Colouring Saturday...

Happy Saturday,

I thought I should share a card made with the new Stamps to Die for to match the new Die release from Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions.  I started with the Sunflower trail designed to match the shapes within the Indonesian collection.

I stamped the image twice in moment black in and coloured all of one image.  I added the sentiment to the second image, cut out the oval central die from the Sumatra die and coloured just those flowers showing in the die cut.  I then foam mounted the central oval over the fully coloured image ( all coloured using the Graphmaster alcohol pens.

To make up the card I cut the outline die in the Indonesian background and add the largest die in the Sumatra die to this.  I then cut the centre out using the next die in the Sumatra set.  I placed the die cut and stamped image, with mounting cushion, in the centre.

I made up the card as shown adding n embossed panel using the dahlia garden 8x8" embossing folder on a piece of DCWV core card.

Silver Moon Atlantic...

Happy Wednesday,

How about a little gilding flake stamping for todays card.  I stared by cutting the infinity striplet into a piece of iris foundation card three times to make a square background.  I backed this with cobalt foundation card  and added layers of silver, iris and cobalt to make the main card.

For the main element I stamped the strawberry flower stamp to die for in Cosmic Shimmer flake and glitter glue then added silver moon gilding flakes and removed the excess using a piece of rubit scrubit.  I repeated this to make 2 stamped images and cut the flowers out from one image to decoupage on this first one.

I cut out the stamped image using the matching die from the Azores die Atlantic collection.  I added this over a couple of strips of silver ribbon and added a messy bow, metallic linx and stick pins to finish.

Saturday Colouring Get Well Marie...

Happy Saturday,

Today I will be doing a special Demo day at Grafton Crafts in Huntingdon, contact the shop or pop in to see what is so 'Special' about this demo!

Back to Today and I nearly forgot Saturday Colouring and so at the last minute I remembered this die cut stamp to die for that I demoed on Hochanda earlier this week.  I coloured it on air to show the techniques so if you want to see how this was achieve, using the amazing Watercolour Pencils, then watch on rewind for Wednesday show at 12pm at www.hochanda.com.

I decided to make this into a Get well or Feel better card for a Friend on Mine Marie who has spent the last couple of days in hospital and has not had a good time with her health generally.  I wondered what I could do and I thought, as I am seeing her hopefully later in April, I could make a card for her featuring this.

I made the card up as shown using the Infinity striplet cut in white and backed with primrose foundation card.  I added the panel on the front, matted on 2 die cuts in pastel green and threaded with white crinkle silk ribbon.  I then added a bow of the silk ribbon with the hand cut tags stamped with the sentiment from my nasturtium elements clear stamp set in watering can archival ink.

I added this with some thin satin ribbon and matted again in pastel green coming form the large bow with a paper rose ( I didn't have time to make one sorry) and finished.

It just remains to wish you Brighter days Marie, and to all my blog family as well.

Colouring Saturday...

Happy Saturday,

Another Stamp to die for coloured with the amazing Graphmaster alcohol pens this time its the Chrysanthemum Bouquet stamp and the matching Bermuda die however I decided just to use part of the design.

I stamped the image using memento black ink ( as I was colouring with Alcohol) and coloured the image as shown using yellows and warm greys.  Next I cut out the inner section of the image and the overlapping flowers.  I added this too a die cut in primrose foundation card with the outer and detail die from the Bermuda set from the new Sue Wilson collection for Creative Expressions.

I made up the card using the corner die form the Atlantic ocean collection cut into papyrus foundation card to make the pattern as shown.  Next I added a strip of matching yellow organza ribbon and a trail of the foliage from the Chrysathemum die set in pale grey.

A few layers of papyrus, primrose and soft grey and finished.

Tomorrow my Vintage card form Friday and news about my new Releases that will be revealed at the trade show tomorrow.

Ingredients:
Dies - SW Bermuda, Chrysathemum, Atlantic collection corner, border and tag
Card: papyrus, Primrose and slate grey
Stamp: Chrysathemum Bouquet

A room with a view...

Happy Sunday,

I'm sharing a card today that I made last night I made this especially for Janet from JGD Crafts as she messaged me asking how the window box die from Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions worked.  As I was making uno the window box I thought it would be nice to make this up into a quick card and post for everyone today.  Whilst it looks complex this is a simple card and is quick to make.

I stared by cutting the window die in gloss white card cutting a separate frame form the same card and mounting it above to give the impressions of a window and frame.  I then added acetate behind this, to give the impression of glass which doesn't come over on the picture.

I cut a further outline of the window in a piece of tan card and using the Creative Expressions brickwork mini mask I shaded this piece of card lightly with Frosted Mink colour cloud blending ink.  This gives the light impression of brickwork which fades up the page.

Next I cut the window box die and the 2 flower inserts in bright white foundation card.  I also cut the 2 opposing foliage dies in the set and shaded all these using the other colours in the frosted range of colour clouds by Phill Martin.  I made up the window box by folding the edges and sliding the 2 flower sections into the slots in the edges of the box ( this is a simple process but is hard to describe I will be demoing this and the way that this box folds flat for posting, on Hochanda in a few weeks.

I stamped a piece of bright white with the stamp to die for that matches called home comforts, shaded this with more colour cloud to give a faded appearance, and added the frame and window box over the top.

I made up the card as shown using the get well sentiment form Spellbinders that I have on Hochanda on Wednesday.

The colours are brighter and not as grey looking in real life!

Saturday Colouring...

Happy Saturday,

I feel like I have overdosed everyone on colouring this week however I do want to try to stick to the days I have promised so its a Saturday Colouring and today I have chosen the clever through the window stamp to die for that matches the window die form Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions.  I started by colouring the stamped image using a selection of my Graphmaster alcohol pens.

I then cut the window into a pice of coconut white fouantion card then embossed this aperture using the bramble rose 8x8" embossing folder ( new from Creative Expressions)  I then used Baked Peach colour cloud blending ink to shed the pattern and, hopefully, make it look like wallpaper.

Next I cut 2 of the window dies and sandwiched them with acetate before cutting them open and placing them back in the frame to create the opening window as shows.

I will demo this technique on Hochanda in March when I will hopefully give you lots of ideas how to use the fab new range from Creative Expressions.

Red Red Roses...

Happy Thursday,

Another stamp to die for today and more of the red colouring I was taught by Lisa Horton which I love!

I stamped the image using black ink and coloured the roses using Red 10, 15 and orange 22 to make the red shine.  I also used a warm grey to add more shading which I also used on the trellis too, hopefully, give it a 3D look!

The rest of the card is relatively simple.  I cut the centre die form the matching Bermuda die form the centre of a piece of ruby foundation card.  I then cut this with rippled striplet and cut the whole piece out with one of the Noble double pierced background rectangles.

I offset the striplet with the addition of a piece of baby pink behind it and used this and black to mat and layers the card.  The embossed layer is embossed using the braided vines embossing folders with pearl ouster gilding polish over to make the design shine.

Pink Magnolia...

Happy Wednesday,

How about some almost correct colour flowers today and the Sweet Magnolia stamp to die for from Creative expressions?  Thank you so m,much for being understanding yesterday with Blue Tulips and I hope I'm right today and that you do get Pink Magnolias, whilst I love drawing flowers I'm not good at knowing the colours!

I simply stamped the sweet magnolias stamp to fie for in black ink and coloured its gain with my Graphmaster markets.  Again I failed to write down the colours but I promise I will try harder!  Once coloured I cut it with the matching Cape Verde die this time cutting the outline and the centre.  I cut another version of the die in emerald foundation card but used the centre die panel in the centre to give the looped centre.

I cut into the backing square of bright white using just the detail die from the Cape Verde set twice lopped together so that the filigree section just pops to of each side.

I foam mounted this over a piece of the emerald and used sherbet and emerald foundation card to take a set of frames before adding this to a small 6 x 6" card blank.

I stamped the sentiment and cut t with the pierced tags and added this to the centre using some thin satin ribbon from my stash and a couple of faux quilled flowers I had from another project.

Another stamp to die for tomorrow,

Blue Tulips...

Happy Tuesday,

I know its perhaps not usual to have tulips in blues however I just loved the colours against the white background for todays card.

I stared by stamping the Wild Tulips stamp to die for in black ink onto bright white foundation card.  I then coloured it using a selection of Graphmaster alcohol pens ( sorry I lost the note with the colours on)  I then coloured the background using Blue Grey 1 and 3 which gives the shaded light area behind the flowers.

I cut out the outline and the centre off the image using the dies in the Azores die form the Atlantic ocean collection by Sue Wilson.  I then stamped the sentiment form my Lily of the Valley elements stamp set and cut it with the stitched flags and added a larger flag cut in iris before pacing it coming from the centre of the image.

I cut the dies in the Azores set in sky blue and backed them with bright white.  I cut the centre dies in Iris, backed in white and from mounted this over the blue layers.  Next I cut this shape into half and placed it across an embossed layer which I shaded with Clear Day colour cloud blending ink.

I made up the card as shown with a few mats and layers.

Stamp Colouring new...

Happy Monday,

Well what a busy few days it was on the blog don't forget to check the list below to see if you were a winner!  Back to today and as promised a few of the Stamps to Die for that match the stunning new die collection form Sue Wilson for Creative  Expressions.  I decided to start with a reminder of summer as it seems so grey at the moment!

I stamped the strawberry patch stamp to die for in black moment ink onto bright white foundation card.  I then coloured it with Graphmaster pens in Reds 10, 11, 15 and orange 22.

I cut the stamped image out using the matching Cape Verde die set and shadowed a die cut in red at the top and bottom by cutting it in half.

To make up the card I cut the detail die from the Cape Verde die set into a piece of bright white twice overlapping them slightly.  I cut a final version in the centre so that it overlaps the other two.  This is not that visible in the card however bit creates a really nice frame on either side of the stamped image. I cut the next die in the set along with the deal die in white twice and added these, flat mounted, in the centre of the filigree sections .

Next I added this to a piece of ruby foundation card and matted on black ( to balance the stamping in black) and a larger frame of white, red and black.  To finish I surrounded opposing corners of the card with cosmic pearl 3D Pearl Accents from cosmic shimmer and added smaller dots on the appropriate places on the die cuts finally adding a heart charm and a messy bow of red and off-white.

Back tomorrow with another stamped and coloured image!

Saturday Colouring...

Happy Saturday,

The show starts properly today over in Frankfurt so hopefully I might get a look around If I see anything exciting I will share it on Instagram and hopefully Facebook.

Its Saturday which means another go at colouring and todays card is another stamp to die for as I have had so much fun colouring these in and the fact the die cuts them out really appeals to me!

I chose the matching stamp to the Bora Bora die for today and a stamp to die for called the Spring Flower Wreath ( perfect name really lol)  I coloured it with my Graphmaster alcohol pens using the following colours...
Yellows - 32, 45 & 49
Pinks - 26, 28 & 29
Blue / Purple - 77 & 84

I used warm grey to highlight the flowers and four the background in WG1 and WG3

Once coloured I cut the image using the matching die and stamped the sentiment in the centre in black.

I made the backing by cutting the centre panel from the Butterfly background die four times in white card.  I backed these in primrose foundations card and foam mounted them as shown to make this square of squares background.

I added a few stick on pearls ( white 5mm) and a messy bow of lemon and purple.

Enjoy...

Saturday Colouring...

Happy Saturday,

I love the stamps to die for that match the dies and yet I haven't coloured them much.  Now I have learnt some techniques from Lisa Horton ( and when stuck I text her for colour choices!) I feel like I can give colouring them a go!

For today's colouring Saturday I chose the  Cherry Blossom Branches stamps which matches the Tahiti die perfectly.

I stamped the image in black then coloured it in using the following Graphmaster colours
Flowers - 77, 84 & Blue Grey 3 Leaves - 46, 47 & 48

I used the Blue Grey ( This is a fab range of colours as the grey has a blue tone to it making it match perfectly) to run around the inside and outside borders.

I wanted a simple card to set off the stamped image which I had cut out using the matching die.  I cut the squares section from the Lotus striplet for times into a piece of bright white foundation card and from mounted this over a piece of blue dusk matted with iris.

I cut the lotus striplet separately in white and backed this with the iris and placed it, as shown, across the pattern and added the Tahiti stamped image in the centre.

For the focal element I didn't want to take away form the flowers so i simply added 2 pearl swirls to a Craft Consortium heart charm and added this in the centre.

Enjoy...

Colouring Saturday...

Happy Saturday,

As Lisa Horton mentioned on her recent Graphmaster show on Hochanda I attended a workshop with her at CE Towers and ended up buying the whole set of pens as I loved them so much.  This has meant that I have been trying more colouring and thought I would share a coloured image or card every Saturday.

I stared with the garden song stamp to die for that matches the Bora Bora die.  I stamped the image using
black ink and coloured it using the following Graphmaster pens
Flowers yellow 45 & 47 and warm grey 4.  leaves green 48 & 59.  Outline Warm Grey 4 cream 36 & yellow ochre 101.

I used the warm grey for the centre with a little of the cream 36 around the edges .

I made up the card as shown using panels of Kraft card embossed and set with black and white mats and layers.

A simple image to start as there isn't a great deal of space for shading but Im pleased with this as a first attempt!

More colouring next week,

Enjoy...

Royal Purple...

Happy Saturday,

I'm sure as the last shopping day for Christmas most people will be out shopping today as its any first stray off for quite a while I can promise I won't be braving the crowds toady!

I thought I would share a royal purple card today ( I believe Purple was considered royal as the die was the most expensive and so was reverted for royalty?!?)

This  card also makes use of the purple violet pixie powders I coated a piece of watercolour rad with pixie powder and then spritzed it with water before adding another piece of card to take a print and to smooth out the colour.

I cut the Tahiti die in the amethyst card and cut the successive layers in still pearl and the pixie powdered paper.  I layers these to with double layers of foam tape to show the definition.  The final layer is cut using the noble double pierced square dies.

On the pixie powdered paper I stamped the matching shaded nasturtiums in perfect medium and heat set them using silver shine detail embossing powder.  I cut these with the matching die, shaped them and added them onto a spray of olive branch die cut in steel.

A few layers ( as always with me) of the amethyst and steel and finished.

Enjoy...

Stamped Nasturtiums...

Happy Monday,

A little busy card for today but I really do like the effect even if it is a bit bust with flowers!  I wanted to post this card as I had so many requests yesterday at Phil Martins shop to see how this was made I thought you would call like to see it!

I started by cutting the tacit done into a piece of coconut white foundation card then used the other dies in the set into periwinkle and wisteria adding a final layer of the white.

I matted and layered the centrepiece onto cobalt, white and periwinkle adding a layer embossed with the tartan trellis embossing folder.

I cut the foliage form the star flower die in wisteria, coconut white and cobalt.  next I stamped the shaded nasturtium stamps to die for in perfect medium on pixie powdered paper and heat set this with detail white embossing powder.
I cut these out with the matching die in the striped nasturtium die set.  I arranged these around the Tahiti die cut adding the swirls from the starflower cut as mentioned.  I added pearls in the centres of the flowers and around the die cuts.

as said busy but its really effective in my opinion.

Enjoy...
