Simple(ish) Sunday...

Happy Fall Back Sunday,

I think this post should go out on time I struggle every year with the clocks changing thing!  I never can get forward or backwards, whether I gain an hour or lose an hour no matter how many times the nice people on Breakfast news or Radio 4 explain it to me! lol

Back to today's card and I have titled it simple(ish) because it may look a little complex however the stamp and one simple outline die from the French collection Provence Die set does all the work.

I started by stamping the Stamps to die for Arched Swirls, using perfect medium, onto teal foundation card.  I added cosmic shimmer detail white powder and heat embossed it.  I stamped and embossed the design three times and cut them out using the matching die in the Provence set.

Next I made a large card base using layers of the teal and coconut white card, which I embossed with the Creative Expressions A4 Honeycomb Haven embossing folder.  I simply layered the three stamped pieces together with foam tape to complete the design.

To finish I stamped the sentiment form the friends set by Creative Expressions in the same detail white and cut it with the smallest die in the set and foam mounted this onto the top.  A few swirls of pearls and a complex looking, yet simple card was finished.

Ingredients:
Sue Wilson's Dies Provence
Stamps to die for Arched Swirls
Teal & Coconut White foundation card
Cosmic Shimmer detail white embossing powder

Enjoy...

  1. You may call this card simplish but it is really beautiful and doesn't look simple at all. Love the black and white!

  2. Morning John,

Gorgeous card, love the design. The Teal card looks Dark Green on my computer this morning ( or it may be I haven't woken up yet!) but still looks fabulous.

  9. Morning John,

I'm not a fan of the honeycomb embossing folder but it all looks really well on this card. I always think that cards must be even better in person because the colours don't always show up well on a computer screen- it actually looks more black and cream on my iPad so I think your colour choice sounds even nicer than my picture if you know what I mean, lol. It's definitely straightforward and would be easy to do but it looks very elegant.

    Hugs Alice xx

  14. Morning John, have just received my dies from Sue Wilson ( French collection and Austrian collection), really pleased with how the dies all work well together - the frames are all different sizes so altogether you have a great set. Love your card so I might have to invest in the stamps as well. Have a good day. Janice xxx http://createdbyjan.blogspot.com

  15. Eh up John
I'm getting black rather than teal but lovely anyway. Simple yes but still very effective. Certain occasions call for understated cards, without the whistles and bells and this would fit the bill perfectly. Love it!
    Have a great day.

  18. Lovely card today John. I too struggled with the hour back and forward thing until last year when someone told me a rhyme. 'Spring Forward, Fall Back'. Now I remember what it's supposed to do at what time of year. Now I just need to remember when!!.....xxx
