Funky Tree...

Happy Tuesday,

Todays card is another scene through a window style however it isn't of a real scene but the die of a funky tree!

I started by using the small star media plate stamped onto the triangle media plate to make the tree of stars.  Next I simply stamped the inked media plate star off to one side of the tree and stamped the sentiment in the centre.  I used the Izink dye based inks in Blackberry and ultramarine and added the small snowflake and star stamp to wrap around the tree adding more detail.

To make up the card I used the navy blue pigment ink on the snowflake circle embossing folder and letterpresses a piece of card with the centre die cut out.  I matted this onto a die cut silver mirror card pice and made up the  card as shown with a glitter card in white poinsettia and a messy bow of thin satin ribbon in matching colours.

Scene through a window...

Happy Monday,

Today's card is a prefect way to use your media plate and stamped images that don't come out the way you want!

Thats exactly what happened with this stamped image I didn't like the larger piece so I framed it with the embossing folder and added snow as a shaker card to clever the bits i didn't like!

I started by taking an image I weans pleased with and started the framing.  I cut the aperture in the centre of a piece of white card then embossed it with the Snowflake circle embossing folder.  I used gold Izink pigment ink pad and gently rubbed form the centre out over the embossed surface.  This gives the gold tinge on the snowflakes which fades to the edges.

Next I cut a smaller aperture in a piece of green then again in gold card adding a layer of acetate between the white and green.  I then added some snow and foam mounted this over the gold before adding the image.

I then simply matted and layers the card and added a bow and hat pin!

We three kings...

Happy Sunday,

Today I am back on the road again for the Ansty workshops in conjunction with Mrs Duck!  This is the last one of the year and they will return in Late January 2018!

Todays card is made using the wavy plaque and the festive silhouette clear stamp set.  If you ignore the backing card its really simple.

I inked the wavy plaque with blue green and honey coloured izink inks and simply brayered over the plate to soften and blend the inks.  I stamped this as it was with no additional shading or stamping to give the impressions of the dessert.

I then simply stamped the three kings ( or wise men however after living in spain I always think of 3 kings at christmas)  in black ink over this with the star they are following!

The reminder of the card is made using leftover dice cuts in scratch art sanded back and a series of frames all designed to make the simplicity of the image have the impact!

3D Bauble...

Happy Saturday,

Today I am back on the road at the Craft Locker in poole doing workshops with a mixture of my Products.  I also wanted to explain the idea of complex simplicity I said yesterday!  I meant that you can get a complexity of look with simple techniques making an easy to make project look complex( there clear as mud!)

I thought I would share another card made using the bauble media plate and this time the build a wreath clear stamp set.  Whilst this set is designed to make stamping wreathes easy ( and for any occasion not just Christmas) it also has lots of smaller elements that you can use for many other projects.

The bible is made simply by stamping three of the stamps in different colours onto the media plate before stamping this not card.  This technique allows you to go over the edges of the bauble and make it look more 3D with images running off the edge.

Once stamped I used the petal blenders to shade around the edges of the bauble to make the 3D element come to life.  Finally I inked the top of the bauble using black ink to finish the top.

I made up the reminder of the card using my star stream embossing folder with the stitch dot oval die cut in the centre.  I added a strip of pearls and a really simple bow so that bauble wasn't just floating.

Santa Bauble...

Happy Friday,

Today I am starting to share some of the samples I have made using my new range of masks, stamps and media plates and I just love the colour of this card and the complex simplicity of it.

I stared by making the bauble using the bauble media plate and the Festive Scene clear stamp set.  I inked the plate with 2 shades of izink Pigment in and using the snowflakes and sonata on sleigh I used the resist technique to remove the ink from the plate giving the white pattern shown.

I cut this out using the stitch dot circle dies form Press cut and matted the circle onto silver and deep blue using more circles.  I added a spray of christmas foliage around the top and finished with a silver edged ribbon bow ( the centre diamond pearl was made for me by my friend Wendy)

For the background I added the deep blue pigment ink to the flat side of my snowflake circle embossing folder and ran white card through my platinum to give this letterpressed panel.  This is such a great technique to get more from your embossing folders.

I layered this onto more white, silver and blue before adding to a large 8x8" card blank.

Sneak Peak Tree...

Happy Tuesday,

I really hope you can join me today at 8am or again at 12pm for the launch of my new Media Plates, Stamps and masks on Hochanda.  Today I am sharing the build a wreath set and the triangular media plate.

I used elements from the build a wreath set onto the media plate to make this focal element for a traditional card ( well you can't get more trad christmas than a bit of tartan can you?)

I used the border form another new set I am launching today for the surround on the card which gives you a large background from a small stamp.

Here is the media plate and the stamps used to bake the image.

I will be demonstrating how to make this effect on tomorrows shows it really is quick and easy and this whole stamped seven takes less than 5 minutes to make!

Here is the plate and the stamp set used for making this.

And here is the stamp set the Festive Scene set.  his has the hand drawn village in the centre but also more snowflakes along with santa and sleigh and loads of stamps that work perfectly with the media plates.

Join me tomorrow on here for another release or at 8am this morning on Hochanda freeview 85, Sky 663 or freest 815.

Simple Glitter...

Happy Sunday,

Another simple stamped card today using up scraps from Demoing!

I made the centre panel using the circular media plate and my Winter Trees clear stamp set ( New plates and stamps launch tomorrow!)

For the frame I used a scrap of card that I had stamped covered in glitter and cut the kiddmlke section out for another project.  This is a perfect example of looking at what is left behind as the frame is the waste piece and would be difficult to replicate!

I added layers of blue and silver glitter card finishing this small card ( only 51/2" x 51/2") with a matching silver bow and a random poinsettia cut in white glitter card i found in the scrap box!

Deja view...

Happy Saturday,

Today's card may look a little similar to Tuesdays card as this was made at the same demos last sunday.  However I wanted to show that you can make a far more simple card just with the stamping and dont have to add lots of layers and die cuts to make a pretty and effective card!

Go back to Tuesday post HERE to read the technique for making this card!

More Purple...

Happy Friday,

Another card made form a demo pice form last weekend today.  this time I have used the pieces to make a multilayered card that looks far more complex than it is!  Plus I thought it was time we had a revisit to my large bows lol

I made the oval stamped front using the oval media plate and my argyle duo mask.  I inked the plate and added the mask over the top and brayerd over this to transfer the pattern to the plate.  I stamped this then stamped the little bubbles form my clear stamp set in a darker blue around one edge of the plate so that when I stamped it it shaded the oval.

Next I stamped the flower silhouette stamp and the sentiment and finished with one of the leaves form my circle leaves set around the edge in the 2 ink colours used.

The background is made using the large media plate and my butterfly and dragonfly stamps using the resist technique ( there is a video on this on youtube and its described on this tuesdays post!)

I made up the card as shown with mats and layers and a large bow with roses in the centre.

You are Gold...

Happy Thursday,

A different card today with Gold on Gold on Gold but I have to admit i love the different shades of the gold card I have used including a little gilt metal.

The centre panel of this card is made with adding gold metal sheets to card then embossing the piece with my winter trees embossing folder.

I embossed a piece of old gold card using my confetti frame and I rubbed black ink over the surface to darken the colour and make the embossing show.

The next layer is gold mirror card embossed this time with my Star stream embossing folder.  I finished the card with layers of gold in the old gold, mirror card and a little vintage gold to add further light and shade.

The poinsettias are cut in Kraft card and I added gold pen around weach of the die cuts so that they match the gold on gold theme.  I added holly leaves in gold mirror card and an ombre ribbon from my stash.

Snowflake Stream...

Happy Wednesday,

Today's card is again made up with pieces I had left in my scrap box.  I always keep all the pieces I cut and make especially during demos its perfect when I want to play and challenge myself.

I found this background and the snowflake in my box obviously from other projects that hadn't worked or left from a demo.  the background is a piece of card I had stamped with the large media plate using the liquid pigment inks in blues and silver.  This gives an easy and more importantly mess free background that shines.  I embossed this with my star stream embossing folder then ran silver pigment ink pad over the top to bring out the embossed stars.

The snowflake was cut form more of the card and I added swirls and a smaller snowflake cut in the new Crafts Too Yale blue lustre print card.  I added a couple of pearls and a strip of a rafia ribbon in the same lighter blue.  The snowflake in the lustre print card was lightly sanded to age it and show a little white in the raised areas.

Finally layers of Cobalt, sh
silver shine and light blue make the finished card.
