Under the Sea with Foiling...

Happy Thursday,

As promised its Go Press and Couture Creations day!  I think this makes a real change form all the christmas and allows me time to sort out what is happening with the Instructional video for the Large Lantern, sorry I will get it working!

I spritzed a piece of watercolour card with the Izink Spary inks in Ocean and emerald then embossed this with an embossing folder from my stash.  I then dry brushed gold lustre paint over the raised area to give a real random mixed media feel to the background.

Next I foiled the seahorse hot foil stamp form Couture Creations singly Go Press and Foil onto Kraft card.  I added some gold paint arround the edge of the card and distressed the edges.  I added a die cut of the seashore fare with coloured vellum behind and other pieces cut from the same collection.

I added all the pieces as shown to make a real mixed pice with large mica flakes added for more texture and to give an underwater feel to the piece.

Enjoy...

Gliding the Shore...

Happy Thursday,

Today I thought it was time too share something other than Christmas and I wanted to start a feature I have had planned for a while now and make thursday the Couture Creations and Go Press foil day on the blog.  This coincides with the launch of the Spellbinders version of the Go Press foil machine.  So they Hotfoil stamps should work in either machine!

For todays card all the items I've used are from the Couture Creations Seaside and Me collection.

I started by hot foiling the Swirling seas hot foil stamp onto oyster pearl card using the Go Press and foil machine.  I then cut this into a square, matted it onto distressed Kraft card and then blue card.  I repeated this to make 4 panels and foam mounted them over a pice of Kraft card I had crackle painted.

Next I cut a selection of dies from the range, again in Kraft card which I shaded with black ink and arranged around a strip of rope tied down the side.  I added a few starfish cut in black to add depth.

I stamped the sentiment and distressed the edges again shading in black ink and added this to the side of the main arrangement.

A different kind of card for me but I really loved making it, I know that the distressed look isn't everyones cup of tea but its fun to do something different and the Foiling really adds a touch of class to the finished card.

Ingredients:
Couture Creations
Swirling Seas hot foil stamp
Seahorse and Starfish Die set
Seashells edger

More Foil...

Happy Tuesday,

I had a fab day yesterday taring techniques in the Izink range as well as learning some great new ideas from the other fab demonstrators at the event!  I thought I would share another card made mixing Izink and GoPress hot foiling machine!

I made a background using the izink pigment dropper inks in Topaz, silver and amethyst onto acetate.  I then dried this with my heat gun to make sure it was totally dry.  I then added this to the GoPress with silver foil and a couple of hot foil stamps from Couture Creations.

Ive found that on these dark atmospheric background the foliage really shines where as standard stamping just disappears  It also gives a professional finish.

I cut the dragonfly detail dies in white and again, as like yesterdays card, added coloured acetate solid dragonflies over the top.

A frame of mirror card cut with the Press Cut stitch dot rectangle dies with a thin layer of black to finish.

Mixing it up...

Happy Monday,

Today I am helping;ping at a workshop for retailers for the Go Press foiling machine and the fantastic Izink range so I thought i would share this card that I recently workshopped at Mountain Ash crafts as it combines the two!

I used a combination of my acetate technique using the Izink pigment dropper inks and the foiling machine.  II used my gerbera lattice die to foil the heat resident acetate that I had coloured.

I used one of the Couture Creations hot foil stamps to foil the sentiment onto the coloured acetate cutting it out with my With Love tag die set.

I added a couple of layers of frames and, of course, some of the dragonflies cut in silver mirror card topped with the coloured acetate!

Foil Tuesday...

Happy Tuesday,

I hope everyone enjoyed yesterdays shows as much as I did It was great to be able to just play with some of my favourite products and share ideas and things I love.  The next show will be the launch of my first full die collection more details next week and maybe a few sneak peaks!

Today I am sharing a card i made using the PCD01 die from yesterdays shows and a piece I made using my GoPress hot foiling machine.  I used the stunning Rose Hot Foil stamp designed by Anna Griffin ( Im always in awe of her flower designs) and folded this onto black card with a silver shimmer foil.  I cut this out using the Press Cut Notched Rectangles dies and added s strip of ribbon around the bottom, I really felt that the image was strong enough not to need any embellishment.

Finally I added to a card made with the Stepper card die from Press Cut cutting the additional panels dies out from craft card which works so well with the strong black of the card base.  A simple take made using the notched rectangles and finished.

Foiled and Flowered...

Happy Monday,

Today I have shows on Hochanda today at 10am, 3pm and 7pm with a wonderful mix of Press Cut Dies, some of my dies ( the new mini starflowers and the return of the starflowers themselves) and izink inks etc.  Today I thought I would share 2 cards I made for the shows using a mix of products form them as well as a sneaky bit of foiling as I really am loving playing with my GoPress hot foiling machine!

I decided to focus on the pink version and will detail the blue card later ion the week if I have space!

The main feature of this card that I love is the trellis and small flowers at the back.  I cut the panel die form my sandwich Box die set twice into a piece of rosa lustre card.  I then cut the new Mini Starflower die twice which gave me 12 of the little flowers which I have to admit I love.  I simply added these instead of my usual pearls at the junction of the filigree adding a stick on crystal in the centre.

I framed the background using the Press Cut notched rectangles using them to make a multilayer frames with Rosa and Ice Silver lustre card.

I added the large bow and the tag which I hot foiled the sentiment on!

Waste Foil...

Happy Wednesday,
I thought I would share this card today based on yesterdays.  As Im sure al my blog family know well by now I hate waste and tray to use it every chance I get. Well todays card is made with the waste pieces from yesterdays!

I I foiled the hot foil stamp using the pale blue foil onto white.  I cut this out by hand for the main piece.  For the background I added the waste foil form the front panel to a piece of card and foiled it using the go press and a few card shims ( to raise the hight to the level needed)  I ran this through my Platinum to seal the piece.

For the sentiment I used the waste piece form yesterdays card and repeated the process foiling this onto plain card.  I cut this with the stitch Dot Ovals from Press cut and made up the card as shown.

Foil Tuesday...

Happy Tuesday,

I spent yesterday Helping out sending orders out for the last shows on Hochanda it was so much fun! so If you received your order today or tomorrow and its wrong its all my fault!!

Back to today and I thought I would continue with the samples made using my new GoPress foiling machine I simply love playing with this ( i will be doing my first demo day with this equipment on Saturday at Crafty Corner in South Shields Pop along and take a look between 10am and 4pm)

I know when people mention Foiling to me I always think of gold silver etc however I revised a pack of foil in my machine box in beautiful Pearl colours so of course the first I used was the soft blue.

I simply foiled the large design and the sentiment and made up the card arround this using my usual set of layers, embossing and ribbon!

The thing I really love about how the GoPress works is that not only does it fold the image it embossing this in giving a real quality feel!

More Gold...

Happy Wednesday,

Another card made using the Go Press filing machine today I wanted to share another technique today using your existing dies to fold with I have to say I was really happy with the results.

I used the same die as yesterday the panel die from the sandwich box however this time I didn't cut it I gilded it.  To do this all you need to die is add the die facing up onto the heat plate of the GoPress Then add the foliage, card, a shim and close the lid.  Simply run the whole plate through your die cutting machine ( i used my platinum as you need a large aperture machine)  This transfers the fold only to the cut lines on the die and slightly embosses the card.

I repeated this three times and cut the panels out before mounting with gold mirror card .

I wrapped a piece of cream ribbon arround the three panels adding a hot foiled sentiment cut with an oval die with a mat of gold mirror card.

I love that fact that the GoPress gives me a whole new technique to do with my existing, and ever growing, collection of dies.
