Daisy Dreams in Blue...

Happy Monday,

I hope you can tune in to Hochanda tonight at 8pm for the launch of my One Day Special launch of my new Spring themed stamps and paper pack.  I have been busy beavering away for the last few weeks prepping lots of demos ( far more than I should need) as well as samples.  I have also been introducing myself to the joys of colouring as some of the stamps just begged to be coloured.  I will post a hand coloured card tomorrow in case you don't catch one of the samples tonight!  The shows continue tomorrow all day at 9am, 12pm, 4pm and last chance at 7pm.

Today's card is the first demo I have planned and how could I not use my paper Pad as a main ingredient in the first demo especially as I have c  I used a variety of the papers in the chambray pattern including the daisy dreams page which forms the main background for this card.  The backgrounds of all the papers have been colour clouded by me which is the base i used for all of the paper.  I chose my favourite blue the Chambray form the pack to demo the card in.

If you want details on how this card was made then you may have to tune in I'm afraid.  Everything I have used is available on the show hopefully!

there are a few new techniques which I am hoping to share especially the border on this card and the feathered daisies which adorn the bottom.

It would be great if you get chance to tune in or email a comment or question to the show at Studio@hochanda.com

Something different Saturday...

Happy Saturday,

Don't forget I will be at Grafton Crafts in Bicton today from 10am till 4pm demoing my new ranges as well as Dies by Sue Wilson and lots of cosmic shimmer products.  I will be also demoing a brand new product that isn't even released yet but will be available for pre order so if you want a first look its worth popping in!

Back to today and how could I create my own paper pack and not try all the different options therefore for today I have gone different and out of my usual confront zone and does some distressed work!  Please let me know whet you think as this is one of the planned demos for Hochanda next week.

I stared by stamping the daisy daisy background text ( which for those with a sharp eye is the traditional song daisy Daisy in french, however I didn't just translate this to french a friend managed to get me the correct French version.  I stamped this in perfect medium onto coconut white card stock and heat embossed it with Cosmic Shimmer true detail white embossing powder.  I then ripped the edges , scrunched it up and covered it in frosted mink colour cloud blending ink.  Next I stamped the spring flower bouquet form the Spring words stamp set, again i white, onto a piece of the warm linen spring trail backing paper and coloured over this the same.by
Next I stamped the sentiment and the flower word Dream in the same manner and treated this to the distressing.  The words in the Spring words set have hand drawn flowers making up the individual letters and can be decorated in so many different ways even individually coloured.  I made up some daisies using the Cornflower dies ( tune in to the shows rot see how this is done) and added frosted mink PVA to the centres.

Using one of the 2 border strip stamps from the daisy Trail clear stamp set I stamped the cotton ribbon with potting soil archival ink to make a matching ribbon and added a tie of this across the top and a knot below the flowers.

For the back of the card I used a variety of torn pages from the paper pack which I distressed with the colour cloud and layers to look as if there is a lot a depth to the card however it is completely flat!

To see how this card was made simply tune in on Monday or Tuesday next week as I will be doing a step by step.  I hope you have enjoyed this trip into darker and distressed places let me know!

Aprils Child in Buttermilk...

Happy Friday,

I know its really not a usual colour for me but when I first designed my paper pack I was determined that I couldn't call a paper Pack Spring Selection without a soft spring like yellow and this is the colour / shade I came up with.  I have to admit that yellow is not my colour but for some reason this shade really sings to me!

This is one of a series of cards I have made, all with the same dies and embellishments but in each of the 6 spring shades, that hopefully highlight the paper pad.  I will be demonstrating this card in other colours at Grafton Crafts tomorrow in Bicton click HERE for details of the showroom.  This will be my first live demo of my new ranges and I have to admit I am little nervous of how they will go down!

This set of cards will also feature on my Hochanda shows starting at 8pm Monday night so you will get a chance to see them in more detail then.
I used a selection of dies form the new range form Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions and a range of the buttermilk papers form my paper pack.

I stamped the sentiment form the Springs Child stamp set which continues the idea of a poem, handwritten by me, for each month detailing the positive attributes of people born that month.  This set covers March, April and may.

I also used the Dotty Daisy A4 embossing folder for the background as the pattern matches so well and this will feature on the shows on Monday and Tuesday.  I shaded this with lemon meringue colour cloud blending ink and matted it with primrose foundation card.  Next I added  layer of the paper, the Australian collection background and a piece of the spring trail paper in buttermilk.

The flowers are made with the daisy dots paper in the sweetheart flower dies with the outlines, in bright white, over the top.  I then added the beaded swirl flourish behind and used Phill Martin's Graceful mustard PVA dimensional glue as the centres as again the colours tie in perfectly!

I hope you can tune in next week to see all the products in the first half of the release demonstrated.

A quick note the bright white card I have been using is a relatively new colour of foundation card and is different from the coconut white I always use.

Stamped in blue (again)...

Happy Thursday,

An almost fully stamped card today with just a couple of die cuts!  I thought you might like to see some of the flourishes from the Daisy Everyday Sentiment set.  Also the versatility of the Daisy square background.

I stared by stamping the daisy square background in cobalt archival ink onto bright white foundation card.  I cut this out using one of the Double pierced square dies from set A.  I matted this with a thin layer of cobalt foundation card.

Next I cut 2 of the frames and tags die dainty oval frame one in cobalt and one in bright white amen matted these together to make a shadow.

I stamped the Thank Ou from the daisy trail elements set in the centre of the oval and added two of the solid daisies, from the everyday sentiments set, on each side.  I finished the daisies with cosmic pearl PVA dimensional glue.

I added a bow made of seam binding in cobalt over the stamped square and added the dainty frames over this.

For the background I cut a larger square of bright white card and stamped 4 of the flourishes, again from the everyday sentiment set, coming from each corner and matted this piece with more of the cobalt.  A few layers of white and cobalt and finished a card that could be easily scaled down for smaller cards.

I will be demoing a similar card to this on Hochanda on Monday or Tuesday next week with my One Day Special.

Keeping it simple...

Happy Wednesday,

I wanted to show today that I can make small simple cards!  I know that the fashion over the pond and in Europe is for smaller possible cards as opposed to some of the large flights of fantasy that I usually go into so I wanted to show that not only can a small card be effective it can still have dimension without layers and layers of foam tape!  This card, again that like yesterdays could be made in any colour, would be perfect for batch card making especially for selling at craft fairs of for charity.

I thought today that it would be fun to show this card made in 2 colour ways.  I have made this in the 6 main colours of my new collection but to see all 6 you will need to tune into my stamp and paper pad launch on Hochanda at 8pm next Monday to see how this set was done.

Its quite a simple are with the background stamped in jet black archival ink then shaded with matching colour cloud blending ink.

For the main element I stamped the Daisy Heart twice in black coloured the flowers form one image and shaded the other with the colour cloud.  I then cut out the coloured flowers and decoupaged them on top adding stick on pearls for the centres.

I added a strip of ribbon and matching bow in the same colour and stamped on the sentiments.

Another peak tomorrow of the show samples and demos.

Time for Beige...

Happy Tuesday,

Well as usual with me there is always time for beige! and so I included this warm linen colour in my paper pack and used it for today's sneak of the launch on Hochanda next Monday night at 8pm!  Today's card  uses not only the paper pack but also one of the Brand New embossing folders, designed by Sue Wilson, that will feature on the show.

For this card I used a few of the different papers in the Warm Linen colourway from my paper pack using a combination of the pierced flags die s and hand cut flags that are a little larger.

I stared by embossing apiece of bright White foundations card with the new Daisy Dots embossing folder and the shading it with Frosted Mink colour cloud blending ink ( the colour iOS form the Phill Martin collection) I layered this onto a piece of papyrus foundation card and added a thick frame of bright white and papyrus card.  Next I hand cut a piece of the spring trail paper in warm linen into a flag and matted this onto more of the base card.  I cut the centre Thank You die from Sue Wilson's new perspectives dies twice, once in white and once in papyrus and glued these together to create a shadow effect.  I then cut the smallest and medium flags from the pierced flags set in matching papers form the paper pack and added thin borders of the papyrus.

I made up the card as shown threading the flags through the thank you circle and adding a messy bow of London Tan seam binding to one side.  Finally I made up some of the new sweetheart flowers by cutting base of the daisy dots paper and adding the open petal die cut ( these all come together in the same set) over the top.  I cut into the centre of each flower around the edges of the petals and shaped the flowers adding a stick on pearl in the centre arranging these in size order up the front of the card.

Depending on the recipient this could be easily made for lots of different people using any of the 6 tonal shades in my new paper pack.

The paper pack and my new release of stamps started hitting the shops yesterday I can't believe how exciting it is to see you own designs available for sale!

Enjoy...
