Autumnal Lucy...

Happy Wednesday,

There is a little bit of an autumnal feel to todays card but I think its just the colour change the shades and this would look really spring like.

I started by cutting a square of coconut white foundation card with the noble double pierced squares and then cut the outline die from the Lucy frames and take set into this. I backed this with a piece of tan card and cut the detail and the next outline die from the set into the correct place in the piece.  next I cut a larger square of papyrus foundation card and cut the outline into this so it sat behind the tan pattern finally I cut the final die in the set in white and phone mounted all of the pieces together as shown.

For the background I cut a piece of tan using a larger square die from the noble set and whilst in the die embossed the piece using the honeycomb haven A4 embossing folder, this technique gives a beautiful debossed pattern.

I made up a spray of flowers using the chrysanthemum die in various colours from the card and backed this with the lace edged leaves cut in papyrus.

Finally I added different sized and coloured gasless to the centres of the flowers and a few mats Andreas to frame and finish the card.

Enjoy...

  2. Morning John, oh another stunner for us today, love the papyrus foundation card, I was lucky enough to buy some the other day following you being on Hochanda, got some Mocha too, they are really stunning colours. Anyway I digress, back to today's card, yes it is Autumnal but what fun you could have changing the colours around, spring, Christmas to name but a few. Look at the wonderful Chrysanthemums, perfect for this type of card.

Only 3 more sleeps until AP, hope to see you there.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  21. Very beautiful indeed John. Unusual colours too. I'm still not sure about the chrysanthemum flowers, but lots of people are using them, so maybe I'm the odd one out!

  28. Such a pretty card, though I would prefer it in a different colourway. I have just returned from my month in the sun but although I have followed your blog whilst I was away I was unable to leave comments - google decided someone was fraudulently using my account abroad (IT WAS ME) and closed my account until I could confirm it was me by signing in on my normal ip address - uh, I do not take my whole computer on holiday so was unable to do this until my return - so stupid.
Anyway I love some of the cards you made (well most of them) but especially liked the ones using the Infinity Striplet and the Olivia Frame and Tag die.
I am looking forward to Ally Pally on Sunday and hope I will see you again whilst I am there. CE stand will be the one we are heading for first.

    Hugs

  31. Loverly card John and as you and others say would be just as nice in spring colours. When you get back from Ally Pally l wonder if you could answer a question for me. I have Sues oval pin frames love it to bits. I want to buy a rectangle one but there are three choices. I want to be able to get approx 4 from an a4 piece of card, then when l mat and layer smaller or larger to fit the four pieces l have cut. I hope l have explained. So which one do l buy, any suggestions l would appreciate. Hope you all have a good time at the weekend. Can't make it this year but last year hubby took my 17year old granddaughter and myself and we enjoyed all the demonstrations. Kind regards Sandra
