Vintage Friday...

Happy Friday,

Sorry I missed vintage fro day last week but I wanted to keep the Papercuts giveaway going!  Therefore today I was determined to go back as I want to make as many of the Friday posts as I can using older dies from my Sue Wilson collection of dies.  Today's is using the Austrian collection ( I have to admit along with Scandinavian one of my personal faves but I have a soft spot for ovals!)

I stared this time by choosing the colour combination and this mix of Blue Dusk, Black and Slate Grey really sang to me when I was selecting it.  I cut the Austrian collection background 4 times in slate grey foundation card I added 2 back to back on a pice of duck egg card.  I mounted this over a larger piece and added the other 2 borders at each side to highlight the design.

Next I cut the Vienna die in slate and shadowed this with a black die cut.  I then cut the oval die form the Salzburg die and added this around the centre.  I then stamped the sentiment on a pice ion pearl icicle card and cut this with the centre of the Austrian collection background die.

I cut the detail die from the classic rose die in duck egg and backed this with the slate grey.  I added black fern trio die cuts behind these and arranged these around the central element.

enjoy...

I've got stuck in a rut and can't seem to get going on card making. All the cards I've done sine before Christmas are in classes.
Then again I've been doing other crafts.
I need to make Birthday cards, lots of family birthdays coming up. So this weekend I shall be looking through your blog for inspiration get my craft table cleared and hope to get some cards made.
Keep up the great work you do.

  13. Morning John, a really stunning card today, love the way you are reminding us of the older dies so that they get an airing again, I think the colours got a bit messed up but it doesn't matter, I wonder what it would look like in the colours you mentioned.

My prize die arrived yesterday, thank you again so much, I will be playing with it later today.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  23. Love this John (another collection still to be completed and its the background missing in this set). However on my computer it looks black and white and tan - nothing like the colours you have said lol. But I really like the colours its showing. I put up a picture of a card the other day which was peachy coloured and all matched as it was done with colour clouds. On the computer it looked like the background and flowers were more orange and yellow and the bow looked brown!!!! who says the camera never lies lol.
