Simple Sunday...

Happy Sunday,

I had a wonderful time yesterday at Craftstation with the so talented Helen and the friendly and hardworking ladies who attended the workshop!

Quite a simple card today using one of the Expressions dies form Sues collection of phrases.  Sometimes we want to send a card just to say Hello and to let someone know we are thinking of them.  On these occasions then what is better, especially when you don't know what to say, than Hello!

I simply cut the aperture from the hello die (which is a separate die that comes in the pack) on the right hand side of a long piece of white foundation card.  Next I embossed the whole piece using the rambling blossoms A4 embossing folder.  I coloured the opposing corners using summer blue gilding wax which I polished off using a dry wet wipe.

I cut the Hello centre die in aqua card and then foam mounted it over a piece of coconut white card onto which I had added a piece of double sided adhesive sheet, covered in diamond snow and coloured using the gilding wax again.

I simply foam mounted the aperture over this and added a bow and strip of teal seam binding and (hardly visible in the picture) a matching dazzler in the centre.

A few layers of white and aqua and finished, simple but hopefully just right.

Ingredients:
Creative Expressions Craft dies by Sue Wilson
Hello Expressions die
Coconut white & Aqua foundation card
Teal seam binding
Diamond Snow
Summer Blue gilding wax

Enjoy...

  5. Morning John, glad you enjoyed yourself yesterday, one day I will get to one of your workshops. As to todays card well 'Simple Sunday' does not due it justice, I love the way you have put it together and also the colouring you have used, it is one of those cards that you can make loads of them and then use them as and when you need a quick card, thanks so much for sharing with us.

Enjoy Sunday everyone, stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

    beautiful card today.
    Great design as always.
Anyone would just love to receive a card just to say Hello, and know they are being thought about, especially as it could be a John Lockwood design.
So this is a fab idea.
    Have a lovely Sunday.

  17. Hi John
Gorgeous card! Sometimes good to let the embossing and the die cut do all the work and yes, agree with an earlier comment of 'less is more'! The car parks in Plymouth all have a sign at the entrance beginning 'Hello!' and this really tickled me when we first visited my stepdaughter at uni! How friendly! Best wishes, AnneO

  24. Hi John
Another lovely card today. Such a simple card but it looks lovely. Many thanks for the inspiration you give us every day. I saw the mixed pack that you told me about at Newbury. It's a shame they won't be selling this generally. We don't always want 25 sheets of card. But say 5 as in the mixed pack or even just 10 of a colour would be great. We would then be able to afford to buy more card.
