Striped Poinsettia...

Happy Saturday,

Today I am running Workshops at JGD Crafts in Sutton in Ashfield, I'm really looking forward to seeing the ladies and Janet again!

Today's card was made from me experimenting with waste form the fabulous Izink texture pastes.  After making a pink zebra canvas using my large Zebra mask, I was left with a spatula full of pinky texture paste.  As the paste is suitable for card as well as fabric wood etc as it is flexible;e i wondered if it would spread onto card and then, once dry, be able to be die cut.  Thats exactly what I did and I found that once dry I had a flexible and pearlised piece of paper which also die cut, bonus!  I then used the piece to cut all the poinsettias on this card.

The great thing about these is that the texture paste is fully flexible meaning I was able to shape the flowers without them cracking, it helped me to understand why these work so well on fabric!

I embossed a piece of the Christmas red lustre print card from Crafts Too and sanded the raised are back to show the white core of the card.  I love this about the lustre print ( I have some fab new packs coming in November) as it can be used in so many different ways.

I added a stamped sentiment and a few layers to finish the card.  This one is great for posting as the flowers pop back even if squashed!

Something New...

Happy Sunday,

Well today's post will show something new today which is also a sneak peak for the Hochanda shows today as I will be premiering this at 8am this morning!

All the samples shown here are made with my Brand New extra large stencils which were specially designed for the new Aladine ( the Izink Range) of texture pastes.  These pastes are in fabulous colours and the best thing is they are designed to work on Fabric, Glass, Wood, Card, in fact anything you can think of.

The brilliant thing about these pastes is that they are fully machine washable and don't need any form of heat setting!  That's the reason Ive made so many cushions.  Above you can see some cushion I made ( yes I even got my sewing machine out) using the large Stag mask ( not chosen because it matches any Living room honest!)

Opposite is the large Zebra which is perfect for hot modern colours as above art for a rainbow of colours as below!

There is also a Christmas set which has 5 masks within the set all included in one packet perfect for your Christmas cards as well as for Christmas bedding and table settings.

I hope you can tune in at 8am this morning to see the range or pop in at 12pm for the launch of my first range of Embossing folders ( with some new hints tips and products to go with them!)

Hochanda is available on freeview channel 85, Sky 663, Freesat 817 or online at www.hochanda.com.

STOP PRESS...STOP PRESS...STOP PRESS...STOP PRESS.

Also brilliant news today Mrs Duck has opened her web shop yesterday just click HERE to see all the goodies she is stocking!

The countdown is over!...

Happy Saturday,

I really hope you have all enjoyed the countdown and all the rumours I have to say I have!  The day is here so it's time to share my new Direction.  As of Today I am launching my own brand and ranges under the title of John Next Door!  The range is in collaboration with Crafts Too which is a fantastic Family Owned Craft brand and Distributor.  Their range covers all areas of the Craft world from Dies and stamps to Tools paper and everything any crafter ( like me) would drool over.

The Brand - The John Next Door brand is designed by me and will encompass all areas of the crafting world in fact the tag line is For The Makers.  I know that a lot of my Blog Family, like me, move between crafts and love trying something new.  This moves us from being paper crafters to more of makers with fabric, home decor baking and all aspects of the hand made world being things we love and do.  Therefore the brand will have new ranges every month based on existing and new areas of Craft.

There is no schedule of new stamps every month or set ranges I have taken a far more eclectic look at the range and it will change based on techniques and projects I am loving!  The First release is below with the launch of the New Media Plates, stamps and stencils / masks.  We have been working very hard to create a new system that is easy to use with new techniques that is easy ( just my cup of tea!)

The first range will launch on Hochanda TV on Tuesday 18th July ( next Tuesday) at 10am with a further show at 2pm I do hope you can tune in to see the launch and hopefully learn some new ideas and techniques designed to take our skill levels somewhere new!

Some of the range will be available on the Art of Craft stand today and tomorrow at Crafting Live in Doncaster so those going will be able to see the range in use first.  failing that the Full range will launch on Tuesday on Hochanda!

Over the next few months I have Embossing folders, fabric crafts with Stencils, Dies, stamps and so much more ready to go!  We have also been working with a company in France to deliver a fantastic range of Inks, paints, pastes and other products which have amazing attributes and are fantastic value ( always important to me)

I hope you will all enjoy this new direction for my Crafting Journey and love the John Next Door brand as much as I do!  To get you stared here is the first New youtube video featuring how to use the Media Plates that everyone has been asking about!

Over the next few days I will post sample pictures ( and there are youtube videos showing the techniques) However there are a few above and Mrs Duck has been playing with the stamps and is showing some ion her Blog click HERE to see what she has come up with!

Enjoy...
