CE Sunday...

Happy Sunday,

Its the last day of Crafting at Ally Pally today and my turn for the design team over at Creative Expressions.  This month the team is working on the fab new range of stamps and matching dies from Justrite and I have to admit I am loving using them!  For today inspiration I have  used the Romantic Roses multistep stamps and dies.  This card is also a sneak Peak as I have this range on Hochanda on the 17th April ( next Sunday) for the launch of the one day special.

I stared this card by stamping the first stamp of the rose in a dark red ink.  I then stamped the detail in a darker shade and finally I used the rose buds stamped in maroon in the centre.  I then cut these out using the matching die set which cuts the stamped image perfectly ( tune in for more detail on the process)

I repeated this with the leaves and the smaller roses in the set and set these to one side.

Next I stamped the sentiment and flourish from the Loving Sentiments clear stamp set in black and the flourish, from the same set, in the lighter red shade ( is used a combination of Distress ink and colour cloud on this card)

I cut this out using the double pierced squares and added pearl strips around the edge.  I then arranged the flowers in a flourish along the bottom and used one smaller rose at the top.

I finished the card with an embossed layer using the scored lines 8 x 8 embossing folder which I coloured with the colour cloud.  a final layer of white and some more pearls and finished.

Don't forget to click HERE to see the Creative Expressions news blog and catch up with what the rest of the team have made this week!

Enjoy...

  11. Morning John, such a stunning card today, the depth of the flowers is amazing, I wished I had got them yesterday now but never mind I can order them on line.

Well what can I say, it was absolutely wonderful to see you again yesterday at Ally Pally, managed to see you first before the rush started, it was great to catch up with you and to see how you have lost weight, well done, it suits you too. Thank you also for all the help you gave not only me but my friends, Gill and Diane and the lovely Theresa, your so inspirational and never ever get tired of helping and advising us, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I must also say the staff on the CE area were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble, as you know I am in a mobility scooter and Wendy and Lisa helped so much getting the stuff I wanted, I managed to get everything on my list and more so was well pleased and at good prices too. I even managed to get the new stamping mat which are like gold dust. Thank you once again and please pass my thanks onto all the staff.

Well I best let you get on because I know you are going to be up to your eyes again today, the people were 3 and 4 deep around you all yesterday and today I expect there to be the same or even more.

Once again thank you so much.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  25. Hi John. What a pretty girlie card for today's post. As discussed yesterday I am sure the colours look better in real life as they look so much better in the close-ups. I look forward to seeing what you come up with on TV next week.

  26. Good afternoon John,
Oh this is such a pretty card, so cheery and happy looking with the colours that you have used. It is nice to see the square lined box embossing folder used and highlighted to tone in with the rest of the card. I think this would make a great card to make for Mum for anytime just because you love her, or for an auntie that means so much or even a sister or friend. Thank you John for a beautiful start to a beautiful day. Have fun at Ally Pally flower although i think you would have anyway,

  35. Eh up John
Very different for you but glorious. I have been looking at these stamps for a while following the discontinuing of the Stampin Up Stippled Blossoms (hoping you may design something in that ilk lol!).
Just as a heads up, no one has updated the CE blog since 30th March.
Hope you're on your way home now.
