Bring on the Pearl...

Happy Wednesday,

Well what more can I say this is not bring on the pearls, there would be no point as I use them on virtually everything, but bring on the pearl..  What I am referring to is the beautiful Pearlised card I used to make this card.  I went crafty shopping (and to possibly arrange a class and demo) at Mrs Ducks local craft shop I saw this gorgeous pearlised card that they were selling in handy bundles of 5 sheets for a pound. Of course I bought a few packs and colours however it being me the first choice was the chocolate brown and beige.

This is the first card I have made with the cardstock and so I thought I should share it!

I started by cutting the largest die from Spellbindesrs Mystical Embrace in the chocolate card and mounted this, with foam tape of course, with cream then another layer of the brown.  Next I added a strip of a matching Grosgrain ribbon from my stash before layering alternate die cuts from spellbinders Elegant Ovals set in alternate colours.

The final layer was stamped with an old sentiment stamp and eat embossed using CE Gold detail embossing powder. I added a bow and a few of Wendy's hat pins (click the item in the ingredients list to see where to purchase these lovely hand made pins.

The card didn't look finished however so I grabbed my new Die Du Jour the Sue Wilson Delicate Daisies die set and cut a few of the edge daisies using the scraps of cream.  I finished the centres of these and the edges of the large die cut using ranger perfect Pearls in gold.

I really feel that the addition of the finishing touches makes this card.

Ingredients:
Spellbinders Mystical Embrace die
Spellbinders Elegant Ovals Die
Sue Wilson Delicate Daisies Die
Cream & Brown Pearlised Card
Ranger Perfect Pearls in Gold
Wendy's Hit Pins

Gilded Gate My Style...

Happy Monday,

A mix of dies and styles today, Sue Wilson and Spellbinders which seem to go together in my mind.  Today's card is made using the Sue Wilson Spanish Background (I LOVE her background dies they are just so versatile)  and Spellbinders Gilded Gate die.

The Sue Wilson is cut and inked through the die and then I cut out the centre section and mounted it onto Bronze Glitter card, also with an aperture.

I cut two of the gilded gate die in cream and stuck them together across the middle before mounting these, bowed out, across the aperture.

In added a strip of cream sheer ribbon and a bow to highlight the cut edge.  Finally I added the sentiment onto a strip of acetate attached with some of Wendy's beautiful hatpins.

Enjoy...

Last Sue for a while!

Happy Wednesday,

Today's offering is the last, for a while anyway, of my Sue Wilson Californian background die.  I wanted to try Sue's fire and ice technique and this is the result...

I just love the rusted gate look of the background especially with the contrast of the silver glitter.

For those of you who are not aware of this technique it is a little time consuming but fun.  I stared by adding a double sided adhesive sheet to a piece of cardstock .  Next I ran this sheet, with the top cover for the adhesive in place, through the big shot pro with a light touch so that an impression is cut into the card however only the cover sheet for the adhesive is actually cut.  I then carefully removed the sheet on the main party and gilded the card using autumn leaves gilding flakes.

The next step, after burnishing the gilding, was to remove the cover sheet from each of the smaller parts.  Then I simply added silver glitter which only stuck to the final parts i had uncovered.

As you can see form above the technique can create some beautiful results.  I framed the finished result with Kraft and glitter card and added a simple strip of ribbon.  The final piece was a bow (of course) and a die cut tag with used the scrap adhesive sheet which I glided.  A few of Wendy's beautiful hat pins for balance , I always seem to find a pin to match in her collection, and its done.

Enjoy...
