Simple Sunday...

Happy Sunday,

Today's card is a simple stamped affair to show that with a nice background and sentiment a simple uncoloured or lightly coloured image can be really effective and simple.  Today's card was made specifically for a friend who was starting a new job and being a guy it is always hard to find the right level of embellishment and die cuts to suit a formal occasion and not be to fancy.  I thought the sentiment, one of my Craft show bargains from last Sunday, fit the bill perfectly.

I started by simply inking through a that special touch mask using white chalk ink onto black card, A4 folded in half, to make the card base.  Next I stamped the image in grey Flannel Memento ink onto super smooth card stock and added a few lines of grey alcohol marker to give some depth to the image.

Next I stamped the sentiment in versamark and embossed it in detail white embossing powder and overheated the powder so that it started to crack and give an aged feel.  These pieces were matted in silver mirror card then white card and layered, using a little foam tape of course, on the card front.

Finally I added a corner die cut in black from the Sue Wilson French Collection Borders and Tags set to relive the squareness (if that is even a word!)

Ingredients:
Kanban Clear stamp (no name on packet)
That Special Touch Mask
Sentiment stamp (random stall at Craft Fayre sorry & binned packet)

Enjoy...

  4. Hi John, you're absolutely right, with a super background like this one, you don't need to do a great deal with your image, especially such a fab image. Wonderful card. Elizabeth xx
