Lilac Wedding...

Happy Thursday,

Julia Watts is continuing her One Day Special today with the wedding collection designed by Becca Feeken for Spellbinders so I thought I would show you another of the samples I made for her show.  for this card I mixed in the fabulous Classic Elegance paper pad designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions.

I stared by cutting the swirl strip panel three times down a piece of wisteria foundation card.  I backed this with coconut white card which I covered in double sided adhesive sheet and spread diamond sprinkles over the exposed adhesive.  This gives a gentle sparkling look thats just perfect for these soft colours.

Next I cut the swallowtail pennants using die 1 and die 3 for different pieces of the paper from the paper pack.  I then used die 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 together to sit 2 fames form wisteria card and placed these over the patterned shapes.  I used the waste for the centre of the smaller frame to make the sentiment stamping the many congratulations form my lily of the valley elements clear stamp set in watering can archival ink.

I foam mounted these to the middle left of the card adding the sentiment across the card.  I made a messy bow using seam binding and a lilac thin satin ribbon ( from my stash) finishing with an organza rose ( leftover form my mixed media show) however I placed the bow the opposite way round to normal so that it hangs as show and look more delicate.

I finished the card using cosmic Pearl PVA dimensional glue to create all the Pearlage on the card.

Julia's shows  are on today at 9am, 12pm, 4pm and last chance at 7pm.

Enjoy...

Day 6...

Happy Tuesday,

I'm starting to feel bad about these short posts I really hope you all don't think I'm just "phoning it in" lol

Today's card is hopefully giving you some sunny colours that will match the weather I hope you are all getting!  I have just checked and where I am on holiday the temperature is supposed to be over 45 degrees!

This is the last sample I made for Julia Watts and is again using the new collection form Couture Creations Whilst discussing Couture Creations I must say a quick Hi to Carol form Australia (which is where these dies come from) who should be home in Ox by now and brought me a beautiful paper based gift form there when she was over last month (I will be showing some creations with this later in the month)

Although it looks complex today's card is just a series of squares cut in the primrose card I had on my stamp shows in April and coconut white.  I let the die cuts do all the work on this one and just added some raw silk double sided satin ribbon around the back and a bow to balance (I know some will think this is a little large but it is a large 21 x 21 cm card!)

Enjoy...

Woven Purple?!?...

Happy Tuesday,

heres another card from the POD shows and I don't think this one even made it to your screens as it was on a shelf in the background of the set.

I know I have made a load of cards with the weaving dies but I just loved playing with them to see what different weaves I could come up with and what colours would work!  A dark shade for me however i really think it works somehow in this rich purple colour!

I started by making a hinged card using the outside die from the classic adorned rectangle die set from Sue Wilson.  I then used the deboss (you may have noticed last week that spell check wants to change deboss to debs!) and letterpresses the front of the card using seedless preserve distress ink which just frames the weaving beautifully (IMHO) lol

To make the centre panel I wove together the pieces from the striped weaving die set which I cut so that there are 2 strips together with an aperture in the centre.

The centrepiece is made form more of the lilac, Mauve and coconut white foundation card layered up after being cut with the outline dies form the Greek Island collection (the great thing about this collection as with all of them the outline dies match to give different layers.

Ingredients:
card Size A5
Creative Expressions Craft Dies by Sue Wilson
Classic Adorned Rectangle noble die
Striped weaving die
Greek Island collection
