Something different Saturday...

Happy Saturday,

I thought it was time I revisited the something different as I have been showing  slew of paper crafting projects recently so how about some MDF?

This is a really simple item to make honest its just 2 shades of the Cosmic Shimmer metallic gilding polish.

I stared by covering an MDF shaker heart form CE with Heather and powder blue gilding polish.  I then simply stamped my Christmas rose clear stamp set around the top using the powder blue polish.  Next I stamped one of the christmas rose sentiments in the centre of the heart.

For the 'frosting' i added cosmic shimmer dies clear glue all around the piece and added iced snow which, when dry, is clear so adds the frosted look where you can still see the colour and stamping.

For the roses I covered a sheet of foundation card half in heather polish and half in fern green.  I stamped the roses and cut them out with the matching dies.  I cut the free card using the foliage die in the christmas rose set, embossed them and added enchanted gold gilding polish over the top to make the embossing shine.

I added gold microbeads in the centres of the flowers and arranged it all along the bottom.

something different that would hopefully  are a really different christmas present, all I've got to do now is work out who this should go to!

Time for some sorting out?...

Happy Wednesday,

Firstly I am showing my card today for my last stint ( for this year and on a Wednesday) for the CE design team.  From Sunday I will be moving my DT inspiration day to Sunday so here is the last wednesday card!

Also I have shows On Hochanda Today and tomorrow!  I have only just realised, as typing this, that I did the first ever One Day Special on Hochanda earlier this year and today I will launch the last ODS of the year!  Tonight at 8pm I will be on Hochanda ( freeview 39 sky 673) with a range of products and ideas to get our craft caves all sorted for the new year.  I thought it would be a good idea to show some of the ideas I use to keep things ( to start each day at least) neat and tidy especially as I have heard quite  a lot of my blog family received new crafty stash for Christmas!

Firstly I have finally found a replacement for the die storage books that I developed with CE at the beginning of this year.  I have been asked so many times where I got my books from well the original books sold out so I have found a replacement which I will be demoing tonight and thought tomorrow.

There are lots of new ideas like this stamps and matching die storage as well as an idea for keeping your rubber amount stamps tidy was well as the fabulous stamps to die for by Sue Wilson.

There are loads of ideas through tomorrow at 9am, 12pm, 4pm and last chance at 7pm where I will get to wish everyone a Happy New Year live which Is a real pleasure for me!

Hopefully some of you will be able to tune in, it would be great if you could email in at Studio@hochanda.com.

Day 2 more MDF...

Happy Tuesday,

I hope you all enjoyed the launch of the One Day Special last night I have to say I had a real laugh with Lisa and doesn't she have some fab techniques?

Don't forget the double trouble crafting continues today at 9am, 12pm, 4pm and finally the last chance at 7pm!

Today's project is this wonderful MDF box which gives so many opportunities to decorate either with the stunning new Craft Consortium papers or any of the paint techniques.

I stared by covering the base and lid using a selection of the Craft Consortium Decoupage papers form the Antique whites set,  I then added the white crackle paper to a sheet of coconut white foundation card and die cut the perfect peonies complete petals from this.  I cut 4 full flowers and made them up, one for the front and three for the lid.  Next I cut the Splendid swirls form Kraft card and used the foliage as a base.  I added the swirls so that they twirl out with the peonies on top.

I will be demoing this box and technique today in one of the shows so for more details you may need to tune in!

Stationery...

Happy Monday,

I hope you can join me and Lisa Horton for the launch of the One Day Special on Hochanda tonight at 8pm.  For those who may have missed Hochanda it is on Channel 39 on Freeview, 663 on Sky and online (in HD) at www.hochanda.com! Lisa and I will be introducing the Brand New range of papers from Craft Consortium as well as some Brand New MDF pieces from Creative Expressions.  I thought I would start the reveal with this fab Staionery set which comes flat packed for you to decorate.

This large piece is the first one I will be demoing on the launch show, so you will have to tune in to see how this is put together and covered! lol

This comes as part of a 2 piece set with a smaller holder that is perfect for your pens and pads etc as well as making a really useful remote control holder.  I believe that Lisa has decorated one of these as a remote holder, I'm hoping its in the right colours as I could do with one for my lounge!

I really hope you can Join me and lisa as she has some brilliant demo's planned!  I have added a few more pictures of both units in case you want some inspiration.

We will be on all day Tomorrow at 9am, 12pm, 4pm and 7pm !

Decoupage MDF Pics...

Happy Saturday,

Today I am at Strikes Wilmslow garden centre, pop down if you are in the area!

I thought I would share some of the samples I made for yesterdays One Day Special on Hochanda using the decoupage papers and the beautiful MDF.

This is the sample of the Nativity scene that I had, it takes a while to make so I wasn't able to demo this whole piece on air however I hope you liked the quick demo and explanation I did in the simpler colours.  I personally like the one I demoed with the simpler Graphite and gold gilding wax.  I did think however you might like to see the close ups of the different pieces in the set.  I coloured these using the Christmas Mica Watercolour palette.

I really hope you enjoyed the shows and the demos / samples I will give awaken of the demo pieces from the shows On Tomorrow post!

Enjoy...

Sneak Peak...

Happy Tuesday,

As I have shows on Create and Craft tomorrow I thought I would give you a sneak peak of some of the samples I have made for the show.  This is a decoupage show featuring the Craft Consortium pares, MDF storage units, some stunning MDF frames that are brand new as well as a couple of my stamp sets that are prefect for stamping on the papers and the units making them truly individual.  I have, as usual, made far too many samples but I love playing with these papers and find so many different ways to use them!

IN the top 2 I have used a couple of new papers from Craft consortium to cover a big boy unit (as named by Martyn) in postcards and a ribbon units in the matching chevrons design.

The ribbon unit featured here is simply painted using mat chalk paint as well as the brand new matching crackle paint.  I have then stamps on this using some of the elements from the Fen frames and sentiments clear stamp set form Creative expressions.  These small flowers have a solid centre stamp as well as a detailed outline making colouring and stamping so easy.  I added a few of the ferns as well then distressed the unit by adding pewter gilding wax.  I hope you agree but to me this has a really nice soft feel to it.
Finally there is this MDF ornate from which I have made look like an old gilt mirror frame.  To see how tune in as this will be a demo tomorrow!

The shows are on tomorrow at 10am and 2pm so tune in or record if it takes your fancy!

Feeling Green?...

Happy Sunday,

Here's the full collection of the Storage Items I'm demonstrating today at Create and Craft at lunchtime!  The show is a 2 hour toolshed it would be great if you could tune in!

The range contains 5 items and I have decorated a full set in this simple great palette using Chalk Paints, stamping and gilding wax.

here is the ribbon stand and the Distress Ink stand.  I covered over the MDF with a base coat of White Gesso then added different shades of green using the dry brushing technique.  I then stamped over the units using the Natures Botanical umount stamp set.

On this large storage unit I again base coated it and dry brushed chalk pants form the green set.  I then used the Leaves mask from That Special touch and coloured over it using the darkest green in the set I have put together.  The below picture shows the colours I have used.

Yesterdays Demo Day in High Legh garden centre was So much fun!  Thank you to all the ladies who attended especially those who ended up staying all day!!  I am doing another Demo day next Saturday in the Houghton Hall Garden centre in Carlisle, so if you are in the area pop in by the emails I received the ladies who attended yesterday seemed to enjoy themselves and hopefully picked up a few tips (I know I did!)
