CE Sunday...

Happy Easter Sunday,

It's Sunday which means its time for my design team inspiration for the Creative Expressions design team and I thought I would have a play with col,our cloud and some of the January release of dies designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions.  I love the Turquoise pool colour cloud blending ink however I seem to use out far less than I should so today's card is made using this colour and white only!

I started by making a Bokah background using a mini smoothie and just turquoise pool cool cloud bending ink.  Next I cut the outline die form the Maggie frame and take die and added a die cut front using the outline and the filigree section.  I added this on top to make the gentle shaded backing.

Next I cut one set of the sweetheart flowers in white ( outlines and complete petals) and one full set in the colour clouded pare.  I then switched these over and added the white outlines to the turquoise bases and vice versa.  I the pinched each pearl, after cutting each petal to the centre of the flower and mounted these on top of each other to make the three shaped flowers shown.  I added these around the Frame.

Next I stamped the sentiment, form my Lily of the Valley elements stamp set, in the colour cloud onto a circle of bright white card cut form the circle included in the Maggie set.  I then shaded around the edge and foam mounted this into the centre of the frame.  I added the whole piece to a background made with the sea scary colour way from my paper pack added to a die cut form the Australian background.

Finally I added panel of embossing made with the Victorian tile A5 embossing folder which I shaded using the turquoise pool colour cloud.

A few matching dazzlers and layers of white and shaded card and finished.

Enjoy...

  4. Morning John and a happy Easter Sunday to you. Wow this is a lovely card but please excuse my ignorance but what is Bokah background? is it where you emboss a card and then go over it gently with the colour cloud. I must admit that I did not purchase the heart flowers, wish I did now seeing how you have made them turn out, looks like another visit to my supplier.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  10. Hi John, Happy Easter Day,
Thank you for this very pretty card, yes colour clouds are fab, if you are careful with masking you can make a white card look so different using these making a card love as if you have three matts. The sweetheart die is so versatile so glad I bought it.
    Love and crafty hugs

  27. Nice bright cheerful card today John. I wasn't too sure about the Maggie die when I first saw it but I must say I have seen it used effectively a couple of times recently and it looks stunning here on this card today. Love the flowers. What a good idea to use alternate colourways on the different layers and pinching the petals of the top layer to show of the layer underneath.

  29. When I first landed on your page it looked very pink and blue and thought "no I don't like that" What a relief to see it in white and blue! So so pretty I love how you've alternated the layers of the flowers rather than do one of each colour Happy Easter John

  35. Like some others I am seeing pink and blue and wondered what the heck you were up to!!! Appreciate that it is, in reality white not pink. Howeve, that does make me wonder about what pink and blue would look like. Despite the colour problems using the iPad, this is a sweet card and I really like the flowers.

  40. Hi John. I also thought "pink and blue ? Hmm not so sure" then what a beautiful relief when the other photo shows us the bright white ! It really is a bright white - I really love a stark white card. I'm uncertain about the background though, what is it ?
I'm with Hetty, I only have 4 colour cloud ink and want so many more then CE bring out the new polished wosit thingies and I need those too ! What's a lass to do, alll these new paper's dies, inks etc do they allow our craft stash in prison as to rob a bank is the only way I'll ever be able to afford all I really need for my market cards !!
Hohum I need some chocolate 😕
Looking forward to receiving my card, have a good day what's left xx
