Happy Friday,
I wanted to share this card today which I feel mixes the luxury of Gold Leaf with the whimsy of fake snow in this shaker card.
I started this card by coating a piece of crd with the Crafts Too double sided adhesive sheets. Because of the grid lines on the reverse of the adhesive sheet I could cut just the amount needed for the card which was 5 3/4' X 5 3/4". I then added a sheet of gold leaf using a further sheet to ensure all areas were covered.
Next I embossed this card however I used the folder in reverse to give me a debossed look, this works perfectly with the gold leaf leaving the surface with the smooth true gold look.
Next I cut the centre form the card using the stitch dot circle dies form Press Cut. I then added a piece of acetate behind this before adding some of the funky trees ( cut form scrap pieces of the gold and copper leaf card) to a pice of star stream embossed card and fake snow. I enclosed this with foam tape ensuring that the snow was behind and in front of the trees.
To finish I added a further tree on the front and used a piece of soft gold card embossed with the Merry Christmas section of the Tree of Hearts embossing folder ( also from my new range)

Red Trees...
Happy Thursday,
Today's card is made using the Confetti frame, a folder that can work all year but does work for christmas it's all about what you put in the centre!
For the col, ouyrful outside I added Fired Brick distress ink to the deboss side of the embossing folder using a brayer. I then embossed the card which transferred the colour to all the plate areas. This is one of my favourite techniques with embossing folders its makes them even more versatile.
To make the card Christmassy ( is that a word?) I added glue around the edges of the frame section with clear glitter added over the top. For the centre panel I added dots of glue and again added the clear glitter to add shine but not detract from the colour of the card!
The trees come form the Funky Trees set from Crafts Too here i just cut three of them and simple sanded back the card so that the texture from the die is visible.
A couple of layers of red and white and finished!

Gold Snowflakes...
Happy Wednesday,
Today's card is another sample using g one of my new embossing folders this time the snowflake frame. I love the way the centre is left blank so you can put whatever you want in there!
I lined up the folder with a piece of white card and a simple circle die. I then taped the die down and removing the folder cut the circle in the centre. Once done I embossed the piece again lining the aperture in the centre.
For the faded gold look I simply used the new Izink Gold pigment ink pad and gently stroked over the raised area. As you can hopefully see i stroked the pad form the centre out so the colour fades towards the edge.
For the centre of the card I added an aperture in white and then in gold cut with the stitch dort circle dies. I then mounted this over a piece of embossed and sanded card embossed with the winter trees embossing folder.
I then simply added the 2 find it media deer dies, cut in white gloss card, on the bottom of the card against the trees at the back.
I added stick on pearls in the centre of some of the snowflakes to highlight the details. A few mats and layers of the white, gold and black and the card its finished

Snowy Trees...
Happy Tuesday,
I thought I would share this card today that uses just the winter trees embossing folder you could easily miss off the mats and layers to make a quicker card.
Scroll down to the bottom for the details of my latest workshop

I started by simply embossing the winter tress embossing folder in Black Gloss card The great thing about the folder is that despite the detail it doesn't crack the card which can be an issue when using high gloss card.
Next I simply added white pearl gilding polish over the image, this highlighted all the embossed parts in white giving a real snowy look (hopefully!)

I then added a simple strip of organza ribbon with a die cut oval ( made using the fabulous Stitch Dot ovals from Press cut) over a stamped sentiment from my winter trees clear stamp set. A few mats and layers and finished!
NEWS
Mrs Duck and I will be running another workshop in Coventry in October. This will be an ALL DAY workshop as this concentrates on Embossing folder and die cutting techniques. You will make at least 4 finished cards learning lots of different techniques of using my new range of folders along with a great selection of dies all ready for Christmas!
all the details are ion the poster just contact Mrs Duck for spaces!

A Little fire...
Happy Monday,
Firstly I would like to thank everyone who tuned in to my shows on Hochanda yesterday it was very busy and I tried to throw in as many techniques as I could! I will be sharing more of the samples from the shows over the next week or so using my new embossing folders.
Back to today and this is one of my favourite cards using the Gold Leaf and the snowflake frame.
I did show the technique for this card on the 12pm show which you can watch on catch up HERE.
the basic are that I used the double sided adhesive sheets to add the sheets of gold leaf to the card then embossed this with the snowflake frame 6x6 embossing folder. I then ran over the top of the embossed area using a black ink pad. This really needs leaving to dry for a few minutes for the ink to properly adhere to the metal.
For this original I cut the centre form the embossed piece and mounted this onto a larger circle cut in black using the Stitch dot circle dies from Press cut.
I then cut the beautiful bauble stage form Find It Media in the black and twice (to add depth) and mounted this on the centre of the card.
Next I cue the poinsettia die form the waste piece of gilded card and shaped these adding black beads in the centre. I arranged these around the circle to add a highlight to the front.
Finally my usual set of mats and layers in gold and copper to bring out the shades in the gilding sheets and finished.

Something New...
Well today's post will show something new today which is also a sneak peak for the Hochanda shows today as I will be premiering this at 8am this morning!
All the samples shown here are made with my Brand New extra large stencils which were specially designed for the new Aladine ( the Izink Range) of texture pastes. These pastes are in fabulous colours and the best thing is they are designed to work on Fabric, Glass, Wood, Card, in fact anything you can think of.
The brilliant thing about these pastes is that they are fully machine washable and don't need any form of heat setting! That's the reason Ive made so many cushions. Above you can see some cushion I made ( yes I even got my sewing machine out) using the large Stag mask ( not chosen because it matches any Living room honest!)
Opposite is the large Zebra which is perfect for hot modern colours as above art for a rainbow of colours as below!
There is also a Christmas set which has 5 masks within the set all included in one packet perfect for your Christmas cards as well as for Christmas bedding and table settings.
I hope you can tune in at 8am this morning to see the range or pop in at 12pm for the launch of my first range of Embossing folders ( with some new hints tips and products to go with them!)
Hochanda is available on freeview channel 85, Sky 663, Freesat 817 or online at www.hochanda.com.
STOP PRESS...STOP PRESS...STOP PRESS...STOP PRESS.
Also brilliant news today Mrs Duck has opened her web shop yesterday just click HERE to see all the goodies she is stocking!
