A host of Butterflies...

Happy Thursday,

A simple to make but complex looking card for today which involves just cutting one die four times to make all the main elements!

I stared by cutting the inner die from the Sue Wilson cascading butterflies die into a piece of deep cocoa foundation card.  I then backed this with a pice embossed with the braided vines A4 embossing folder with the pattern highlighted using copper gilding polish.

I framed the background with a set made form the Noble double pierced squares set A and B and mounted it onto a few layers of the tan, papyrus and deep cocoa foundation card to make this 8x8"

Next I cut the cascading butterflies twice from a piece of tan card to give me the tan butterflies .  I then simply arranged the butterflies in a cascade across the front by sticking them only in the centres and folded out the wings.

Finally I added bronze 3D pearl accents from cosmic shimmer in the centres of the butterflies.

Glittered Daisies...

Happy Wednesday,

The One Day Special continues on Hochanda today at 9am, 12pm, 4pm & Final Call at 7pm with the fabulous Glitter Kiss from Cosmic Shimmer.  Today's card again shows some of the techniques that can be achieved with the product.

I stared by adding the glitter kiss in Ice Blue to the daisy mask, I then added silver chrome glitter kiss so that the colours mixed.  Next I stamped over the top using Sahara gold and my horticultural script stamps over the top.  That's one of the wonderful things about Glitter kiss unlike other glitter mediums it is not raised at all meaning you can stamp directly over it and mix colours without having them contaminate.

I cut the piece out using the noble double pierced circles cutting the top of the flower to poke over the circle and matted it on a silver circle.  I then added a background embossed with the Rambling rose 8x8" embossing folder with the raised are coated in the Ice Blue glitter kiss ( I never thought it would be possible to glitter just an raised surface!)

I added a spray of cape daisies which are perfect with the glitter kiss and added the leaves all coloured with the product.  Finally I added a layer of black with the edge just kissed with the glitter!

Tune in today to see exactly why I think this product is so special and see lots of ways to use it!

Glitter Kiss Show Launch...

Happy Bank Holiday Monday,

I'm back on Hochanda tomorrow night at 8pm with the launch of the Glitter Kiss One Day Special from Cosmic Shimmer.  I love this product not just because it was my idea but because, as usual, of what you can do with it!  You can literally kiss any project with Glitter that doesn't shed or need glue to stick it and leaves no mess, what's not to love?

I thought I would share this project today to whet your appetites! everything on this card is made with glitter kiss even the stamping!

The amazing thing is that although the background looks raised its totally flat.  I used the Lavender Kiss and Silver Chrome kiss through the Leafy mask onto white foundation card.  I then added the circle sentiment from my Clear stamp set in sea green glitter kiss.  I cut this out with the noble double pierced circles dies using the B set to make the mat for this.

I added the flower from the centre of the sentiment over a messy bow of organza ribbon from my stash wit the lace edged leaves gently kissed with the lavender glitter kiss.

There are so many techniques you can make with this product join me tomorrow ( Tuesday) or through Wednesday to see what can be done!

Don't forget Sue Wilson is on Hochanda this afternoon at 3pm with the amazing Nautical range of dies!

Vintage Floral Circles...

Happy Tuesday,

Ready for tomorrows launch of my stamp range on Hochanda I thought I would share this card that I made to showcase the new Vintage Floral Circle background stamp.  This stamp was delayed from the original launch and only reached me last week!

I stared by stamping the circle onto a piece of vintage gold foundation card using perfect medium in random pattern as shown.  I then added snow-cap brilliant sparkle embossing powder and heat set this which makes the design show in white with a sparkle which is better seen in real life!

Next I repeated this process onto a piece of velum and backed this with a circle of vintage gold, both cut with the Sue Wilson noble double pierced circles dies which fit the stamp perfectly!  Next I cut a series of the stitched flag dies in the papers form the new Kraft and Gold 6x6" paper stack from DCWV.

I made up the card as shown with a layer of the ribbed white foundation card ( available on the show with Kraft card and the return of the gloss black reversible card ( early waring on this as It sold out so quickly last time)  I finished with a chrysanthemum cut in velum with a small gold dazzler as the centre and foliage of the Olive Branch die, all by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions.

I will be demoing a version of this card on one of my shows on Thursday at either 9am, 12pm, 4pm or during Final Call at 7pm so tune in to see how this was made!

Iris Butterflies...

Happy Tuesday,

A different shaker card today made using the Heart Treat cups and the Fluttering Heart die designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions.

I started by cutting the inner die from the Fluttering Heart die into a piece of Iris foundation card randomly over the piece.  I then added a sheet of bright white foundation card behind this using spray adhesive.  I then framed this with a frame made with the noble double pierced background rectangles die with a couple of layers of iris and white for goo measure!

Next I cut the outer inner and detail die form the fluttering heart in bright white and backed this with Iris cut with just the 2 heart dies in the set.  I then added this over a heart treat cup ( made to fir the die exactly) and filed it with the Crystal Hexagons from the new Cosmic Shimmer glitter jewels collection.  I added the backer die cut in iris over white to the back after adding a heart cut in acetate to seal the shaker heart.

To finish I added the shaker element as shown at the bottom centre and used the amazing wispy fronds cut in iris and the flowers cut from the spring foliage in white with cobalt 3D pearl accents in the centre.

Vintage Drama...

Happy Friday,

AS I am back on Hochanda today at 9am, 12pm, 4pm and final call at 7pm then I am stretching the vintage Friday idea in that I am using a vintage embossing folder on today's sample from the shows!  Full Vintage Friday next week promise ( I know I said that last week but I get confused lol)

I stared by embossing a piece of black foundation card with the honeycomb haven A4 embossing folder I then 'grouted' this using Sue Wilson's paper grouting technique using Berry Red sparkle texture paste from Cosmic shimmer ( I will be demoing this at some point today for anyone who has missed it in the past)

Next I cut the jewelled heart die from black foundation card and gently smoothed over silver metallic gilding Polish to highlight the beautiful detail on this die.  I added this to a grouted panel made using the 8x8 love hearts embossing folder.  I cut this panel into 2 and left a gap in the rich red background piece.

Next I made up a spray of the Chrysanthemum flowers and added silver and gold metallic gilding polish to the petals.  I cut scrap grouted paper with the centre die in the flowers set and shaping these added them into the centre off the flowers along with the matching leaves.

The treat cut I added sliver chocolate wedding sweets and the new iced flake glitter jewels ( don't worry about getting the sweets out they aren't that nice!)

Stained Glass...

Happy Thursday,

Don't forget to join me over the next 4 days if you are near Glasgow or Fife for my first ever Scottish demo days!

Again another relatively simple card that I am hoping to demo on Hochanda this month.

I cut the Olivia die in bright white foundation card then cut the detail into another piece before adding CE Heat resistant Acetate behind this.

Next I careful painted Cosmic Shimmer Flake and Glitter glue using the Highlighter behind the die cut.  I brushed the glue onto selected sections in the same way as I would if colouring alternating sections.  I then added Sea Green Polished Silk Glitter.  I then added a layer of the glue to other sections and added Ice Blue Polished Silk Glitter.  Finally I painted the glue on the remaining sections and added turquoise Glitter to this.

I mounted this over a piece of double sided adhesive sheet and added Icicle Sparkle glitter jewels to offset the glitter and make this simple card more luxurious!

In the pink...

Happy Wednesday,

well after all the lovely comments on yesterdays post and card I really am feeling in the Pink so why not share a Pink card.

This is another sample from Sunday and Mondays shows this time highlighting one of my favourite innovations from Sue Wilson the striplet collection.  My blog family, especially Mrs Duck, will know my weakness for a striplet this one is the brand new timeless die used here to create this bright background.

I started by cutting the insert panel form the striplet into an piece of bright white foundation card three times to for a square.  Next I used the centre strip ands the outline that matches it and cut this in white and backed it with pink foam mounting these in the centres of the background.  I mounted the whole piece onto more of the Sherbet point card ( I'm not a pink person but this shade of Sherbet really shouts to me!

I then cut the Molly frame and take dies in sherbet twice, backed each one with white and cut one in half to give a shadow frame effect at the back.  I stamped the sentiment, in watering can archival of course) onto a scrap of white and cut it with the centre oval form the molly set, mounting it in the centre.

Next I cut a series of the new Starflower die set in the pink and white, mounted the same size together offset and added pastel pink PVA in the centre ( there is a set of 4 pastel colours of the PVA dimensional on this weeks shows)

I finished the piece with vanilla PVA pearls this collection has so many places to put pearls its amazing.

This card will be a demo on Mondays shows so tune in to see how it was made.

Christmas in Blue...

Happy Friday,

Its back to normal with a Christmas Friday I really must get a start on my mums card! lol

Ive chose one of my favourite stamps from my Christmas range the leaping reindeer created in a different way!

I stared by stamping the reindeer in perfect medium onto heat emboss able acetate.  I added detail silver shine cosmic shimmer embossing powder and get set this.  I then added cobalt PVA dimensional glue into the space left by the embossing.

Once dry (leave this overnight to get a proper dry finish) I turned the piece over so that the blue shows through neatly.  I then added frosted sky PVA at random intervals on the front as snow along with some smaller dots of the cobalt PVA.

I framed the piece using a frame made with the noble double pierced dies set A and B in bright white and cobalt foundation card.  I added the whole piece to a background embossed with the twinkle star A4 embossing folder along with some layers of cobalt and white.

I made up a bow of silver white and blue and added a pearl heart in the centre.  The sentiment, from the same set, is stamped in silver on a silver pierced tag backed with a cobalt tag.

A different colour Christmas card but its my favourite so why not!!

Christmas Saturday extra...

Happy Saturday,

Join me today at Samuel tailors in Leeds if you around why not pop in and say hi!

I thought I would go for a Christmas weekend theme as I seem to have made so many Cards for the festive season this year!

This is an simple card that could be altered for any season.

I stared by adding silver moon sparkle texture paste through the snowflake mask onto gloss black foundation card.  Next I removed the mask and sprinkled midnight blue and aqua lagoon pixie powders over the top.  Once dry, which takes about an hour, I gently dusted off the excess powder using a soft brush.  The powder only sticks where the texture paste is and because Sparkle Texture paste by Cosmic Shimmer is water based the pixie powders spread through the paste showing all the different colours.

Next I cut the layers in the snowflake filigree frame die form more black gloss card and backed wit with card I had coloured using the same pixie powders.  I added a strip of seam bonding and bow made with white seam ending coloured again with the pixie powder ( I do
like things to match)

I finished with a pearl embellishment form the Craft Consortium always and forever range over the silver 4mm metallic linx pulled out to add some more sparkle  A few layers of cobalt and aqua and finished.

A technique you could use through any mask to change the colour and texture of you Sparkle Texture pastes for any season or occasion!

Traditional twist christmas...

Happy Friday...

Wow what a  few days I can honestly say Ive been racing this week but its a gentler day for me today promise.

I thought i would share a christmas card form my shows earlier in the week that uses traditional chitsmas colours but with a modern twist.

I stared by using silver moon sparkle texture paste through the that special touch holly background mask and left it to dry.

Next I cut the triple merry christmas perspectives die in white pearl card and took the merry christmas strips out.  I added these to a piece of card which I had cut with stripes of rich red and brunswick green foundation card ( 1cm strips)

I simply matted and layers this overt the masked background ( one dry about 1 hour)and added a spray of striped ribbon from my stash and one of the pine cone em,belishments.

In the Blue...

Happy Monday,

An Autumnal card today but not in the usual colours, I thought theres no reason why I couldn't use the Autumns child sentiment on a frosty blue pixie powder card!

I stared by spraying water onto watercolour card then I added midnight blue and white pearl pixie powders to the piece.  Next I sprayed water until the card was soaked which gives this frosty water like look to the card rather than the exploding colours usually with Pixie Powders.  once dry I cut the piece using the outline die from one of the mini Striplet dies by Sue Wilson and matted these with silver and cobalt.

I stamped the sentiment , from my birthday seasons clear stamp set, onto acetate with perfect medium.  Next I heat embossed this with true white detail embossing powder from Cosmic Shimmer.  I added farm made with the double pierced circles set B in bright white foundation card.  I angered this to the acetate and cut around this.

I used a piece of background card that I had made using the same colours and the kitchen roll technique.  while adhering the kitchen roll with the glossy glue, seal and glaze I added some silver gilding flakes into the mix.  I then  stamped my christmas rose clear stamps ( from the Christmas Rose elements clear stamp set) in black archival ink and cut them out with the matching die.  I shaped the roses using my ball toll and added white opaque microbeads in the centres of these before arranging them around the circle.  I added some of the rose leaves, from the same die set, which I covered in diamond snow glitter jewels.

I made the card up as shown which has a simple look but to me with the pixie powders really shines!
