Christmas Friday

Happy Christmas Friday!

As this is my last Christmas Friday, for a while at least, I thought I would show you what I did with some of the decorations I made!  This is one of my trees which feature the fabric baubles and crackers ( see tomorrow or Sunday for these)

Next are the boxes I made with Christmas on them, these were used on the stairs and the wreath I wrap along my curtain pole.

A Mans Christmas

happy Thursday All!,

Todays card is another quick one, this time made for my friends Father in Law.  She wanted a card that was Christmassy yet still masculine, a tough order for Christmas which to me should be bright.  This is what I came up with.

The background for this is made using a chalk white inkpad and the Chocolate Baroque snowflake stamp I have been using loads at the moment.  This is simply layered onto white and black cardstock to make a 14 x 14cm card.  The sentiment is stamped and embossed in detail white powder.

Finally a simple double layered white on white snowflake cut from Spellbinders frosty forms die.

Simple, a little dark but exactly what was ordered.

Sweet Trees!

Happy Wednesday,

Now there is a story connected to these sweet filled trees, at work I make sweet bouquets, more of those next year, I have to keep something in my bag of tricks!  The bar next door decorated their tables using Christmas trees with sweets hanging on them, my boss asked if I could have a go at making some for sale and these are my first attempt!

They are simple wine bottles, empty and recycled from my evening job, card and tinsel.

Let me know what you think they go on sale today!

Little Time Left...

Happy Tuesday!

Another quick post I'm afraid seriously running out of time this year.  This card was made to replace some of those Mel took yesterday!

This background is made using the acetate and glitter card technique.  I stamped the chocolate baroque snowflake stamp, using archival ink, onto acetate before laying it over a sheet of white glitter card.

The remainder of the card is a simple frame in Mirri card, black edge and a white 15x15cm card blank.

The top is decorated with mixed, die cut, snowflakes and a glitter card cut sentiment (tonic die) a few pearls (as usual) a couple of gems and complete.

Necessity is...

The mother of all invention!

Happy Monday, to be honest I had nothing new to show today as I had rehearsals all day!  However my friend came round last night to, in her words, Riffle through your card drawers.  She needed 3 simple Christmas cards to post to the UK which had to be flat (in addition to 6 of those featured on here in the last few weeks that made it into the handy bag she brought to carry them home in!)  Therefore I had 20 minutes to make 3 simple cards for her in laws and so these were born.

This one is my favourite!  All three are using Spellbinders snowflake pendant 2013, glitter and normal card and 13cm card blanks.

Hopefully this shows that simple can, sometimes, be just as effective.

Happy Monday, Enjoy...

As Promised

Happy Sunday!

As promised last Sunday, or possibly Monday here is a card made with the die I used for the aperture shown on my Hobbycutz DT project.

The die used for Sizzix snowflake wreath it creates the most beautiful, delicate, wreath of snowflakes.  I have used this die, in similar col, ours, on my family Christmas cards however you will have to wait until Christmas day to see this one.

I made a white card blank using PMD hammered cardstock at 15 x 15 cm and cut one of the die from the centre of the card.  Next I cut the same in a graphite glitter card, rotated this over the aperture added a few gems and pearls and foam mounted this over the top.

Next I stamped the sentiment on a piece of acetate and stuck this in the gap with a simple snowflake, cut in white glitter card. on the edge. The card looked a little stark so I used some graphite mica powder dusted over the surface and around the edges to make the colours blend.

Hope this is a good presentation of this die and makes up for the lack of description of last weeks card.

Something Different Christmas Saturday

Happy Saturday Lovely people!

Todays different is, as always, a box lol however this is a series of box's each holding a surprise!  I have been trying to work out my own advent calendar and this was my first attempt.  This one is a mantelpiece decoration and the pictures truly do not do it justice.  Mainly because I don't have a mantelpiece!

As you can see this is a series of hanging box's each cut in different pieces of Do'crafts home for Christmas paper.  I have decorated each one with different die cuts using the dies I have listed below.  if you zoom in you will see the legend Merry Christmas strung across these with one letter, cut in glitter card, on each box.

Here you can see one of the box's open with a small packet of chocolates inside.

The box's were cut using a Sizzix Pro die using 12 x 12 cardstock.  Now this die needs a large machine so I have to admit that I have saved my pennies and bought a Sizzix Big Shot Pro which takes a sheet of 12 x 12 cardstock.

The box's are threaded onto pencil stripe ribbon from Beresford's Which allows them to hang freely as a mantelpiece item or be used on the Christmas tree as baubles.

Dies used Spellbinders labels one, frosty forms, scalloped circles, snowflake pendant.

I have some ideas for using these as a full advent calendar but these may have to wait for next Christmas, hopefully I can present these early enough next year to make it available as a kit as I know this is an expensive machine and die.
