Well the shows are finished and I would just like to say I loved doing them. I was nervous I think its because this was the first time I showed my designs! Thank you all so much for the wonderful reception, the emails, comments and support I received form you all. I'm glad you all liked the striplet dies, I had to leave something in reserve lol
Back to today and I thought it would be good to show the cards made by the ladies who attended my workshop in kettering on Thursday. I gave them all the option of making the same card however they had a choice of Mica colours to play with so everyones cards were different. The first card is the example I made that we were using as the basis for the card. I made mine using 2 colours of mica. The pack I made for the ladies contained all the card needed for this card cut to the correct sizes ready for die cutting and matting a layering however the colour choice was up to them.
here is what they came up with...
Above is the selection of all the cards made, as you can see these cover the whole spectrum of colours.
The next shots are close ups of the individiual cards as you can see they all used the elements in different ways. Brilliant aren't they?!?
The next workshop I am holding at cReative Expressions is on St Georges day the 23rd April. This will be a die cutting technique workshop where you can attend for either half or a full day! The full day will make 5 projects A kinetic Card, A kinetic or lidded box and tag, a notelette set and a classic card.
Pictures and detail will follow next week!

Happy Sunday I am having a day off relaxing!
Enjoy...

Hi John. Loved your shows yesterday and this is the first time I have seen heat embossing on acetate so thank you for a new technique I can try. Today's card is gorgeous, not just yours but all the ladies who made their own too. It is nice to see the same card in different colour combinations. Have a lovely lazy day today. x
ReplyDeleteMorning John, Knew you did not need luck yesterday, pure talent did it!
ReplyDeleteThe shows were great, you manage to pack so much into them, and thankfully the presenters allowed you to demo, not have to engage in a stupid conversation with them.
These cards are so good, really show how a change of colour can change the look of a card.
Relax today please
Cheers

Hi John
ReplyDeleteFantastic cards from the ladies.
Unfortunately I couldn't get my email to work yesterday - I wanted to congratulate you on your designs and couldn't resist getting the bundle with the daisy and dogwood, the ribbon and 2 sets of the drawing inks - they are amazing as the brush is so fine.
So sit back, pat yourself on the back and look forward to seeing you soon.
Oh what about zodiac signs for stamps?

Love your card and brill see your ladies interpretations and colour combos - I Sly+ the shows but missed the morning show (derrhh!!) and managed to 'tape' both your shows with Martyn - fab techniques and lovely to see the camaraderie between you both - and absolutely love all your stamps and how great that we can now stamp and cut out with the striplet!! brilliant xx GailT xx
ReplyDeleteThese cards are all lovely. The colours work brilliantly. The ladies should be really proud of their work.
ReplyDeleteGot to say yesterday's shows were fantastic and you looked like you were having a ball too. You were beaming in the second show. Unfortunately I missed the first one.
The stamps went down a treat. I loved the mica pad tip...
Thanks so some wonderful tips. I much prefer to watch a demo than read and follow instructions.. I take it in so much better.
Enjoy your day of peace
lots of love

Hi John
ReplyDeleteI'm late in this weekend, Congratulations on a successful release. I only caught a little of your show Saturday afternoon but it was clear alll was going well, which I'm so glad about. I shall be catching up on the show s in the next few days. I really enjoyed seeing your own designs this week and I'm sure once they are in all the independent shops that have ordered they will sell well. Onto the cards, lovely use of the dies and haven't your ladies done so well with the colours and embellishments. Together they all look like an expensive set you'd buy from somewhere more classy than the places I shop!
Hugs
