Tuesday Sympathy...

Happy Tuesday,

Todays set is more gentle and although I have put a sympathy sentiment in the mix I wanted a set that could be used for lots of accessions that need something gentler.  Therefore I have included a range of sentiments in this mix that could be used in this or any situation.

The mix of elements in this set are really useful as well, I have included the outlines of the leaves as well as a solid stamp this allows you to make the look I have here.  What I have done is to stamp the solid leaves in a colour then stamp over them with the detail stamp in archival black.  This gives an easy build background or statement piece.

I have used the technique in this card for the background strip I have then used the central panel, coloured with a stunning range of Acyrlic drawing inks I have on the show on saturday.

Flower Frames Elements Clear Stamp Set
As we all need, as card makers, a sympathy set I wanted this to be useful for other occasions so have included a second panel that is with a hand drawn sunflower, not a traditional sunflower but a flower that reminded me of the sun once I had drawn it.

Just a quick note on these sets I have been informed that stocks for craft shops should be ready next week so they should start appearing!  Also as these were hand drawn the frames are supposed to be sketchy, they are not designed to be perfect squares as I really wanted that hand drawn look.

Another new set tomorrow!

Enjoy...

  11. Eh up John
Phew, when I read your title, I thought you'd had to make one of the dreaded cards for someone.
The calla is a lovely set for those sad moments. The other flower reminds me of a cornflower so a lovely addition to the set.
    Have a great day.

  16. Morning John, Stunning set, love them. My daughter had calla and arum lily's in her wedding bouquet, so a bouquet of these and the greenery on her anniversary card would be great reminder of her special day! Thank-you, Junex (Cumbria)

  24. While none of us want to make these cards, we all have to at times. I think these stamps are perfect. You have got it just right, modern, simple, lovely sentiments. I feel a card made with these would seem a lot more genuine in the thought than most shop bought cards.

  35. Good evening John,
A beautiful card in the white with the pale soft blue mats and layers with the zircon coloured ribbon that just sets it off nicely. These are lovely soft, gentle looking stamps that probably say all there is to say at certain times. Thank you John for another hit winning stamp collection and i hope they fly off the craft shop shelves.

  37. Hi John

A very nice card, something we have all had to make and have difficulty with, I'm sure. Most 'traditional' elements for sympathy cards I find wers aimed at therecipients being older but sadly, as we all know, the bereaved family can be of any age. You've got this set just right I think, and lilies can be for weddings or just a person's favourite flower (iit's one of my favourites). The stylised sunflower is lovely and with different colours could be any flowers at all. A very well thought out set in all, well done... and inks?... intriguing!!!

    Hugs
