Happy Sunday,
I had a fab day yesterday ate Coleman Craft Warehouse in Rushden and am back next Sunday for a workshop there!
Back to today and another card mane with the Becca Feeken Swirl bliss die for Spellbinders. This time I have used the main half circle die for the front of the gate fold card.
I started by making 2 front panels with the semicircular flaps on each side. I the cut the die in white card and mounted this onto the 2 navy flaps.
I then added 2 panels down each side in the navy which i scored at 1/4" intervals down the front. I added 2 strips of pearl strips to add some interest to the front.
I cut a circle panel and added this to a strip of ribbon to make a tie for the front of the card which adds a decorative element as well as keeping the card closed.
A simple card but a great base for any occasion.
Enjoy...

ReplyDeleteGather you had long chat to Anne yesterday - but as I said, I had my granddaughter for day in Northampton which doesn't happen very often. I'm usually with them in London. We had a lovely time crafting in the morning at my craft club. A bit more stamping this morning before the family goes home.
Looking forward to your workshop.

Really enjoyed your demonstrations at Colemans, Rushden yesterday John, problem was I didn't need any new stamps and dies but couldn't resist after watching you! Many thanks for all your inspiration.

Gorgeous card John and one to use for lots of occasions. Thank you for sharing this with us. Glad you had a good day yesterday. Take carexx
ReplyDeleteWow this is very different - I had to study it for a minute or two to decide if I liked it or not. Yep I do, though I am not really sure about the ribbon on this one. (I know I said the other needed ribbon now I'm saying this one doesn't lol). I think I would have preferred if the ribbon was onto the card i.e under the half circle rather than over it. I do like the dies though and like the way there is a half circle which makes it ideal for this gatefold design, though think it would be ideal for many other styles too.

Awesome gatefold card design. The combination of the strong score lines and the delicate swirl of using Becca's die is a very nice design. I like it!
