Pretty in pink(ish)...

Happy Friday,

I called this post pretty in pink(ish) as I always think this colour is pinkish and not true pink./  I love the way it works so well with black which can be a problem with some shades of pink.

I started by cutting the Gerbera Square frame in the blush card I mounted this over a white piece stamped with the sentiment from my Gerbera Daisy clear stamp set.  I framed this in white using the matching square die in the set.  I then added a frame made in the blush with the Press Cut stitch dot square dies.

I then stamped the Gerbera Daisy flowers onto white copy paper and cut them out with the matching die.  I coloured the edges of the flowers with Rose Izink dye ink pad and scrunched the flowerers to make 3 shabby blooms.  I arranged these on a messy bow of off white and black ribbon. I threw in a few hat pins just to frame the spray and a couple of the smallest dragonflies cut in black and backed with white.

Finally I added a few layers of the blush, white and some black to balance the stamping.  I also threw in some pearl strips and embossed panel just to add to the interest level! making this small (6"x6") card.

Simple Ribbon...

Happy Thursday,

A little simpler card today made using just one of the dies in the Ribbon Threader set I love how just one die can make an entire background!

I simply cut the smaller ribbon threader die into a pice of card repeating the pattern.  I then threaded ribbon through this using every other slot on alternate rows.

I added a gerbera daisy using Glitter foam with a Craft Too brad in the centre.

Ice Silver Squares...

Happy Wednesday,

A little more complex card today as I feel I have been neglecting the Square Gerbera frame and I have had so much fun using it!

I started by cutting the Gerbera Square background die out of Ice Silver lustre print card.  I cut each palm out using the stitched square die included in the same set.  I flat mounted these onto more of the Ice Silver and foam mounted each square onto a larger 7" x7" square adding mats and layers to make this n 8" x 8" card when finished.

Next I cut the Gerbera Flower die twice to give me 12 flowers in two passes form one A5 piece of card ( well when its special card you want the most value from it!)  I shaped the flowers using a ball tool and made up six individual daisies I added glue in the centre and added Crafts Too white micro beads in the centre for texture.  I cut the matching Gerbera Leaves in more of the white twice giving me 6 sets of leaves( the other A5 piece of card was perfect for this agin great value)

I cut the With Love tag sentiment the outline and then the outline die with the stitched die together to make a frame and added all of these to make the sentiment tag with dimension.  I arranged this with the leaves and flowers around the left of the card creating a spray focul point.

A classic Me card I feel.

Blue Ribbon...

Happy Tuesday,

I guess its back to work for most people today in the U.K. I have taken a couple of days off ( though i have been drawing which I never think counts lol)  I thought I would share a card made with the ribbon threader die set.

I threaded the ribbon arround the circle die cut.  I then wove ribbon through the loops repeating this to get the crossover pattern as shown.

I simply added an embossed layer and the with love tag with my usual set of mats and layers in white, blue and black.

Silver Dragonflies...

Happy Monday,

I hope everyone have a lovely restful Easter, I took some time off but was drawings do new exciting things to come!

I thought as its a bank Holiday I would go with something simple today with just the dragonflies.

I simply cut 4 square panels using the inner die from the Gerbera Square background set.  I then cut the dragonfly, the largest, form the centre of each square.  I mounted these onto silver glitter card and put back the dragonfly by adhering it in the centre and folding out the wings.

I added the with love tag cut in silver and black and added my usual layers of black, silver and glitter card.

Easter Sunday Gold...

Happy Easter Sunday,

As usual I have made a card or project specifically for today I was going to make an easter egg box as I have done in the past but i just couldn't get it right ( I'm sure that happens to all of us!) So i went with making this gold and white easter card which uses a new technique with the Izink Diamonds!

I stared by cutting my Gerbera Lattice three times in gold dust white card I used spray glue to add 2 of these layered onto another piece of the card.  I then, using a spatula, spread the Gold Izink Diamonds over this so that the glitter paint filled the gaps in the die cut.  I added a further layer on top to neaten the piece however this really wasn't required as it came away very clean.

The centre of the flowers are made by painting the Gold Diamonds onto a piece of card and cutting it out using the press cut card candy die which fits perfectly in the centres.

I wrapped a piece of silk gold ribbon around the background finishing with a messy bow and pearl strings

I stamped the Gerbera daisy stamp in perfect medium onto more of the card and heat embossed it with the new Izink Extra Fine detail gold embossing powder ( this is the finest embossing powder i have ever used its like dust lol)

I cut the flowers out with the matching die and shaped them arranging them on the bow as shown.

I added layers of pearls gold and white with gold mirror card.
