Square Lantern Box ...

Im so sorry the video didn't work earlier in the week its here now!  Ive added this to the post but it will always be available on my You Tube channel.

I thought I should hare an alternate lantern today in this one I used just 4 panels which make a square lantern style box that looks like it is taller!  I love the way the lid works regardless of how many panels you use ( this will even work as a triangular box )














I made up the lantern to the stage before making up the sides and cut away 2 panels so that the box had only four sides.  I then used the Christmas Tree die included in the set and cut this from the front.  I added vellum behind this and coloured the image, form behind, using alcohol markers.

I alsi cut the stars die into the top flap at the front and again added velum ( so that a battery candle would show through.

Under the Sea with Foiling...

As promised its Go Press and Couture Creations day!  I think this makes a real change form all the christmas and allows me time to sort out what is happening with the Instructional video for the Large Lantern, sorry I will get it working!

I spritzed a piece of watercolour card with the Izink Spary inks in Ocean and emerald then embossed this with an embossing folder from my stash.  I then dry brushed gold lustre paint over the raised area to give a real random mixed media feel to the background.




















Next I foiled the seahorse hot foil stamp form Couture Creations singly Go Press and Foil onto Kraft card.  I added some gold paint arround the edge of the card and distressed the edges.  I added a die cut of the seashore fare with coloured vellum behind and other pieces cut from the same collection.


I added all the pieces as shown to make a real mixed pice with large mica flakes added for more texture and to give an underwater feel to the piece.

Autumnal Lantern & Video.

THankyou to everyone who tuned in over the last 2 days for my Hochanda shows.  There were so many emails in to the show Im sorry of yours didn't get read out but they are really important to me!

I thought I would share some inspiration today for the Large Lantern as well as the instruction video.

Ive had so many problems uploading the video so I hope it works, it does on my PC but that doesn't mean anything sometimes lol!

This sample is made using Kraft card which I had added a crackle finish to using chalk paint and crackle medium.

I then added leaves using my Gerbera Daisy leaves which have a lovely autumnal feel when curt from shaded Kraft card.  I added Izink dye based ink in tea, honey and walnut over the card randomly before cutting the leaves out.  Using a hot glue gun I added the leaves over a bow of burlap ribbon.

I then added acorns ( from a huge stash on Amazon) which I dry brushed with gold lustre paint.  I finally added some thread to give an ethereal feel to the lantern.

Snowflakes that glitter...

I hope everyone who managed to watch yesterdays shows enjoyed them as much as I did! They seemed to go in a whirlwind!  Today I am sharing another sample from ten new collection which I will be demoing through the day at 9am, 1pm and final call at 5pm ) stock depending)
















This card is  mix of the elegant snowflake collection. just simply cut in white and blue silver glitter card.

Hochanda Launch day ...

Well once again its launch day and tonight at 6pm on hochanda ( the Shows called Hullabaloo with Crafts Too for some reason lol)

Todays card uses a variety of dies from the Elegant Snowflake collection and bundle using the square background the snowflakes and the wreath set ( for the corners)

I will be demoing this card at some point so tune in at 6pm or 8pm today or throughout tomorrow at 9am, 1pm and 5pm.

Snowflakes 2...

Another card made with a new die launching on Monday evening at 6pm on hochanda.  This time its the turn of the snowflake wreath set which has a wreath, circle corners and the snowflake stags head die they are all shown on the card.

I have found this die set so useful and have used the elements together and speratley on loads of different projects so you will see more detail on this one over the next few weeks!

Sneak Peek Snowflakes...

A quick sneak peek today of the Elegant Snowflake collection launching on Monday evening on Hochanda at 6pm.

Todays card is made with the new Snowflake square from the new Elegant Snowflake collection.

I've used the Star Tags form the last collection and the new snowflakes die set which Ive used to make a snowflake flower ( you will see a lot of these popping up in the coming weeks as I love the way these stack together too  make the flower like embellishment)

The collection launches on Monday night at 6pm on Hochnada with shows through Tuesday at 9am, 1pm and final call at 5pm.

Sneek Peek Christmas 2...

I thought it was time I shared a peek of my new Christmas die release that launches on Hochanda Monday evening at 6pm.  This release has 2 main collections however as it is the 3rd Birthday of Hochanda there may be new things popping up at different hours!

The first new die I want to share is the large lantern die.  This is designed to create a full size (5" wide x 7" tall) Lantern with 2 sheets of A4 card and 2 passes through your die cutting machine.

Here are 2 examples cut in black with my poinsettias and scene dies inside and also in distressed Kraft card with an autumnal feel with the Gerbera Leaves and acorns.

There is also a mini version which makes a smaller lantern in the same style here i used it to make a string of Christmas lights.

Tune in tomorrow for another sneak peak of the elegant snowflake collection or tune in Monday evening at 6pm to see the whole collection.

Gliding the Shore...

Today I thought it was time too share something other than Christmas and I wanted to start a feature I have had planned for a while now and make thursday the Couture Creations and Go Press foil day on the blog.  This coincides with the launch of the Spellbinders version of the Go Press foil machine.  So they Hotfoil stamps should work in either machine!

For todays card all the items I've used are from the Couture Creations Seaside and Me collection.

I started by hot foiling the Swirling seas hot foil stamp onto oyster pearl card using the Go Press and foil machine.  I then cut this into a square, matted it onto distressed Kraft card and then blue card.  I repeated this to make 4 panels and foam mounted them over a pice of Kraft card I had crackle painted.

Next I cut a selection of dies from the range, again in Kraft card which I shaded with black ink and arranged around a strip of rope tied down the side.  I added a few starfish cut in black to add depth.

I stamped the sentiment and distressed the edges again shading in black ink and added this to the side of the main arrangement.

A different kind of card for me but I really loved making it, I know that the distressed look isn't everyones cup of tea but its fun to do something different and the Foiling really adds a touch of class to the finished card.

Something Softer...

I thought I should share something a little softer today after the glitter fest of the last couple f days! so how about a classic white on white within hint of grey?

I started by cutting my Holly and Ivy frame into a piece of white pearl card.  I then repeated this with a piece of grey card and shadowed this behind the white before adding a piece of acute behind.

I then added a panel embossed with the Crafts Too Snowdrops embossing folder behind this with foam tape and made up the reminder of the mats and layers to make the base card.

I stamped the sentiment and the snowflakes ( From the Crafts Too Festive sentiments clear stamp set) in smokey grey ink and icy this out and framed it with my Rectangle oval media plate die set.

I then stamped my poinsettia clear stamp in the smokey grey and cut them out with the matching die.  I made up the poinsettias and added crafts too clear chunky glitter over the edges using Craft Artist glue adding a pearl brad in the centre of each flower.




















I arranged these around the oval over messy bows of a sift white satin ribbon  May Arts from my stash)

Red Glitter...

Happy Monday,

Continuing the glitter feel today however theres nothing but glitter foam on today's offering so no mess at all!

I simply cut my Snowflake panel into a strip of black card down each size.  I placed the die back into the card further down to extend the design.  I then placed Crafts Too red glitter foam behind this and added a red diamond in the centre of each snowflake.

Next I cut the Swirl Ivy die in the green glitter foam and arranged this down the centre of the card.  I then cut the Poinsettia die in the red glitter foam making ups the flowers using a gold brad in the centre.

I arranged these down the centre of the card adding more of the foliage to add to the dimension.

A few layers of black and red make and frame the card.

Blue Poinsettias...

A real showcase of the izink Diamonds today this card was easy to make as I was able to use the same product for everything!

I stared buy spearing silver and blue Izink diamond Glitter paint through my snowflake mask onto ultramarine Crafts Too Linen card.  Although a paint it is the neck enough to spared through the stencil yet fine enough to show all of the detail in the stencil.

I then added my Snowflake panel die cut in white over a piece of card onto which I painted Silver Izink diamonds.    I added a mat and layer circle form my media plate die set and the sentiment cut in blue and shadowed in white.

Finally I made up three poinsettias and simply painted the petals with silver and blue glitter paint.

Simple easy quick drying and not shed perfect for christmas cards!

Red snow...

A scene card today made using the Snow scenes this time cut form snow( well Glitter Foam but it looks like a snow drift!)

I cut the snow scenes die from white Crafts Too Glitter Foam.  For the background I used my Falling snow A5 mask onto acetate and spread silver Izink Diamonds through this to give the falling silver snow.  I backed this with red Linen card adding the glitter foam die cut over the top.

I used my Media Plate rectangle die set to make a set of frames in white and silver to frame the piece with layers of red and white to make the finished card.

I added a messy bow of red striped ribbon at the bottom and placed a star tag over this with the Merry Christmas sentiment ( all come in the Star Tags dies set).
