Todays the Day Sneak Peak...

Happy Thursday,

Well today's the day my first TV appearance on Create and Craft!  Hopefully it won't be the last lol  I will be appearing with the legendary Sue Wilson in her One Day Wonder shows at 4pm and 7pm.  The plan is that I will share the demo's so should be doing a demo in each hour, just in case I have prepped about 6 as I like to be prepared lol.

Today's card is a sneak peak of the new embossing folders that will be launched on the show as well as the Stamps to die for that match the second release of Sue's own range of dies!

For this sample I have used the new Creative Expressions A4 embossing folder Knotted Trellis however I have used a new technique (for me anyways I'm sure others have used this before!) What I did was to run Perfect Medium  over the debossed side of the card and emboss it with Detail Clear embossing powder.  This, to me at least, looks like a glazed tile.  To show the different Effects available I mounted the tile like piece on to a piece showing the embossed side which I coloured using Broken China Distress Ink.

I have planned a demo for this card and technique for the show so hopefully those of you who tune in will be able to watch me make this!

Therefore I haven't written a description of this one just the ingredients list!

Ingredients:
Creative Expressions Knotted Trellis Embossing Folder
Sue Wilson's French Collection Borders and Tags die set
Detail Clear Embossing Powder
Foundation card in Navy, Duck egg and Vintage Silver
CE Friends Sentiments stamp set

It would be great if you could tune in and email in to the show!  Sue will be on from 8am so join her for breakfast and I'll see you at teatime...

Enjoy...

  12. Eh up John
May just have to try this technique as the effect looks fab. The embossing pattern reminds me of barbed wire rather than trellis, for some reason (its early, the eyes need to wake up fully lol!)
    Break a leg matey! You'll be a surefire hit! And most of all. . . . . . . . . . ENJOY!

  22. Hi John,

Just finished watching your first show and you did brilliantly. Loved this card and it was great to see you demonstrate it on TV, hope you don't mind I may have to steal this technique and give it a try as its gorgeous!
I did manage to send in an e-mail in the end and although it was not read out Sue pulled it out of the cup so whooppeeee another card for me!!! As it was pulled out I hope you had chance to read it.

Good Luck for the other shows but you don't need it really you don't.

  31. Lovely card and great technique John. You did great today on C&C and I really enjoyed your demo. With Sue being away now for the rest of the year does this mean we will see more of you on the telly?

  32. Hi John,
Great card, watched you on C&C demo it (and now I know why my efforts didn't work - I didn't use a brayer just rubbed the whole inkpad over the embossed card). Your cards are so beautiful, those samples were something else! I'm sure we'll see more of you - it would be a pity if we didn't.
The small hinged cards you did were so lovely, I shall certainly do them, too. My biggest card is A5 size, but it's mostly 6 x 7 or thereabouts. I really like 6 x 6, but the ones you demoed are really cute.
Wrote in several times but my emails didn't get read out (along with loads of others I'm sure) to welcome Sue back (I'm a huge fan of hers) and to welcome you of course.
    Have a good day
    Rose
