Dragonflies in flight...
I really hope the snow and cold weather hasty affected you all too much as I wrote we dont have any snow here though it has been trying all day ( it stared at lunchtime during yesterdays workshop but thankfully didn't settle!) I wanted to share a simple card today where the Dragonflies are the main element. We use dies like these and flowers as an accent but they can be used as the main focus element of the card.
I stared with the background piece which was made using the Izink mer du sud pigment ink pad, my large media plate and a peacock feather ( I have demoed this on Hochanda a few times) I have had this piece since my last media plate shows but didn't know what to do with it it makes a perfect backing for the dragonflies.
I added some strips of ribbon down the left hand side in white and blue and foam mounted ted the white and blue panel over the top.
I cut the outer dragonfly die in blue card adding the detail die over the top in white glueing them in the centre so that I could fold back the wings as shown. I added a Habico gem in the centre ( from the Art of Craft) and stamped the trail on below the dragonflies in the Mer Du Sud izink pigment ink. The trails come from my Butterfly Corners clear stamp set which are the perfect size and style with these, you could use these as a guide and add a pearl or gem on each dot!
