I've titled this post stolen flowers as I nicked the the technique of making the Bee Balm flower into the stunning flowers shown here form Bahnu Patel the amazing owner and crafter at Sunrise crafts. She showed me a card made with the flowers that looked like this and I didn't even realise they were made with my die set! And soon as I got home I had to make my version of them.
I simply cut the Bee Balm die twice in white pearl card and shaded the petals of each flower using Encre Izink dye based ink pad. I then shaped the flowers and pinched the ends of the petals using 2 of each size of flower to kale each single flower. I repeated this with all 6 sizes of flower ( however I like flowers in odd numbers so I haven't used the smallest flower here) adding a Crafts Too small silver Diamond in the centre of each flower so that the purple shows through.
I cut the swirling leaves in the same card and shaped these shading them with menthe Izink dye based ink pad. I cut into the leaves and added then tucked around the flowers.
The main card was made in lilac Crafts Too linen card using the Bee Balm background extended to make a large 8" long panel. I added a strip of ribbon across the top finishing with a bow.
I cut the largest solid butterfly in the pearl card adding a filigree butterfly, from the same set, cut in lilac over the top with gems added as the body. I placed the butterfly over the bow making sure that it pops over the top of the card.
