Sneak Peak Friday & a Giveaway!
Well the car is all packed and while you are reading this I will either be on my way to or be setting up in Alexandra Palace for a weekend of playing with Friends ( If the boss is reading this then I mean a weekend of hard work demoing next to people I know and get one with but don't have time to talk to much! lol)
Tomorrow will be the first time my new range of stamps will be on sale, these will be on Create and Craft on the 30th April (date and times TBC) however we have taken a stock of these to the Big Stamp and Scrapbooking show so you can tell me what you think! To celebrate I have manage to get a pre-release set of this set of stamps called Rose Bud Elements to give away therefore rather than a card giveaway (as I will need this card for the TV shows) I am giving away this set of stamps instead. I also realise that I didn't announce the winner of last weeks giveaway who was June Smith if you email me your address June to Lockers@live.co.uk I will post it out to you!
Back to today's card and I used my new set to make what I hop you will agree is a classic card stable for lots of different people and occasions! As this was a brand new set I thought I would challenge myself by using a colour I rarely like so I pulled this strawberry card from my crafty stash, I teamed it with milk foundation card to offset the pink (it isn't quite this bright in real life.
I started by stamping the main rosebud frame (yes I did take hours to draw all this rosebuds!) using perfect medium and embossed it with Cosmic Shimmer True detail white embossing powder and heat set it. Next I cut it out using the largest die in the Herald Square die set form the New York collection. I then mounted it onto milk card and hand cut a mat around the square.
Next I cut more of the strawberry card using the new Labyrinth die form the diagonals collection. This die, when squared up to the edge of a piece of card, cuts a diagonal pattern into the card, by adding the edge die you get the lovely lace edge as shown here. I repeated this with a piece of Milk foundation card and foam mounted, after cutting the pink down, the pink piece over the milk. I then cut a thin border around the edge to give a nice set of layers.
To decorate the card I added small PVA pearl dots, in cosmic pearl on the pink and deep rose on the milk, on all the junctions of the lattice.
Finally I added the whole piece to a card embossed with the bed of roses A4 embossing folder and I picked out the embossing with enchanted gold gilding wax. A few layers of the pink and milk, a messy bow with rose seam binding heart dazzler and a couple of hat pins to match made with the stick pins elements (rose teardrop beads) and finished!
