Something Different Saturday...

Happy Saturday,

There are 2  something different's today as I thought I'd show 2 of the projects I made for Julia Watts wedding show with spellbinders earlier this week.  I loved making the gift box from Becca Feeken  in the gloss card and decorating it, it looks complex but once I got the knack it was quite simple, great for making wedding or party favours!

All you do is cut the two main dies twice and simply stick it together.  There is a box that closes inside to keep the favours safe!

Next I made an R.S.V.P. card using the Classic Elegance Tall Pocket die from Spellbinders.  The great thing on this one is that the front die folds round to make a pocket that holds the invitation or card.

I decorated the front using a black organza bow and finished with one of the heart charms from the Craft Consortium Always and Forever embellishment range.  The one I have used is a heart shaped pearl surrounded by Diamante.  I used stick on Diamante on the front pocket to echo this.

As you can see for this picture the card at the front is removable sop that you can add the event details or make the RSVP card for guests to return to you.

Bothe different form standard cards or projects and hopefully some ideas for those summer weddings, parties and events!

Enjoy...

  3. Morning John.
Two lovely samples from the SB set by Becca. I couldn't help but feel for Julia as I watched the recorded shows, although she was 'cackling' Julia's words not mine' may I add, it looked so awkward for her to work comfortably on that stupid work bench !! It's such a pitty that the guys at the studio don't realise that certain sets in the building just don't work for certain demonstrators, so why don't they think ahead, look at who is due when and make the appropriate set available that works for the 'vertically challenged' let's face it, if there was an excellent crafter with wonderful products to show and sell who just happened to be a little person from birth, would they either make a workbench to suit that person or offer them a kick stool or something to stand on ? I know they mention H & S issues but isn't it just as bad for Julia's back and shoulders to try and work on a table too high than it is for a particularly tall person to work on a table that's too low ? Well it's time to put my soap box away, sorry, and wish for you a lovely day. Sorry to rant John xx

  4. Morning John, I am a great favorite of some of the spellbinder dies and these two are no exception, I think this whole wedding collection has some beautiful dies. I am loving the little purse but not sure if I would get the use out of it, but I have bought some of the others that Julia had on her show.

Off to wound clinic again today, it is much less painful so I am hoping the pills have kicked in.

I agree with Stephanie about poor Julia on Hochanda, I am sure this is something they will be looking into for the future, they sound a wonderful company to work for.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  23. Good morning John,
did you make these for a black tie event, as all you need to add was your polish black shoes. Now the black gloss card i just couldn't use for the main reason is i would be forever polishing it to get rid of the fingerprints. Guess who doesn't have a touch screen new fangled phone? Julia and i would be matching book ends in the height department i think but the most precious of all things come in the smallest of packages. Thank you John for the inspiration that you bring to us as Becca's dies are lovely and make the most elegant of projects. Have a great day flower,
