Gentle Roses...

Happy Monday,

Today's card is a bit of an experiment that I did at the Hobby crafts show at the NEC at the end of last month.  Hazel Eaton (Dragon Crafts in Rugby and Hochanda) challenged me to see if I could cut the Ravello Triplet as many times as I could!  Well the frontpiece of their card is what I managed and its cut into the page 6 times in various rotations!  I didn't want to spoil the effect so a simple sentiment across the bottom was the hardest thing to decide!

Hopefully you can see that the die cut never seems to end it should go round and round so you can't tell where I put the triplet to start and finish.  I am planning to demo this on Hochanda so hopefully you will see this demoed own the near future.

I studded the centres with 5mm white stick on pearls and surrounded this with 3mm white pearls.

The background is made using the rose blooms pinpoint embossing folder.  To make the pattern behind I coloured each of the roses using a smoothie and pretty in pink colour cloud blending ink.  I shaded the leaves with fresh grass and covers the coloured areas with pearl moon gilding wax.  Again I am hoping to demo this on Hochanda when I can!

The sentiment, from my Lily of the valley elements set, is stamped in watering can archival and cut using the centre die from the Lauren frames and tag set.  Finally a seam binding tie and bow centred with one of the new Always and Forever wedding embellishments.

Enjoy...

  15. Oh my word John. Clever clogs lol. PLEASE make this a demo, it's fascinating and beautiful both at the same time. Here's me thinking how clever I was making a kind of frame background with the quilted square striplet (whatever it's called) and one of the lovely ladies on a craft/ Sue Wilson/CE fb page showed her makes and takes from a demo day she spent with you and that was one of them lol... and I thought I'd done a first lol, should have guessed shouldn't I ? King of striplet made backgrounds lol.
And I'm blaming you now for making me want this striplet die ! Have a good day John x

  32. Hi John. Lovely card again today. All the die cutting is simply stunning, but, as usual, my eyes are drawn to something else. I can't believe how pretty the background is, peeping out from behind the die cut panel. I am glad you have explained how to do it because I would never have guessed.
