Happy Tuesday,
When I was in Washington at the weekend a lady ( sorry I'm no good with names) Showed me a card she had made with the Spellbinders Ironwork elements die set and we got into a discussion of how nice this die was! I mentioned how great it looks in mirror card so as soon as I got home i had to make this card to show how well it works.
I stared by cutting the frame in the set twice in gold mirror card. I rotated these and slipped the edges under each other as shown to make a square. Next I added a panel in the white pearl card using one of the other dies in the set and topped this with a layer of gold and finally white ( all die cuts from the ironworks die set) I added some stick on pearls to to highlight the detail.
I added a bow in silk ribbon and thin satin ribbon and tucked this under the bottom edge of the main element.
The background is made with the spellbinders butterfly die cut and mounted in white pearl card.
A few more layers of the mirror and pearl cards to finish a small card (for me anyway!)
Enjoy...
Morning John, what a wonderful elegant card to wake up to this morning, love it, must see if I have that one.

Hi John, A really great card today. It is so nice seeing older dies being used. These dies are expensive and I think we are all guilty of using just the current new ones. I am definitely going to have a look through my stash of dies and re-visit them. Thank you for the prompt. Love Rosemarie X
ReplyDeleteI have this die set but it didn't cut well in my Wizard - never tried it in my Calibur! I must get it out. This is a a lovely card, John.
