Christmas tree...

Happy (real) Sunday,

Sorry for the mistake in the day yesterday as I am sure you can all imagine I am rather tired after everything this week!  I do have to say a big thank you again to everyone who has helped and supported me through the launch with a special mention to everyone who came to Inspirations in Preston on Thursday and Friday to see the first live demo of John Next Door!

A couple of bits of news today so don't forget to scroll down to the bottom of todays post to see info on a special Workshop!  I thought today I would share a card made with my products and other Crafts Too products.

I started this card at the demo on Friday with a mixture of my Winter Trees stamps and the Magic Stamp.

I stared by heating a cut down rectangular magic stamp which I then pushed into the christmas style tree from the winter trees set.  This creates a negative stamp of the image.  I inked this with ultramarine and the ocean izink die ink pads and stamped it in the centre of a pice of card.  This leaves a perfect white tree against the shaded background.  Next I positioned the actual tree stamp in the white space and using the Press to Impress stamp platform I stamped the tree in black exactly in the middle ( This is almost impossible for me with a stamp block as I always got outside the line!

The background is a piece from something I am trying so its a bit of a sneak peak!

Now onto the news Mrs Duck and I will be holding a workshop all details below.  I keep getting g asked if I do workshops that aren't in a specific shop so we thought we would create one!  This is the first one so spaces are listed and it even includes lunch!

There will also be a pop up shop selling my latest ranges and other selected products!

Enjoy...

  2. Great card. I don't have any of the new stamps yet but they are on my shopping list. Really disappointed that I won't be able to get to your first independent workshop, especially as it's not too far from home. Unfortunately I'll be at Chatsworth country fayre for the whole weekend with our classic car. Hopefully this will be the first of many so I'll get to your next one.
Have a relaxing day today. I can understand how mixed up with the days you are but you do need some me time! You must be thrilled that it's all gone so well though.
    Happy crafting,
    D xx

    Hi John,
love the card today as well as yesterday's post. Red being MY colour.

Now don't overdo it John, you'll burn yourself out! Wishing you success with all your products, but you won't need my good wishes as your products are flying off the shelves. Well done!
    Hugs, Rose

  8. Another amazing card John. Now I think you need to come up to at least the borders area to do a workshop like your doing in September. I know a few ladies who would be there. We Scottish are willing to travel but the midlands is just not possible these days and we are busy when that one is on. Have a chilled day ( if that's possible with you!). I am pleased you had another fantastic time doing your shows. Hazel x

Wonderful news that you are doing your own workshop, I wish you every success with that (and maybe in the future you can do one a bit further south).

  28. Hello John,
Love today's technique and the "snow" effect that's been created by stamping with the magic stamp then the original stamp on top. Very clever.
Now then, it will take at least 4 hours driving to get to Coventry, the train doesn't start soon enough to get there in time for the 10 a.m. start, and forget about planes, Coventry doesn't have an airport!! I reckon you've chosen there so that I won't be able to make it!! A couple of hundred miles further north would be better and Ang would enjoy it ha ha.
Am now going to play again with the media plates. I had a bit of bother yesterday but Patricia gave me some hints and tips, and Myra gave me some grief!! ha ha.

  31. Wish I could swim the Atlantic Ocean to be at your workshop and luncheon. Maybe another time - I can only wish. Congratulations on the venture out on your own, with Ang's help, to have a special workshop. Sounds exciting. Best wishes and much success, too. This is counting down to be one BIG year for you. Wish I had excess to the Magic Stamp and the Press to Impress Stamp Platform.

  32. Love the white outline and great way to do it. Lol I was one of the cheeky ones who remarked about you getting the day wrong, but really I have no room to talk as I rarely know what day of the week it is, so of course you are excused. lol I think we would let you off for most things so its lucky you don't seem the type to murder anyone!!

    Love and hugs
