Layered Flakes...

Happy Monday,

Firstly thankyou for all the wonderful Birthday wishes yesterday I had  a very relaxing day off so its back to the girndstone now!  Todays card is made using the snowflake lattice background.

I cut the die out in a light blue a navy blue and white ( all Linen Card from Crafts Too)  I then layered them rotating the die each time.

I then added the white snowflakes over the top.

For the backing I cut squares of the three colours and added a different square in a lattice pattern behind each snowflake to give the patchwork feel.

I finished with mats and layers to make the panel into an 8"x8" card and added stick on crystals in the corners and points of all the snowflakes.

Metal shine...

Happy Thursday,

Another cut and emboss folder sample today this time using the winter trees folder and gilding sheets.

I simply added a sheet of the Crafts Too gilding sheets to a square of card covered in my double sided adhesive sheets.  I then ran this piece through my die cutting machine using the folder which embossed in the detail and cut the aperture.

Next I ran over the top of the raised area using a black inked ( this is one of the only times I use Stazon as it sticks and dries on the metal)

I added the window of snow and acetate and stamped a flying santa in the window.

Colour, Cut and Emboss...

Happy Tuesday,

A simple card today made using the snowflake swirl cut and emboss folder.

I simply inked the folder using Izink Pigment ink in sky blue and ran it through my gemini to emboss, letterpress and cut the aperture.  I added a layer of silver mirror card using my media plate dies and made a background using silver Izink pigment ink and a finger dauber.  I coloured a stag form my deer scenes die and added this before adding a piece of snow acetate.

I extended the size from a square to a rectangle by adding a strip of ribbon at the top and matted the card as shown using a twisted mat to add more frame.

A few elegant snowflakes and complete.
