Deers in the snow...

Happy Friday,

A simple sample today made with the scene card box adding a slightly larger frame to the front makes a really stand out creation.

For this version I made up the back of the box however I didn't add an aperture in the front and used that as the back.  I put a scene in the back which I made using white and sky blue pigment ink onto black card.

I added just one strip of the Deer scenes die set in white foam mounted inside and threw in a handful of shredded foil.

I made the frame using the Rectangular media plate frame and mounted this using the media plate die set which allowed me to mat the frame in silver and black.  I added acetate behind this and sealed the box to make the finished frame.

Ingredients:
JND Scene Card box die
JND Deer Scenes die
JND rectangular media plate
JND media Plate die set

Enjoy...

  1. Morning John, the dark background with the white stags and deer's really does create a beautiful effect, the shredded foil really gives a great effect of the snow etc. too. Yes I like it.

  4. A beautiful card, John. I actually made a few Christmas cards yesterday using recycled cards. Haven't started the 'proper' ones yet.

  7. Dear John

As I said to you at Doncaster - You are on fire! I was so inspired by your box tutorial yesterday I bought the box and deer set (Sunrise Crafts - the only ones who had any left!) I'll also be getting the townscape when it is back. Love 'em. I'm also thinking that my townscape stamp (the one I have your autograph on my personal 'tutorial' piece - which I look at every day) should be useful too. Thank you very much.

  14. Hi John. Such drama! Love it. I know black cards aren't to everyone's taste, but how else would you be able to create such atmosphere?

  15. I love the peaceful effect this card gives. Deer always seem to evoke peacefulness and these colors and dimension just feel like a wintry night in the woods.
    Have a wonderful weekend,
