Shiny Bee's...

Happy Wednesday,

I can't believe its been month already but today sees my monthly workshop at Breedon Priory! we will be playing with the pocket watch dies and the new Bee Balm collection.

Today I am sharing a card made with the Bee Balm collection and the Crafts Too scoreboard that was the Bonus on Hochnada.  Ive never tried scoring parchment before but I love the look of this with the Bee;'sin the centre of each panel.

I started by using the embossing board to score the 9 squares onto a piece of parchment which gave me the gridlines for the stamping of the bees.  I then stamped one of each size of the bee from my Bee Balm stamp set in the centre of each square repeating this unit, I had all three rows.  I then heat embossed these with the Izink Transparent glitter embossing powder.  I framed the pice using the Press Cut Stitch doit and plain square dies and from mounted this onto a set of my usual mats and layers.

Next I stamped the bee balm flowers using the single stamp using embossing ink and the same glitter embossing powder.  I heat set these then placed the large Bee Balm flower die on the registration marks to cut this out I love the fact all six cut in one die and one pass.  I shaped the flowers adding a Crafts Too diamond in the centre of each flower.  I cut the Swirl leaves and arranged these on the bottom corner of the card arranging the flowers on top.

Finally I cut the Butterflies, just using the filigree dies, and shaped these before adding them too the arrangement with gems in the centre.

Ingredients:
JND Bee Balm Stamp
JND Bee Balm Flowers dies
JND Small Butterflies
JND Swirl Leaves
Press Cut Plain and Stitch Dot squares

Parchment and gems from my stash.

Enjoy...

  9. Lovely I have only tried parchment once A friend at craft let me play but it was the “old fashioned” way (not what I mean but you know what I mean!) using ink to mark design out etc Very faffy and time consuming Boards like these and Groovi have made all the difference

  22. Hello John,
First of all - a gorgeous card today! The vellum squares each with a bee look so effective! I love the card.
Yesterday I mentioned about your 1pm Show and the cardblank book! I’ve watched it and I’ve ordered the Die because it will be great for my After School Club prep. We’ve made books before but paper had to be cut using the guillotine and that’s so time consuming and not always accurate! This Die will be worth its weight in gold! Thank you!! Sorry to go on!
