Miles More...

Happy Saturday,

I'm in Strikes Garden Centre in Northallerton today so if you are around pop in and say hi!  I will be demoing all the dies form this weeks shows as well as a little Christmas!  Its a short post today I'm afraid as i seem to be racing from one location to another again lol

I thought you might like to See one of the samples from yesterdays shows on Hochanda,  I demoed this in the blues but I have to say whilst i love my china blues I think this came out really well in this peach, white and black combination.

I coloured the stamped images in the markers I had on the show and used the fabulous resist ink form Creative Expressions and cosmic shimmer to remove some of the colour form the centre flowers to give the washed out look.
More tomorrow...

Last Leg...

Happy Friday,

I thought you might like to see another of todays demos.  I believe I will be demoing this at 9am this morning so if you want to see how I got this different look from the wonderful Heraldic square die - designed by Sue Wilson, then tune in.

The shows are at 9am, 12pm, 4pm and last chance at 7pm before the new One Day Special launches at 8pm.

I simply used the Pierced Squares ( you will be seeing a lot of cards made with this as Its fast become, along with the rectangles, my go to die to start any card!  I love the way it makes the faux pierced layer in your cards and just adds that finishing touch.  I will also be demonstrating how to emboss card whilst it is still in the die which gives the flat edge along with an embossed panel ( as long as I get it right that is!)

I hope you can join me as I have lots more demo's planned!

The winner of this weeks Card Giveaway is Dawn Holden!  If you want to email your address to I will post the ginger cards out to you dawn!

Showing Tonight...

Happy Thursday,

I will be launching the new One Day Special and the latest release of Creative expressions Craft dies designed by Sue Wilson this evening at 8pm on Hochanda.  It would be great if you could tune in, remember if you can't get the channel on your TV you can watch in HD at

I really l,love the sentiment on this one which is on a set of stamps, designed by me, that I have on the show.

For today's sneak peak I have chosen what should be the first card I will demo tonight using the fabulous Pierced Squares and a couple of the matching finishing touches from the show.  I hope you agree that this is a very classic card with all the layers and the combination of the Cobalt and coconut white.  I have also mixed in a little colour cloud and some embossing to make this square pierced farm card.  This is definitely one for those of us not afraid of layers of foam tape lol.

Ive also made a different use of the pearl corners and the laurel leaves just to accent the design and the sentiment.

Don't forget the shows continue tomorrow at 9am, 12pm, 4pm and last chance at 7pm.

Until tonight...

Sneak Peak...

Happy Wednesday,

I know its early for a sneak peak however I thought I'd give you a taste of the samples and demo's I have readied for the Launch of the Dies by Sue Wilson One Day Special starting tomorrow night at 8pm on Hochanda.  I will be showing a selection of dies from the current release and hopefully some new ( and some basic) techniques.

This card is planned as a demo on Friday and I have to admit I love how the stamping and colouring have come out I think you get a real watercolour / porcelain look to this.

Julia Watts is keeping things warm on Hochanda with a stunning selection of Justrite Stamps at 11am, 2pm and 5pm today.  Julia tells me they are fantastic prices!

I will be demonstrating how I achieved this look, along with the remainder of the card over the course of Fridays shows ( 9am, 12pm, 4pm & last Chance at 7pm)

There will be another sneak peak and the winners of yesterdays card tomorrow!

Waste not...a giveaway

Happy Tuesday,

I promised a few weeks ago that I would make a card with all the waste piece form the card I made on Hochanda.  I noticed when cutting out the Portuguese border that the pieces left over had really nice patterns.  I thought that if I foam mounted different shades and pieces of the waste together it would make an interesting design well here it is finished.

The card was made form the scarp pieces from making this card shown below.

I simply cut the border strip from the Portuguese collection by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions  twice facing each other from Ginger card.  Next I cut 2 more from Milk card however I faced these the opposite way.  As you can see from the pictures this gives 2 different patterns in the centre,  I mounted these over each other and added a scarp of ginger card that I embossed ( again for the original card) with the eternity embossing folder from CE.

A couple of layers and finished.  I have added a few more pics of both cards as I am giving away both cards today!  If you want to win both of these then simply leave a comment on this post!

Flower tags...

Happy saturday,

As I mentioned yesterday Julia Watts and I are demoing at Samuel Taylors in Leeds today It would be great to see you!

I thought you might all like to see some of the tags I made during my flower making tutorial hour on Hochanda last Thursday.  As I said yesterday I had so much fun making these.  I was a little concerned that some of the colours didi not come across on the screen properly however these pictures should hopefully show the subtle shading I was going for!

Black and White...

Happy Friday,

I really hope you enjoyed the Flower Making masterclasses yesterday on Hochanda, I really did enjoy it especially the last hour where I got to present the demos on ,y own ( although I have to add that I missed the banter with Alex!)  I have to admit it is unusual to have someone talking in your ear as you speak but hopefully that wasn't noticeable!

I thought you might like to see a close up of the Black and white card I made on air with the stunning gloss card.  As I said on the show this was the first time I had worked with the Gloss Foundation card in black and I have to admit i loved it!

I simply used the Perfect peony dies designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions both the Open and complete petals.  The only addition to this my favourite Trailing Ivy.

The stamp is form my Daisy Chains clear stamp set for Creative Expressions and is one of my fave sentiments as it meets all sorts of occasions!

Julia Watts and I are demoing tomorrow in Leeds at Samuel Taylors so if you are around that area it would be great to see you.  Julia and I will be travelling up there today so it will be an evening of laughs with Julia for me!

Heather Hearts...

Happy Wednesday,

Im glad you all enjoyed the MDF shows yesterday with Lisa and I I really learnt some new techniques from her!  I thought you might like to see that Heart Wreath that I did as a sample to go with the stunning demo Lisa did with this MDF Heart.

I used the stunning Bird papers along with the matching florals form the set to cover the hearts.

I Covered the base of the wreath using the Cosmic Shimmer Crackle paint in Heather and covered the frames on the hearts in the same.  I then, once dry and cracked, rubbed vintage plum gilding wax all over the heart frames to bring out the cracks and make them shine.

I simply added all the hearts on the the wreath alternating with those with frames and those without.  To finish I added a bow and ribbon hanger and a tail at the end.

Day 2 more MDF...

Happy Tuesday,

I hope you all enjoyed the launch of the One Day Special last night I have to say I had a real laugh with Lisa and doesn't she have some fab techniques?

Don't forget the double trouble crafting continues today at 9am, 12pm, 4pm and finally the last chance at 7pm!

Today's project is this wonderful MDF box which gives so many opportunities to decorate either with the stunning new Craft Consortium papers or any of the paint techniques.

I stared by covering the base and lid using a selection of the Craft Consortium Decoupage papers form the Antique whites set,  I then added the white crackle paper to a sheet of coconut white foundation card and die cut the perfect peonies complete petals from this.  I cut 4 full flowers and made them up, one for the front and three for the lid.  Next I cut the Splendid swirls form Kraft card and used the foliage as a base.  I added the swirls so that they twirl out with the peonies on top.

I will be demoing this box and technique today in one of the shows so for more details you may need to tune in!

Happy Monday,

I hope you can join me and Lisa Horton for the launch of the One Day Special on Hochanda tonight at 8pm.  For those who may have missed Hochanda it is on Channel 39 on Freeview, 663 on Sky and online (in HD) at! Lisa and I will be introducing the Brand New range of papers from Craft Consortium as well as some Brand New MDF pieces from Creative Expressions.  I thought I would start the reveal with this fab Staionery set which comes flat packed for you to decorate.

This large piece is the first one I will be demoing on the launch show, so you will have to tune in to see how this is put together and covered! lol

This comes as part of a 2 piece set with a smaller holder that is perfect for your pens and pads etc as well as making a really useful remote control holder.  I believe that Lisa has decorated one of these as a remote holder, I'm hoping its in the right colours as I could do with one for my lounge!

I really hope you can Join me and lisa as she has some brilliant demo's planned!  I have added a few more pictures of both units in case you want some inspiration.

We will be on all day Tomorrow at 9am, 12pm, 4pm and 7pm !
