Monday Giveaway...

Happy Monday,

This weeks giveaway has been moved to Friday and may have an extra special prize as well as the usual card!  Therefore today it's just a card I'm afraid!

I started this one by cutting the outline background die from the Caribbean set however I cut this down the middle to make it into a square.  I left a large 2cm bored all round and trimmed away the joining piece in the middle to make the square shown.  I then mounted this onto a piece of Aqua foundation card leaving a 1/2 cm bored all round.

Next I cut the outline die from the st Kitts die in the aqua card and then cut another in black card however this time I used the filigree insert piece as well.  These were stuck together and foam mounted over the background to hide the joins!

I cut the next layer in the St Kitts set in aqua and added the next size again in black.  I stamped the sentiment, from my butterfly dreams clear stamp set, in perfect medium and embossed it with Phill Martin's Decadent Teal embossing powder.

I added a black seam binding bow and one of the new aqua dazzlers.

To make the card I embossed a 18x18cm square of black card with the new CE textures embossing folder Linen.  I rubbed Phill Martin's decadent teal gilding wax over the raised area, waited a few minutes and polished the wax with a dry wet wipe.  To finish the card I added a few layers of the Aqua and black foundation card to make a square 21x21cm card.

Ingredients:
Creative Expressions Craft Dies by Sue Wilson
Caribbean background set
St Kitts
CE Clear stamp set Butterfly Dreams
Aqua & Black foundation card
Phill Martin's Decadent Teal cosmic Shimmer Gilding wax & embossing powder.

Giveaway will be back on Friday,

Enjoy...

  11. Hi John, great layout on the card, as the others have said the pictures appear dark, so not easy to see the aqua, but that is a great colour combo and one I have used before. Have a great day. Bx

  26. Lovely design layout but as others have said, it looks very dark on my screen. Straining to see the aqua. Am sure it is quite beautiful in person.

  27. I'm thinking male elegance if that makes sense to you. Dark and mysterious. I like it.I finally ordered my favourite of the striplet dies stamps. Looking forward to playing with it. The card you made on C&C is still in my head and has left a lasting impression.

Can I please ask a question about the decoupage papers.... If you've started a project and don't particularly like it. Do you have to strip it all or can you just paper over ?
    Thanks John.
    Enjoy your day
