Something Pretty...

Happy Thursday,

I hope you all enjoyed Sue's (and my) shows yesterday, once again I learnt a road of techniques that I can't wait to try!  Im afraid there is not a great deal of explanation on this card as the Pick of the Day has left me knackered and I have workshops in Kettering today!

Back to today and I thought it was time for something pretty and light! I started by using the striped weaving dies from the current collection and after discarding the middles I wove the pieces together to make this basket weave background.  I foam mounted this over a piece of coconut white cardstock to secure it.

The next picture shows this weave in greater detail.

Next I made frame using the Classic Adorned Rectangle noble die using the letterpress technique.  What I did was to add perfect medium to the debs section of the die and then run it through with the embossing sandwich.  Next I cut the frame using the 2 plain edge dies within the set.  I then dusted the debased area using a lilac mica powder and foam mounted this above the weave.

I made up the rest of the cards shown using layers of the lilac and coconut white adding row of the pearls around the edge to add a touch of glamour!

Enjoy...

  24. My daughter celebrated her pearl wedding anniversary earlier this week - this card would have been a perfect design! Love the card, the colour is so pretty and the shape of the card is really elegant. Loved the shows, thought I'd recorded them all but I have freeserve and the service stops at 6pm. so I think I must have missed some. I didn't get to see you demo the fab card that you had on the blog on Tues 21st & I really wanted to see that. Another time maybe! Pat x

  27. Good afternoon John.
Pretty cards is definitely the right title. If I'm honest the first noble frame is my preference. So intricate.
Hope you are tested after the shows. Creative expressions seems to be non stop at the moment.

  29. Hi John,
Such a lovely card, and yet another way to use the weaving dies. I have got them but haven't got started on them yet but this will happen over the weekend!
Now to your shows - I'm not surprised you're knackered after that marathon 2 days, you must have had VERY LITTLE sleep. Your demos were great as were your samples (well, they still are LOL), it is such joy to see you on the screen and you explain Sue's dies so well and with such conviction. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next. Also can't wait to see your new stamps in the (online) shops.
Have a great day at Kettering and a good rest tonight.
    Best wishes, Rose
