A gentle shine...

Happy Tuesday,

I thought today I would show you another card I had prepped for demos on my last stamp show on Hochanda that I just didn't get time to do!  This uses a mixture of the papers, the stamps as well as one of my old favourites from the triplet stamps from last year.  I do like to revisit older products, as I know we all do, as it can't always be new as Im running out of space!

I started this one by stamping the rose triplet three times onto the Sea Spray colour clouded background paper from my paper pack.  I cut these out using one of the striplet outline dies and matted it with aqua foundation card.  Next I stamped the lily lattice circle onto more of the sea spray and coloured in the flower heads using the Pearl Lustre metallic gilding polish.  I stamped the sentiment from my lily of the valley everyday sentiments set and coloured around the cut image ( cut out using the circle die in the Maggie die set designed by Sue Wilson) using are of the pearl lustre polish.  I foam mounted this above and added a simple bow of blue white seam binding and a pearl in the centre.

Next I embossed a piece of bright white card using the eternal ivy embossing folder and added the shine using the Teal Ocean gilding polish.  I shone the polish using a dry wet wipe and then mounted the triplet pieces above this with from tape.

I cut the union square filigree die and after colouring this with the teal polish I added the circlet on top.  A few layers of the aqua and white and finished.  It was great to see if the polish would colour the flowers and be proved right lol.

Enjoy...

  3. Morning John,
    Wow this card is beautiful.
I love the colours you have used.
I've only managed to play with my gilding polishes once so far, but hope to have another play with them this afternoon. I've almost got my craft room done.
It's nice to have some off from babysitting grandchildren.
    Have a great day.

  5. Morning John.
Both yesterday's and today's cards are absolutely gorgeous, so pretty.
I think you are so right about waking up our older tools. There have been so many new additions to the CE warehouse such as dies, papers, various mediums to name just a few that we forget about our first lot of dies, stamps etc, we spend so much on these new items that the older generation get left to gather dust. So I'm going to make something from my very first Sue launch as I saved so hard to buy it, a walk down memory lane is needed xx

  10. Morning John, oh this is stunning and I have placed my order with my supplier for all the primrose and lilly of the valley stamp sets, I am looking forward to getting these. I saw so many beautiful creations on Saturday, they were amazing.

I hope you have recovered from Ally Pally, what a great show it was.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  12. Hello John,
This is such a pretty card , waiting for my gilding polish to arrive as it gives a different aspect to the card. Using older dies and stamps is economical as we can't afford to buy and store all of the new issues.
    Love and crafty hugs

  15. Hi John, great card. I agree we should revisit our older dies and stamps, otherwise it is money wasted. A lot of them can mix and match with the new. Have a great day.

  22. A very pretty card. I agree that it is good to revisit but it is so easy to get carried away buying new offers. You have used the older tools to good effect here.
