Happy Sunday,
A simple stamped project today using my daisy quit striplet stamp and the summer garden mica pigment set.
I stamped the triplet using perfect medium and brushed different colours form the mica set over the stamped area. Once brushed off the mica sticks to the stamped area and adds colour and, in real life, a beautiful shine.
Next I cut the centre die form the bevelled glass triplet in a piece of blush card. I added a panel of card covered in CE double sided adhesive sheet and brushed the same shades of mica over it. I cut a matching aperture next to the die cut using the outline die form the set and foam mounted the stamped image behind.
A stamped sentiment, stamped in the same method with mica, form my diary chains clear stamp set was added to the front along with a heart dazzler and a blush coloured stain double bow.
Ingredients:
John Lockwood striplet stamp daisy quilt
Daisy chains clear stamp set
bevelled Glass striplet die
summer garden mica pigment set

Something Different Saturday...
Happy Saturday,
As promised yesterday another use for extending your classic weaving die. I had promised Sue that I would make a basket with this die as its the first thing I saw when I cut the die. This is the result of quite a lot of experimenting!
I simply extended the pattern twice in coconut white to make a long strip. Next I cut 2 sets of the classic weaving die, in lilac, and cut it into strips and simply wove the piece. To finish the edge I used the Cygnus gemini die cutting the outside edge then adding the detail to emboss.
I made the handle with a longer strip of the weaving and added some flowers I made in the lilac card using the cornflower die. I coloured the edges of the flowers using dusty concord distress ink and added different sized dazzlers from the purple selection which has 3 sizes and a mix of colours and, like nature, allows different coloured centres for the flowers.
Ingredients:
Creative Expressions Craft dies by Sue Wilson
Classic Weaving die
Gemini Cygnus die
Cornflower die
lilac & coconut white foundation card
Mixed purples dazzlers
dusty concord distress ink pad
Just a quick note on the Pin IT button, I have added a new button to my blog so that you can pin any picture you want form it, past or present. If you hover your mouse over the picture you want then a Pin It button in red will appear in the top left corner simply click it and it will open your pinterest and ask which board you want to pin it to.

Blue Friday...
Happy Friday,
I know there has been a lot of blue this week but I couldn't let Friday pass without showing another blue card. This is another of the demo cards I did however this was for the Pick of the Day show on Ideal World and Create and craft as few weeks ago. I thought I had posted this one but I guess not as I can't find it lol If you have spotted it before please let me know!
I stared by die cutting the classic weaving die out of coconut white foundation card however this time I placed the die back on the card further along to extend the lines. The great beauty of this die is that it doesn't have a cutting edge at the bottom so by slotting the die back into the cut lines further on you can make the strips as long as you need.
Next I cut 2 sets of the classic die in periwinkle blue card and simple wove the 2 colours together to make this longer panel of the weaving. I hand cut an aperture in a square (18x18cm) of coconut white card then embossed it with the A4 fine finials embossing folder. I simply rubbed enchanted gold gilding wax over the raised are and polished it off with a dry wet wipe.
It make the centre element I cut a piece of periwinkle using the santorini die I used the largest and the filigree section to cut this then cut a piece of the white using just the largest die to make a mat. I cut the next outline down in the set in coconut white and stamped the sentiment, form my cherry blossom stamp set, in the centre
I made a cut on each side of the piece and threaded a length of bluebird satin ribbon through like a buckle and foam mounted this onto the front.
To finish the card I added PVA pearls using the summer blue cosmic shimmer and added a few mats of the blue and white to make a 21 x 21cm card finished size.
I also used this technique of extending the weaving for tomorrows project and the great news is it isn't in blue! lol

Periwinkle & coconut white foundation card

Golden Gate Californian...
Happy Thursday,
Today's card is another demo piece form the US shows however I have used the stamp to die for as we'll as the shapes form the Californian collection for this, again small, card.
I started by stamping the Golden Gate Stamp to die for in perfect medium onto CE heat resistant acetate, I then embossed the piece with comic shimmer bright gold detail embossing powder. Next I cut an aperture, in a piece of coconut white foundation card, using the largest die in the Basic frames set A form the Californian collection. I mounted this over the acetate stupid piece and added a frame, cut in antique gold foundation card, made with the largest die in the decorative frames set and the largest die form the plain frames set.
Ive made the picture of the main piece quite large so that you can, hopefully, see the detail in the embossed stamping on the acetate as well as the iced snow behind the stamping.
The backing is a piece of CE double sided adhesive film that I added to a mat of vintage gold and sugared with iced snow. I then foam mounted the centrepiece over this.
The centre of this card is made with a die cut from the smallest die in the Beverly Hills set stuck over the acetate and finished with an 8mm stick on pearl.
The bow, made using Sue's Classic bow die, is stamped with the Floral Bow stamp in true white detail embossing folder stamped onto vintage gold. I made up both the loops you get in the set and the finishing ribbon 'tails' and added it to the bottom of the Beverly hills die cut.
To finish the card I added some small, 3mm, stick on pearls around the frame and mounted the whole piece on a couple of layers, layered with foam tape of course, of the white and gold.

Creative Wednesday...
Happy Wednesday,
Today is the start of a new Month over at the Creative Expressions Blog so we have a new challenge however there have been a couple of other changes as well. The Design Team has been split into 2 teams one for Die cutting using Sue Wilson dies for Creative Expressions and one using the Creative Expressions stamp ranges. Before you ask I am in the Die Cutting team as I am sure you all know this is my first love. Its worth popping over to the Blog HERE to see who is in each team and to say Hi to Debbie Stevens who has joined the team, to see her fabulous blog click HERE.
This months challenge is to use the new Lisbon Die along with the matching Floribuna stamp to die for as the main elements. its going to be fun to see what the team has come up with with the same elements! I love working to a strict list of ingredients as I think it helps bring out the creativity in all of us!
I stared today by pulling out a co,lord scheme and what else would i start with but a range of blues. I started by die cutting the smallest three dues in the set form the new Royal Blue foundation card from Creative Expressions. The smallest three have an oval centre a filigree section and an outline die, when cut together they give the brilliant shape that I used in the four corners. I embossed a piece of coconut white card, cut to 18x18cm and placed one die cut in each of the corners.
Next I die cut the same die from before (the third largest) along with the next two up to make the centre poetics. I cut this twice and rotated one of them to make this symmetrical shape. I love the way that sues dies make different shapes if you simply layer them in different ways.
I mounted this on a square of card, cut to 10x10cm, which I embossed with the same scored lines folder and added a couple the smallest pierced flags die cut in the blue.
I foam mounted this piece in the centre over 2 more pierced flags to balance the design. Finally I stamped the sentiment, form my Daisy Chains stamp set, in cobalt archival ink and cut it with the third die in the Lisbon set. I also shaded the piece whilst in the die using the ska cobalt ink.

A little dark?!?...
Happy Tuesday,
Well today's question is is this a little dark? I really enjoyed getting my, limited. grungy side out for this card as well as some stamping with one of my favourite stamps. I have had this stamp for years and was one of my first purchases form Creative Expressions the text background stamp.
I started by stamping the text stamp. in black archival ink, three times twice in a row down a piece of coconut white foundation card and once as a single panel. Next I cut these out, by hand!, and inked the edges using vintage photo distress ink to age the pieces. I mounted both of these onto thin matts of black card so that the black stamping was balanced and framed. Next I die cut the Greek Island collection border form chestnut foundation card and added it over a piece of black seem binding I had tied on the edge of each panel.
For the centre panel I cut a piece of the border down however I added some of the leaves behind the panel just popping out. I then die cut the Enjoy expressions die form black card and mounted this along the bottom edge.
TO make up the card I embossed a piece of card using the A4 knotted trellis embossing folder and again distressed it using the vintage photo distress ink. I again mounted this onto back card and added it to a large piece of card (sorry I didn't measure this one however its got to be just short of A4 card!)
To add balance die cut the corner form the Greek island collection and added this in the bottom corner.
Let me know what you think is this too dark and distress for me?

Greetings from the U.S of A ...
Happy Monday,
I don't eat today's title to be misleading I am not in America however today's card is one of the demo pieces I made for the shows I did on Create and craft U.S last weekend. I was lucky enough to showcase Sue's dies form the first 2 releases so got to make and demonstrate my favourite dies form the collections. I started, as those of you who have followed me for a while will know, with my favourite die from the first release the Californian background.
If you scroll through my earlier pants form last year you will see so many designs made with this background!
Therefore for my first demo I had to use this one and to meet the Americans Love of smaller cards I limited myself to making one that was no bigger than A5 (approx 5"x7").
I started by die cutting the background using a piece of vellum which cuts like a dream, i studded it with 5mm stick on pearls in white and mounted it in ahead cut frame made form cobalt and coconut white foundation card. Next I used the Californian collection basic frames (set A) to cut a succession of frame sin the centre of pics of card alternating between white and blue for each size. I foam mounted these going down in size and from mounted the fame and background above the apertures. This is a different way to use a background I suppose as a foreground!
I added a few layers of the white and blue to make the card however I wrapped blue and white seam binding around the farm before adding it to the card. I tied a double bow and added a pale blue dazzler to the centre before adding my sentiment panel.
It make the sentiment panel I stamps the sentiment, form an old just rite set, in cobalt archival ink and die cut it with the smallest die in the frames set. I shade the piece in the die using broken china distress ink and my favourite smoothie! I mounted this one a die cut in the cobalt form the decorate frames (set B) added a pearl and foam mounted this onto the centre of the card.
A relatively simple card however I like the way that the background is the foreground however cut in vellum all the work behind is still visible.
Ingredients:

Californian collection Frames (set A)
Decorative Frames (set B)
Cobalt and Coconut white foundation card
White Vellum
Stick on pearls, 5mm white
Blue & white seam binding
Blue mixed dazzler pack.
