Firstly I know a lot of my Blog Fa,milk have been asking when am I taking break well the answer is Today! I am flying off to sunny climbs for what I hope you will agree is is much needed holiday.  I will be taking my sketch book with me and maybe a few stamps as I will be launching my Summer's Child stamp range on my return on Hochanda at the end of the month ( ODS starting the 30th May)

This does mean that I have scheduled my blog posts for the next 10 days however I hope you won't mind but I have simplified these to the Holiday set which means that I will post pictures of the cards along with an ingredients list.  Normal service will resume on my return!

Back to Today's card and this is a demo that I didn't get to give on last weeks show as the products were selling out so fast I was struggling to keep up!

To make the background I cut the Ravello Striplet across the middle of the card then slotted the die back in at the centre point to make the background.  I then cut the Sydney die in Lilac and mounted this on a die cut of white.  I foam mounted this on top.








I cut each of the sweetheart flowers twice in lilac and white and did the same with the matching open petals and made top the flowers ( I used the fall out hearts on the corners and made one set, rotating the colours, stacked and one set I left as single flowers and used them around the centre to frame the detail.  I added lace edged leaves and studded the whole card with stick on pearls.

Lilac Roses...

The question on this card is is it too much?!?  I can't work out if this card is juts right or whether it is over embellished lol

I stared by cutting the detail and outside die from the Sydney die set  twice in lilac foundations card.  I backed this with white card with double sided adhesive added and added diamond sprinkles to the exposed adhesive.










I rotated the die cuts to change the shape and give the layered look as shown.  Next I cut the centre lattice and the snnallest circle included in the set in lilac and added this to a die cut of the circle in white.  I foam mounted this on top and studied the lattice with 3mm white stick on pearls.

The rest of the card is made uo as shown using embossed lilac card coated in the Metallic Gilding Polish Pearl Lustre

Something Different Saturday...

Well it is a card however the difference this week is the colour choice not one I would normally use but I have to admit that I like it!

I stared by cutting the filigree section from Rococo striplet in honeydew foundation card I just cut the detail into the card and didn't use the outline.  Next I cut 2 of the dies form the double pierced backgrounds one in bright white and one in primrose I cut these together into 3 sections making a band in the middle the seam width as one of the panels on the striplet die.  I stuck these back together and cut the outline die form one piece being careful to make sure that the centre panel fitted the striplet.

Next i added the other piece, the primrose and white panel, behind the cut striplet and added a resin rose in a matching yellow on the centre of each piece of the striplet design as shown.

I matted this on primrose foundation card and added a few layers of the honeydew, primrose and white for definition.  Finally I added seam binding bows in matching yellow and green at the edge with an 8mm pearl in the centre to hide the knot and join.

a very different colour combination for me but hopefully it may make us all think about using colours that are outside our comfort zone!

I have added few more pictures so that you can get the idea! However the only section I didi not demo was the gilding polish on the embossed layer as this sold out so quickly!  I know Creative Expressions will be working hard to bring this back as soon as possible.

Hochanda Day 2...

Don't forget I am continuing with the One Day Special on Hochanda today at 9am, 12pm, 4pm and Last Chance at 7pm.  I hope some of you were able to catch last nights launch show with Leonie it was such a laugh.

Today's card is another potential demo card from today's shows let me know if you want to see how this one is made!

I used the Ravello striplet as well as the centre die from the Maggie Frames and Tags die set to make the lattice in the centre.  I also thought I should try something new and rather than peerage I have gone for an overdose of Diamante!
