Sunday Stamping...

Happy Sunday,

I'm still here (hopefully lol) at Alexandra Palace so I thought I would show you all another of the cards I have on my stand here so that you are not left out!  This is another using one of my new stamps sets the Cherry Blossom Elements and I have gone really out of my comfort zone for this one.  I hope you all like it however I suspect it may not be everyones cup of tea!

Both of these are made by over stamping the individual cherry blossom elements onto a piece of Ivory Foundation card onto which I splashed Cosmic Shimmer Mica Watercolour paints.  These will be on my C&C shows at the end of the month in a new formulation I can't wait to show them to you and all the possibilities (I have a few techniques and demo's up my sleeve for these shows which should be an interesting watch.

Let me know what you think of this move into the Abstract!

Enjoy...

  7. Hi John, I think this card is fabulous, love the cherry blossom and to over stamp on the splats of colour is very abstract but very effective. Have a good day at AP today. Bx

  10. Hi John. Hope you are having a fab time at Ally Pally. Thanks for showing us cards that you have on your stand as it is too far for me to travel and I would have missed out on seeing this beautiful card. Although not a style of card I would normally make, I still think it is gorgeous. Looking forward to your shows at the end of the month. xx

  19. I prefer the smaller card but the colours of both are lovely. I think what puts me off the larger card is a little too much splatter. But thanks for showing them and I might just give the technique a try!

  21. Hi John
The juries out on this one at the moment. I like the idea of the blossom. However, I'm not to sure of the splatter on the card. Hope we get to see more of these stamps. It was lovely to meet you yesterday. Thank you for the info regarding how to make the base card out of the Noble Rectangle. Must have had a CRAFT moment on this one as its so easy. JUST in case the ladies of the COTSWOLD CAFE know what this mean. It's Cant remember a --- Thing. That's because of our age, the brain seems to have a blip now and again.m

  26. Love the stamps, I think I would have to get used to the abstract part, but don't hate it, so it could grow on me. Hope you aren't too worn out at Ally Pally.

  29. Oh, it's *my* cup of tea for sure :) I'm not one for bows so this really appeals to me. I do take a lot of inspiration from your cards but I always, in my mind's eye, remove the bow ;) Each to their own!

  35. Hi John. I think by now you will be truly knackered lol after a very busy weekend. Truthfully if I had done this myself I would have put it in the bin before I even got to the matting and layering. But I now think after seeing this I'd think again as I really like it.
Thanks for making me look at things in a different light.
    Enjoy a rest
    love

  40. Hi John, I like the colours on this card, and the stamps are beautiful, look forward to seeing the rest of your collection. Afraid the splatters are not for me, I would love to see this card done without them, it would be a stunner.

  41. Hi John. I love the cards and the stamps but must be honest and say that the splatters are just not my cup of tea. As we all say it would be very boring if we all liked the same things, and it is also good to try new things for a change so please keep on inspiring us please. I hope you get a rest now after a busy weekend : ) Take care.
