of the teal samples I have some new colour combinations ready for the new release of SW die range)  I then cut the Lavish Swirls diagonal die into this in 2 panels using just the detail die.  I foam mounted this in black and added a couple of layers of black and teal to make the design framed.

I then cut all the dies in the Gillian frames and tags set in teal and backed them in black repeating the process for the centre 2 dies.

To finish I added a messy bow in Black seam binding, a spray of black metallic linx and a few black pearls to highlight the design!

Softer Teal...

Happy Tuesday,

A softer teal card today as its tied in with coconut white and is relatively simple ( I know I always say that but the dies really do all the work for you!)

I stared by cutting a panel of coconut white and cut the Aquira gemini die into the bottom using the detail and the bottom die.  I then cut just the detail out of the top form the Hannah frames and tags die.  I then added a panel of embossed coconut white embossed with then linda leaves 5 x 7" embossing folder.

Next I cut the inline die form the hannah in teal and added the detail in white above the stamped sentiment (from my autumn wreath elements clear stamp set)

I added a few layers of Teal and white and a few stick on pearls to finish.  I love the non fussy look of this no bow or embellishments needed!

Black and Gold...

Happy Monday,

It's a black and gold card today made with the configurations dies.  I love the fact that these small dies can be used to make a whole large card just with a few cuts and layers!

I stared by cutting the Lattice Arched Adornment die twice in black gold card.  I added these to a strip of the back gloss that I had cut the detail pattern form the Caribbean collection border die into the centre.  I baked the centre with  antique copper pearl foundation card and added the whole pice too a layer of the antique gold pearl foundations card.

I then cut the detail and outer die from the caribbean accent tag ( which is included in the border set) twice in black gloss and backed one with copper and one with gold.  I rated these to make the pattern as shown and added these to the centre.
For the main card I cut a piece of black gloss with the swirl stripe edger at the top and the oval input die from the same set at the bottom.  I backed this with copper and added a larger mat of the gold.

Finally a few layers of gold, copper and black and finished.  I know this card really needs a sentiment but I do have a habit of making cards without so IU can add a sentiment when I decide who and what occasion I am sending it for!

Frosty Aqua Pixies...

Happy Sunday,

Today's card is another sample from last weekends shows on hochanda this card was demoed in the configurations shows on the Sunday so take a look on rewind at www.hochanda.com if you would like to see how it was made.

The brilliant thing I love about this card is the mixture of the Diamond Frost against the backdrop of the pixie powdered paper the interference in the diamond frost just makes the paper shine.

The dies used are the Cepheus Gemini die along with Hannah form the frames and tags collection.

The flowers are simply the requisite poppies cut in pixie powdered velum ( I used Teal Wash, Pewter and Aqua Lagoon) which are scrunched up to look carnation like.  I finished the flower with a sprinkling of the Diamond Frost adhered with cosmic shimmer dries clear glue.

Saturday Colouring...

Happy Saturday,

I love the stamps to die for that match the dies and yet I haven't coloured them much.  Now I have learnt some techniques from Lisa Horton ( and when stuck I text her for colour choices!) I feel like I can give colouring them a go!

For today's colouring Saturday I chose the  Cherry Blossom Branches stamps which matches the Tahiti die perfectly.

I stamped the image in black then coloured it in using the following Graphmaster colours
Flowers - 77, 84 & Blue Grey 3 Leaves - 46, 47 & 48

I used the Blue Grey ( This is a fab range of colours as the grey has a blue tone to it making it match perfectly) to run around the inside and outside borders.

I wanted a simple card to set off the stamped image which I had cut out using the matching die.  I cut the squares section from the Lotus striplet for times into a piece of bright white foundation card and from mounted this over a piece of blue dusk matted with iris.

I cut the lotus striplet separately in white and backed this with the iris and placed it, as shown, across the pattern and added the Tahiti stamped image in the centre.

For the focal element I didn't want to take away form the flowers so i simply added 2 pearl swirls to a Craft Consortium heart charm and added this in the centre.

Vintage Friday Kitchen Sink...

Happy Friday,

Ive titled today's post Kitchen Sink because I felt, as I was making this, as if I was throwing everything at this card however I love the way it has come out!  Todays "vintage" collection is the Spanish collection namely the Background and Border, corner and tag.

I stared by cutting the border strip twice in bright white and backed it with brunswick green.  I then cut the background into white and backed this with more of the green.   I added the borders down each side and added the whole piece to a larger set of layers in white and green.

Next I cut another border in white backed with a larger piece of green and set some of the other dies in the Spanish Collection to back the spanish tag cut in green i the centre.  I wrapped this across the front of the card adding rhinestones in a strip and in the edges.

The card still appeared to be a little plain ( I'm not sure whether you will agree lol) so I added the trailing ivy die cut in green and camellia complete petals shaped with a rhinestone in the centre cut in white along the foliage.

A very busy card but I do like the simplicity of the colour and the flowers!

More Teal...

Happy Thursday,

As I always say with this colour choice I know its not everyones cup of tea but I can't stop posting these cards as I just love the colour sorry!

I stared by cutting the Dorado gemini using the bottom edge die from a long strip of the Teal Foundation card.  I added a piece of coconut white card the same size cut at the bottom using the outline die and added the teal on top.   I then cut a larger strip of black and cut a thin border using just the outline bottom die.

Next I cut the detail die form the Tessa Die into the top of the teal card adding the next outline die in the set.  I then cut into the white layering the next die in the set and added the black back panel with foam tape behind.

For the base layer I embossed apiece of coconut white card with the victorian tile embossing folder and highlighted the embossing using the graphite gilding polish.  Finally I added layers of the black and white and a stretched tag of white and black form the aperture.
