Happy Thursday,
I thought you might need something softer after yesterdays ginger spice and the darker shades I have coming up this week!
This was the first demo card I made on the One Day Special shows on Hochanda last week I hope you were able to watch it!
I used the Brand New Filigree Peony stamp for the flowers on this one which perfectly matches the perfect peony complete petals die set designed by Sue Wilson. For this I simply stamped them in watering can archival ink onto primrose foundation card and cut them out using the matching die.
I have to admit to a sneaking admiration for these stamps as I simply love the way the filigree stamps look especially stamped on coloured card as I have here with the primrose. For these flowers I simply stamped all the 6 different sized in the set and cut them out using the matching die set. I used 2 cut per flower and grouped them in size from the largest to the smallest to make 3 individual flower hearts.
To finish I added a 5mm white pearl in the centre and added a couple of Sue Wilson's stick pin elements along with the foliage that again comes in the stamps and die set.
Ingredients:
Creative Expressions Craft dies by Sue Wilson
Perfect peony complete petals
Portuguese collection background
Lisbon die set
Primrose and milk foundation card
Archival Watering can ink pad
Stick pin elements
Eternity A4 embossing folder
Enjoy...

Hi John
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely card. Love the peony stamp and the dies you've used as well.
I also missed yesterday's card due to no internet connection in London. But I loved it. The dies look stunning in white on the darker background.
Eh up John
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing the Primrose is more subtle in real life but terrific design and stamps.
Have a great day.

ReplyDeleteHi John,

Love the card, John, but have to say I'm not keen on the stamps. I prefer a more realistic look.

Hi John,
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card, the Portuguese dies are lovely and I love the way that you have used them here. Your peony stamp is so intricate and looks beautiful on the primrose card.
Thanks for sharing,
Heather Treble
Hi John,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, I love the colour combo. And the peonies look gorgeous, in fact everything does , the entire card, from background up.
Thank you for sharing.
Best wishes, Rose
Good morning John, the primrose colouring is super but I must confess I'm not keen on the stamping. I think it is the colour you have used and perhaps a lighter toning colour would not be so stark. Love from Jackie xx
ReplyDeleteLovely card John. X
ReplyDeleteMorning John, This is really pretty, gorgeous die-cuts, and that flush of black really adds dimension and decadence.
ReplyDeleteLots of love from Patricia xx
Would love this card for my yellow bedroom - so will have a go at making something similar as I don't have all the goodies you used, but have something else from Sue's collections that will be a good substitute. Will try and remember to put it on my blog when it is done.
ReplyDeleteHi John, stunning card love the colours! Take care Jane B.
ReplyDeleteHI John, saw you make this on Hochanda liked it at the time and still think its lovely

You have done a beautiful job with these lovely stamps. I do like the softness of this, but would not complain about more of the darker cards!

ReplyDeleteThank you, Thank you John for putting this on your blog. I was really hoping you would. I saw you demo this on Hochanda. I do not have cable or satellite so I can't DVR the shows. I watch them on my computer.
ReplyDeleteI really love this card!!!! Now I can try and make it myself.
Hello John,
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, from the flower stamps, to the way you have decorated the frame with the pearls, and everything in between!!!
